That spitfire is either extremely dumb or is having an extremely bad day. I never thought I'd see someone report because the plane that killed them was flying in a different direction than they were. Have you tried out the P-51 C-10? I can't seem to be able to figure out a climb IAS, and it just ends up feeling like an inferior P-47. I can't build energy as fast, and I seem to lose it quicker. I actually got shot down when in it by you a couple days ago, if you remember.
Basically better P51 D5 As climb rate the reference is from wwiiaircraftperformance said that optimal climb speed is 272 IAS on lower alt. tbh almost all amerikan plane are quite difference than other nation the faster you go the better you climb. shallow climb work best.

I usually have it set at 90-94%
Great video! Personally I would refrain from engaging aircraft above 10,000 feet due to the extreme power loss. It also seems to work better when bombing bases first then engaging fighters
Adam, can you do a video on the A7Ms? I recently bought the premium one even though i heard it was nerfed, but i just cant figure it out completly....It feels way too clumsy and slow. I have no reference of how it was before the nerf, but now I get the feeling that it only works relatively fine within a very small margin of speeds, lets say 300 to 450 kph...Anywhere outside of that speed range it is either a brick or a ball of elevator compression...Its really frustrating, i dont know if its me or the nerf

Yeah the game is actually nice when you can run good graphics. I'd recommend starting a new PC account, and of course don't buy the premiums you already have on your Xbox account and focus on the trees you don't already have unlocked on your old account.
Hey Adam, how old is this footage? It looks like its taken before hispano nerf. Interesting choice of playstyle. I usually take bombs, climb by the side of the map to around 3.5k metres, drop them on bases and then go for fighters. Sadly, sometimes by that time 70% of fighters are dead, because they dont bother climbing. I have also noticed this plane has very strange thermodynamics. If you keep running it on close to 100 % for 20+ minutes, it is able to overheat even at below 80% throttle, which to me looks really wrong.
It's 6 months old or so. To my knowledge, Hispanos haven't been changed for over a year, they feel the same as they did a year ago. Yeah thermos are odd on this plane.

Had a match a couple days ago (forgot which map) where it was American/Japan vs the world. Our 2 american fighters had been shot down and it was only the japanese left, they only had 1 plane left and it was this speedy demon. I only got a single hit on him from a headon-dodge he just stayed out of range of everyone's guns. I luckily had brought extra fuel in my Clipped A6M3 so i volunteered as bait and endlessly dodging his passes until the rest of my team drained the tickets for a victory.

yup, i loved that map, now its meh thanks to that, it removes the advantage of heavy fighters and interceptors with air spawn and makes bomber interception even more easier that most of the time they never destroy a base
it just gets worse in the Air Battle maps that everybody hates, everybody, be it bombers or fighters, spawning at almost the same altitude, and the map being excessively big, is just a painful experience to climb for 5minutes in a heavy fighter or an interceptor, while you see a figther with good climb rate 2-3km above you, Fw190A are unplayable due to engine getting a stroke above 5km, and pure attackers and bombers shouldnt even bother with spawning in those maps, a good airspawn map would be Norway, short distance to targets so bombers and attackers can do something before gettin clapped, and heavy fighters/interceptord actually spawn higher enough than fighter so they cannot be in a disadvantage(I remember carrying my team in a Me-410A multiple times, good old days of getting Norway every other match)

Maneuvering Energy Retention. Essentially it's a measure of how much energy (speed) an aircraft loses when maneuvering. @@dsdy1205 Depends what you mean by limited. These days, turboprops at low altitude can be limited by gearbox limits indeed. In general though, turboprops can't provide more power than they do because they need to keep their turbine entry temperature below their limit for damage and life of the parts.
That's awesome to see. I usually run bombs go wide hit targets bombers miss then in the return hit people fighting low just out run them wait till they get bored turn around rinse and repeat

280 or so (haven't tested it yet though). Don't go off on your own, and if an enemy sticks on you you need to bait them for your team. Generally you won't outturn any enemy, and you won't outrun much more than half of what you face.
I’ve had quite a few good games playing the wyvern with bombs and then climbing afterwards. Flank around the map and let the battle get heated between the 2 teams, bomb the base and then climb up to start engaging. Still not as good as playing it as a pure fighter though.
@@fattyMcGee97 I do it the other way, outflank and climb with bombs, gives me the chance to dive away and run if spotted. Bomb base and then return to the low furball. If i straff ground targets I keep my speed up and long straight runs along the target area rather than turn turn turn

10:07 why didn't you go back to help? especially since that 109 is one of the last fighters left, you could have went back and finished the 109 fast... I'm surprised you just extended there... edit: at 9:58 right as the 109 turned off, you could have climbed at a 30-60 degree angle away from the 109 and p47 fight, getting closer but not getting close too fast, to present yourself as a threat.
I expected the P47 to have the situation under control to be honest, given the starting position and energy advantage of the P47. If I turned back too early, I'd predict it would end in a headon since the Bf109 wouldn't try to 1vs2 both of us. He only had to turn 90 degrees to face me again. By the time I would have liked to turn back, the P47 had already died so I'd be going in with an energy disadvantage.

100% is a good rule of thumb, can do low 90s% to improve cooling a bit, but put it back to 100% when you're above 4km or you'll lose power.

Depends what your definition of vertical MER is. Ta152H has the best MER.

yup, i loved that map, now its meh thanks to that, it removes the advantage of heavy fighters and interceptors with air spawn and makes bomber interception even more easier that most of the time they never destroy a base
@@toki_tsu_kaze5511 Yeah it makes airspawn aircraft relatively worse on airspawn maps.
it just gets worse in the Air Battle maps that everybody hates, everybody, be it bombers or fighters, spawning at almost the same altitude, and the map being excessively big, is just a painful experience to climb for 5minutes in a heavy fighter or an interceptor, while you see a figther with good climb rate 2-3km above you, Fw190A are unplayable due to engine getting a stroke above 5km, and pure attackers and bombers shouldnt even bother with spawning in those maps, a good airspawn map would be Norway, short distance to targets so bombers and attackers can do something before gettin clapped, and heavy fighters/interceptord actually spawn higher enough than fighter so they cannot be in a disadvantage(I remember carrying my team in a Me-410A multiple times, good old days of getting Norway every other match)

What is MER.
Maneuvering Energy Retention. Essentially it's a measure of how much energy (speed) an aircraft loses when maneuvering. @@dsdy1205 Depends what you mean by limited. These days, turboprops at low altitude can be limited by gearbox limits indeed. In general though, turboprops can't provide more power than they do because they need to keep their turbine entry temperature below their limit for damage and life of the parts.

8:40 why flaps for the shoot?
To try and get the appropriate lead. If I could turn just a bit better I would have gotten a shot there, and flaps help turn better in the short term.

280 or so (haven't tested it yet though). Don't go off on your own, and if an enemy sticks on you you need to bait them for your team. Generally you won't outturn any enemy, and you won't outrun much more than half of what you face.

in my opinion wyvern are EZ kills you have fools loaded with bombs going for that bases turn your 109 and just some shot get their engine on fire
Yeah most people don't use the Wyvern well.
I’ve had quite a few good games playing the wyvern with bombs and then climbing afterwards. Flank around the map and let the battle get heated between the 2 teams, bomb the base and then climb up to start engaging.
Still not as good as playing it as a pure fighter though.
@@fattyMcGee97 I do it the other way, outflank and climb with bombs, gives me the chance to dive away and run if spotted. Bomb base and then return to the low furball. If i straff ground targets I keep my speed up and long straight runs along the target area rather than turn turn turn

10:07 why didn't you go back to help? especially since that 109 is one of the last fighters left, you could have went back and finished the 109 fast... I'm surprised you just extended there...
edit: at 9:58 right as the 109 turned off, you could have climbed at a 30-60 degree angle away from the 109 and p47 fight, getting closer but not getting close too fast, to present yourself as a threat.
I expected the P47 to have the situation under control to be honest, given the starting position and energy advantage of the P47. If I turned back too early, I'd predict it would end in a headon since the Bf109 wouldn't try to 1vs2 both of us.
He only had to turn 90 degrees to face me again. By the time I would have liked to turn back, the P47 had already died so I'd be going in with an
energy disadvantage.
