    molly, never feel like you need to justify what you spend your money on!! your west coast trip looked amazing and has definitely opened my eyes to more of Australia and is somewhere I need to go now!! this video was very insightful, thank you

    We’re planning our backpacking trip for our honeymoon and this was actually so much more reasonable than I thought! We’re doing the west coast as it’s definitely more our vibe but will also visit the east coast and it’s so reassuring knowing the exact costs!
    If you divide the cost each by 4, it is no more than what a lot of people would pay for a week in an all inclusive resort weekly so is an incredible price for the experience!
    Thank you so much for this, you’ve made me feel so much more at ease about our savings for our travels!

    No joke I think that’s incredible!! You travelled for basically a month for a months wage over there which is amazing!! I’ve loved following the journey and glad you shared this with us ❤

    Love your holiday in WA. I’d love to see you go back for another one seeing things you missed this year like the manta rays, Broome etc and to see you visit some places again the number one place being Rottnest Island.

    How much did you spend on your East Coast trip? Would be good to compare the two!

    Van trips always seem like an amazing idea until you look up how much it costs to rent a van😂 I've been thinking about traveling with a van through Italy but turns out it's cheaper to go with our own car and rent Airbnbs lol (of course in Australia this is a lot different and more about the actual van life in my opinion)

    This is really useful thanks. Did you book the van on their website to get that price? Comes up at 1700 for us for 22 days. Thanks

      Yesss we did, I think they price everything seasonally so it might depend when you’re looking for/how far in advanced it is too? Not sure though!! Xx

    looking at doing this on the east coast… thinking of getting a larger van with a toilet and shower which is around £140 a night, would you say it’s worth it having done it without x

    What about flights?

    • @MollyThompsonx_
      @MollyThompsonx_  ปีที่แล้ว

      True, I didn’t think of that as we were already in WA - but I guess this depends where you’re flying from! We flew from Adelaide so it was around £120 - most domestic flights in Australia are around £100-£200 :)

    Wow the hire of the van was way more than I expected. I feel like I’d rather buy a cheap 2nd hand car and sleep in it/camp instead and be able to sell it on later.
    The petrol cost however seemed really affordable:)

    • @MollyThompsonx_
      @MollyThompsonx_  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We did consider this option but I know a lot of people that have had quite a few issues with the car/the cost of insuring it and then having issues with it on the road and it being super expensive, whereas we had all of that stuff covered and included so it just seemed like the easiest option overall - but you could for sure save money this way if you’re okay with waiting to get it back afterwards!! The petrol was definitely reasonable!! X
