Bravo Davide sei un'inesauribile fonte di soluzioni per il lavoro di liuteria, penso che tu sia il miglior didatta del mondo riguardo al lavoro di liutaio, chi c'è così dettagliato quanto te?

😊 Going against the grain is always scary, especially on the spruce, even with super sharp tools you must always be very careful to be able to stop as soon as you feel that the wood is no longer cutting but begins to tear. That would mean it's time to change the direction of the cut

Bravissimo complimenti 🎻💯.

Hello Davide, hope you are doing well. Thank you for making and share all the wonderful videos they are fantastic. Can you tell me what is the size of your Razor Strop Blade Sharpener you use? Brand, size and width? Thank you and take care.

My strop is made with a 35x2x150mm soft leather strip glued to a 35x15x200mm wooden lath. No brand, I bought the leather from a shoemaker. Thiers Issard aluminum oxide razor paste is applied to the leather with some drops of mineral oil.
This is the paste I use: www.dictum.com/en/sharpening-devices-fic/thiers-issard-sharpening-paste-709019

Hi Davide, are these gouges also have a angle around 21.5 degrees?

    • @DavideSora

21.5° would be a bit too acute an angle, the sharpening would not last long and you should keep the gouge too low towards the plate while cutting. I use a sharpening angle of about 25°

If you ever have to have caterac surgery do not let them talk you into getting replacement lenses for distance. I did that and I lost my ability to see good up close and close up glasses just do not cut it for working with wood.

Luckily for the moment I don't have this problem, but I will take your suggestion into account if necessary, thanks for the advice
