- 2023 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Henrik Lundqvist didn’t win a Stanley Cup in 15 seasons with the New York Rangers. So how is still considered a King in New York City?

Henrik is forever the King of New York, I don’t see anyone being a better New York Ranger than Henrik Lundqvist! I still wish he won a Cup with us, his career feels incomplete without one😢

he deserved a cup but never had the support in front, mostly offensive issues. breaks my heart but to me he's the best all time especially given the circumstances. dominated the regular season and always had a better post season his numbers never lied he truly was incredible. WHILE HAVING A HEART CONDITION AS WELL. I hope when Benny steps down he will be the direct replacement to mentor Igor.
@Debosaur I agree with you on almost everything. However, I don't think Hank wants to be a coach. He has a family and if he were to become a coach even if its the goalie coach he would have to be away from his family often and I just think he wants to spend time with his kids and wife. He does a very good job in the studio. He is into the analytics but not to the extent that Valley is.
Jeff Gorton can rot in hell like the racist pos he is. The way he treated Hank,K’Andre, Brass,MSL,Hayes,Zuc,JT Miller shows lack of character he has. The fact he defended Tom Wilson leaning his body weight on Buch’s neck is all you need to know.
Hell I’m a Capitals fan and I agree!! I am sad he never got a chance to play for us. (Or barely I can’t remember). He’s one of those guys who deserves the cup (besides Ovechkin and Backstrom of course! 😁😉)

Hank is the GOAT. He may not have the Stanley Cups of some other goalies of his contempiraries, but he was the best and most reliable and durable of the goalies of his day. Not to mention, he also wasn't a high draft pick. He was a 7th rounder.
He was respected by his team. All of them listened when he spoke. He didn’t need the “C” to get attention.

I am a Panthers fan and I rooted for Lundqvist and the Rangers to win the Stanley Cup against the LA Kings but it was not to be.

I don't think he wants to be a coach. If he did become a coach he would have to leave his family behind for long periods of time and his kids are still young and I feel like he wants to be there to watch them grow up. Maybe he will be a special coach during training camp similar to how the New York Yankees bring in guys like Reggie Jackson and other former players during the preseason to help mentor and give special instruction for the prospects. I could also see Hank becoming heavily involved with the Garden of Dreams. I forgot to also mention he also has his own charity that he is heavily involved with.
@@craigkatz1018 All good points! I wish that the Rangers had beaten the Los Angeles Kings when they went to the Stanley Cup Final against them and that Hank would have gotten the Conn Smythe Trophy! That would have been a perfect ending to that season! Sometimes it seems that the Eastern Conference teams beat each other up during the playoffs and the Western Conference teams don’t and when the finals come around, the Eastern team has nothing left in the tank and is banged up. As a result the western team gets the cup more times than the eastern team. Just look at the Panthers last season losing to a team that has been in the league less than 8 years. Maybe I’m just sick of the west getting it more often than not.

Yeah he might not have the Stanley cup titles but he did win some team awards such as the Stephen Mcdonald Extra Effort Award which is voted on by the fans and is awarded to the player who goes above and beyond in the community outside of the game of hockey. Not to mention he also wore those custom masks that were auctioned off for charity.
