Now I have a new favorite site and series to watch again. I remember watching this show when tv stations played good shows.
I wish someone would put the Treasure Island movie back on here for free.
No Pirate in any movie in my op., is more of a pirate than Robert Newton
Not surprising, seeing as Robert Newton set the way for the whole pirate standard. XD And I agree.
No doubt in my mind!
great family viewing
"Give im a reminderrr!"💥
The boy has grown up.
hi pizzaflix, did some of your episodes of long john silver get deleted by youtube? i'ts just i thought you had more episodes uploaded than what i can see?, or maybe i was wrong, thanks.
ARGH! a fine swivel ending, mates.
Just seen George Harrison do his Pirate Bob sketch. He must have got it from Robert Newton.I remember this series well
That pistol Long John is cleaning at table in the beginning of the episode has got a bore the size of
my whole fist, the caliber
of the ball it explodes out
must be in excess of .65 !
I've never fired one - but
the recoil or 'kick' to it must break your wrist. They carried them in the waist of their trousers - can you imagine one going-off as you grabbed it ! One vasectomy and 'big-toe-ectomy' coming-up😄 🥺 😬 - 🤪😭🤪😭🥴
Before the 'safety'. Simply pull-back on the hammer - and wait a week or two to be able to hear again; it ain't like the movies friends, - the BOOM and 'shock-wave' by itself would've been enough to match a concussion shell !
Close range - very. No barrel-length, no boring, no bullet to speak of. Just a big fat lead ball that was probably an amorphous blob even before it left the barrel.
I swear, those pistols looked like smaller versions of the 'blunderbuss'. What a nasty weapon that was. They were like 'murder-machines'. Or the French trick of loading cannon with lengths of chain. The damage they'd do was incredible.
All this gabbing behind Long John cleaning that little hand-held cannon !
Sorry.
Check-it-out, - you're looking right down the barrel at around ~ 1:07
all the way through to around ~ 1:44 ! The thing is absolutely enormous ! That barrel and muzzle are the size of my arm !
I thought it was a piece of gas or water pipe at first.
You don't get the very same shot twice too, this was before the measured containment of shells.
So I guess it depends on charge.
I wonder how many blew-apart. There was no cap and paper-filled amount each time. Paying no attention and tipping that flask for 'just-a-bit' too-long - and KABOOM !
Those things must have been just as dangerous on the butt-end of that thing !
where did find this i love Long John Silver
A pity this video's so washed out. It's still fun though.
