Got to say this works. Watch this then go on the clinics. Learnt more in one week than in the last year. Nailed my first back loops because of this. Brilliant breakdown and nice explanations. Love it
Nice tips. But I'd add something I think it's important. Before you start the maneuver you must know which side you are going to pull in case it goes wrong. If you fall and you can't see the kite, then you have to know already that you must pull the back hand to decrease the power until you can see the kite again. And secondly, I think it helps if you try some back rolls without the board first, just in the body drag.
Gaudio Wind Actually you should at first get used to not pulling on either hand. At an early learning stage it is better to keep your hands close to the center of the bar and not pull either way. It is easy to lose your orientation and then over compensate by pulling the kite forward/down and then crashing it. Once you are feeling secure doing the rotation, you can slowly incorporate the kite motion.
colin campbell Well spotted. We are working on re-doing quite a few of our videos and adding more "common mistakes" and tips on how to prevent them, hopefully we won't make any ourselves again :D
