    excellent tour guide, who makes some minor mistakes, but very knowledgeable. Botswana is beautiful, gaberone is an impressive town. lots of nigerians in jamaica....in fact Jamaicans are largely nigerian genetically, but anglo/ghanian culturally.

    • @artlover4375
      @artlover4375 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, actually most Jamicans are largely Ghanian (Ashanti/Akan), but some have Nigerian ancestry. Both Nigerian and Ghanian tribal chiefs sold Jamaican and other black diaspora into slavery to white slave traders since the 1400s.

    I don't think the driver was conscious of digging his nose as you put, I think he was deep in thought of the conversation and I have to say he did his best and I was very happy to listened to him, but of course you cannot please everyone no matter how hard you try there will be people to criticize you and your actions even though they themselves couldn't do better. Well done to the driver.

    No,no,no!. It is a serious misconception to think or say that most of the persons living uptown or in affluent, upper income communities in Jamaica are white, near white, very light-skinned .etc. In fact, most Jamaicans living in these communities are black.This applies to both Kingston and St Andrew (The Corporate Area) and the rural parishes.These affluent communities are resident to such persons as doctors, lawyers, senior civil servants, college and university lecturers and professors, other senior educators, members of the political directorate, CEO's and senior managers in major financial and other corporate entities, major figures in the arts, sports and entertainment and numerous other fields. Most of these persons happen to be black.What one would guess is that given the country's history, the vast majority of white etc. Jamaicans would naturally live in these affluent communities. But that is a different thing from saying that the majority of "up-towners" are not black. Jamaicans have to be sure that the information which they give to the public is accurate

    • @seancoonery2559
      @seancoonery2559 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is white Jamaicans?

    • @janetcousins7250
      @janetcousins7250 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      natalie storm Most of the people who shop in the areas you mention are black. However these are the types of areas where the majority of the more affluent white and light skinned a Jamaicans shop, Two different things. Bear in mind that there are thousands of less affluent light - skinned Jamaicans who live in far less affluent communities throughout the island.

      Also, there are poor white Jamaicans in Westmoreland. Jamaican wealth has nothing to do with color. People need to stop applying other people's racial concepts to Jamaica and especially the Caribbean.

    It's not just fair skin people that lives in uptown. This is not true. You have a lot of light skin people that are living downtown and crosstown. You have light skin and mixed people everywhere in Jamaica. What about St. Elizabeth, German town. I forgot the name of the parish where German town is . A lot of the white Jamaicans from German decent that are living in this town are poor. Some are blond with blue eyes. If he had said that Uptown people speak different from downtown people. This is true.
