Unfortunately I have never been near Cerro Ancon to climb it even though I am from Panama. It’s on my bucket list

Welcome. Yes at the bottom of the hill there are spaces at the side of the road. I recommend walking from there. Also up the hill just immediately before the police checkpoint people park on the left of the road.
