Actually after you design enough houses you unlock an ABD that allows you to convert poki into bells and vice versa. Also if you throw enough bells at Brewster for 2 second cutscenes he’ll give you some stuff and sometimes you might maybe possibly eventually if you’re lucky get to see some of the special characters at the roost. I’ve never seen it happen in my own game without using Amiibo but it’s technically possible
As everyone else is saying, you can transfer it later on. Wardell actually can offer a full catalog of items you can buy. After you buy enough stuff for there of course. And only the non-crafted items. But it is a lot of fun. Also, they dropped the prices of some things like moving buildings. It went from 50k to 10k. ^^ And after a while in HHP you can redecorate your villager's homes and get miles in return. Not a bunch which sucks but it's something.
You can unlock a ATM in Happy Home Paradise after completing more vacation homes. YOU CAN EXCHANGE YOUR POKI WITH IT! There's actually a lot of new unlockable items. For example, you can get new items by buying coffee everyday or participating in group stretching in front of resident services.
This update is looking more interesting… too bad animal crossing still isn’t that interesting, it’s a bit too hard to decorate sometimes, and actually getting the house expanded doesn’t feel that rewarding(also needs more customization with what I put where, control over how rooms look and such), and ultimately there is no point because the only way I can play an online game, is paying extra(this part is about a different game, and other games like that other game), like seriously I buy a game and now I have to pay for stupid subscription to be able to play the main game, anyway back to animal crossing. I don’t want to pay to use the internet with a game already paid for when the internet also has to be paid for, whoever decided that was a good idea to make, I hate you.

On the plus side you can buy new items with Poki and if you buy the chocolate there and give it to one of your villagers, they can go to the DLC area where you can design their home. Also you left out cooking. I had a good time killing the sea bass with two of my recipes. They had it coming.

You know you can exchange your poki for bells after finishing a certain amount of clients. It’s only like 30k a day tho, and the conversion of poki to bells is always fluctuating each day.
As others have pointed out, after you build a set number of houses, Poki *will* be available to transfer into bells, though you're limited to 15k bells a day. Time Traveling helps because each day Poki will have a different worth in Bells (like one day I noticed 100 Poki came out to 333 Bells). You can also order just about any piece of furniture you use in the house remodels/designs from Wardell, the only exceptions being the Gold furniture and Astrology furniture. Also, a bed in a bathroom is not that weird to me, but that might be because Julia is one of my villagers, and her default home layout is some pieces from the Rattan furniture set and a shower stall and claw-foot bathtub.
To be fair, Katrina and her fortune telling can actually benefit you by giving you good luck on things like money rocks Edit: Also if you design enough houses they add an ATM to the work office of happy home paradise so you can make poki into bells and vice versa
If you don’t like your designs you can just go to the top right of the island where most of the villagers hang out and ask them if they wanna remodel. I do this a ton for when I get new furniture, spacing so it isn’t cramped, an entire up-stairs, all that.
Lottie was actually introduced in Happy Home Designer where you design houses and facilities, so it was my favorite game, i was really happy when i saw the dlc(cus i dont have a switch lol)

In Happy Home Pardise, I made Reneigh a home. Then the next day, I got Tank. I got them both to be roommates. A few weeks later, after that, Tank moved into my town.
I might be lynched for this but I dont find this Update to be this game changing thing people made it out to be... Like I paid the vendors to camp on Harvys Island, I checked them out once or twice and after grabbing the crobs I was kinda done with the update already... the new items dont make me squeal either... I havent played properly in weeks. And no Kofi isnt a daily hook either, he never was for me.

Harv’s Island (before the update) reminded me of this movie called The Lovely Bones and Harv always creeped me out because of it.
