There are different global beauty pageants and they are usually handled as franchise. Sometimes the same organization owns more one franchise and they are allowed to elect different contestant for each at the same event. This is what the lady on minute 10:10 meant when she said that 4 ladies could win and there were 4 crowns. On the other hand, other pageants like Miss Universe and Miss World do not allow local organizations to send their contestants if they were not the main winners of a local event. In these cases, the two pageants are organized by another organization that makes two separated events. That means in Venezuela we have a lot of beauty pageants every year and the organizations who owns the franchises are usually TV Channels. So, it becomes not only a pageants competition, but it is also a TV rating competition.
