Hello Cathy! Thanks for sharing your beautiful makes. I learned to crochet in my 20's. Since I have been retired I enjoy crocheting blankets, poncho's, hats and scarves. With our winters so long it's a good hobby to have. Take care.❤️❤️

Hello another week has quickly gone by. Such nice memories of your grandmother and crocheting. I never knew my grandmothers so I am self taught in all my crafts. I did have an aunt that shared my love of quilting. Your blankets are wonderful and the poncho is cute, reminds me of the 60's when they were so popular. Thanks for all your sharing....happy knitting.
You are so right about ponchos in the 60's... that was the timing when I dearly loved my poncho! I wore it most every day, instead of a cardigan. It is such a talent to quilt (and probably wishing I could quilt might be why I do so many crocheted blankets with squares... closest I can come to quilting without sewing). How lovely that you shared quilting with your aunt. Sewing is such a talent and I really wish I knew how...

Thank you! 😊Now that the a/c is working & temp is cooler outside (so I can have wip's on my lap), I seem to be making up for lost time LOL
I started with a crochet hook when I was 9 years old my grandmother tried teaching me. I only got a slip knot and chain and that was it. When I was 25 pregnant with my youngest son I brought a book from leisure arts and learned to crochet from that book. And that is all she wrote. It has been a little challenging for me sometimes because I am left-handed but I've been determined to learn what I can.
Thank you for sharing about your crochet. I did try to learn some crochet from a book and found videos also very helpful. (As I hear of tutorials made for both left & right hand, I'll try to remember to mention that from here on... My sister is left-handed and knit/crochet videos would be helpful for her too)

Thank you Rosanna! 😊The a/c in the apartment will be getting one more small repair (and will be turned off this coming week), so I might be less busy in the next few days, if things heat up again. I don't seem to be a "hot weather crocheter" LOL

Hi Cathy, I picked up crochet when I found myself with much more time on my hands a few years ago, and have loved it from the start. Your tropical bird poncho is so pretty. Great application of the colors. Did you see Tracy’s/I love loopy crochet message requesting we watch some of her videos because she’s been ill and hasn’t been able to do many videos lately…sounds like just what you are looking for😊. “Talking distance” 😂 that’s a keeper.
