    You could go to three different places for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday for the rest of your life in Flushing and never hit all the places! What are some recommendations you have of Flushing or NYC in general for the next time we eat there for a video?! Let us know because we're always hungry lmao

      Maxis Noodles or Prince Noodle and Cafe in Flushing. Lower East Manhattan, theres Grand Skewer Cart, Go Believe Bakery, and I never tried it but theres a ZongZi Lady that sells homemade Zongzi thats supposed to be good. My inlaws probably have the same taste as your grandpa. Watch or play some ball after you get a snack from these places at the basketball courts near down the street in lower east manhattan.

    Excellent video. Good to see you and Naq back together. If your G'pa is up for it, I'd like to see what he thinks of Flushing in general.

    Thanks for making this video. I lived in Brooklyn NY for the first 28 years of my life. At almost 50 I miss it so much, especially the food. As a white dude, I am literally obsessed with Chinese food, both the Americanized and real Chinese food you can get in NYC. I have so many memories of going to Flushing, specifically New World's food court. So many of those stalls have changed since the last time I was there, but I bet they are all still incredible. I was a huge foodie back then, so this was fun to watch. I was hoping you'd get some chow fun in the video, but maybe next time :D Also happy new year to you and grandfather.

    So, Joe's steamed rice roll is more like Northern China style of rice rolls, they don't typically use sesame sauce or hoisin like how southern China does it. So if you come back, I highly recommend Fu Yuan instead. There isn't seating but it's gonna hit that canto nostalgia food. Their steamed rice rolls with cruller always sells out by like 2pm usually. They also got the chee cheong fun and the pig skin and turnip.

    Never judge a book by its cover, ie, gentrification, (or with anybody for that matter). It's an intentional move, here, there, and alllllll over this great country. Always keep your head on a swivel.
    The food looked yummy. Rice rolls I'd prefer more traditional and basic. God bless black vinegar. Though the lazy Chinese places have Sriracha around, it's lazy imo, I'd prefer a sambal oelek and a chili crisp, proper.
    What a nice outing, all-over. 😊
    Be happy you're here. 🎄🌟

    I’m from north Jersey and I would pay the toll just to get a certain type of fish cake with cheese that not even the HMarts don’t carry. I could only get to eat if I go to a specific hotpot place and they are Korean. So long story short, I went back to get my fish cakes and they no longer carry it 😑😑😑😑. The buy by the pound wasn’t there anymore.

    I think this dude took you to the wrong places. Avoid neon signs, hit the mom and pops.

    • @hardnaqlife9540
      @hardnaqlife9540 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think this is such an outdated way of thinking, Chinese food isn’t only hole in the wall mom and pop restaurants, and you do a disservice to all the people trying new and different things by trying to “good Chinese food” into that box. Every spot we went to here except the boba spot were mom and pop independently owned businesses. These aren’t tourist traps marketed towards white people, they are businesses and restaurants that local people in Flushing do eat at. That’s the point of doing a Flushing food crawl. hole in the walls are cool but Chinese food, especially in Flushing, is so much more than that.

    • @61hink
      @61hink 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@hardnaqlife9540 I would say the opposite. There's so much more to Chinese food in Flushing than what you're going to find in food courts, even if locals eat at the food courts. This didn't even scratch the surface. For the really interesting dishes, head down the side streets.

      I think this guest guy knows a lot about Chinese food than so-many self-claimed Chinese food experts.
