    It's fascinating how you can imprint your "sonic signature" on every track, no matter what gear you are using. Well done!

    That softer lead sound with the slight vibrato that comes in before the midpoint of the piece sounds very Eno-esque ❤ Great composition and love the use of noise.

    What are your thoughts on Syntakt vs Digitone as a standalone ambient instrument? I'm wondering about things like, does Syntakt push more towards percussion or is that just a cosmetic difference? And how easily can one do noise sounds with Digitone (like pure simple noise, or using noise to modulate something else)?

    • @JoggingHouse
      @JoggingHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like both. Syntakt is leaning a bit more towards percussion. No pure noise on Digitakt. No noise as mod source on an Elektron box.

      @@JoggingHouse thanks, you're fast! It's a shame how often noise is overlooked on synths and devices, even though it can make such a difference without any special tech requirements. The Noise Engineering synth engines on the Microfreak are a good example.

    In the darkened bedroom of a rented house, a woman sits at the foot of her bed, holding a UV lamp. She remembers playing with her husband and son on a beach, somewhere; the memory is distant, like the murmur of a dead heart. The sunlight is so bright in her mind's eye, yet her reality is the darkness. It is cold in the room. She slowly caresses the power switch on the lamp, like she does every morning, while blood slowly rolls down her cheeks. The phone rings. She answers.
    "Yes?"
    "It's here," a strange voice says.
    "I'll be down momentarily," the woman replies.
    She pulls the UV lamp from the outlet, and bites the cord in half with her teeth, and then throws it under the bed. It makes a sound as it impacts the coffin underneath.

    What’s the Most versatile piece gear that helps shape your sound?

  • @robertgarvansnyder4665

    Absolutely gorgeous!! Which machine voices are you using here? I'm guessing that oceanic noise texture is Sy Bits. Super inspiring stuff, to see how far you can take the Syntakt.

    • @JoggingHouse
      @JoggingHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I use a different engine on each track. It was a way to trying out as much as possible to learn the Syntakt. So all the synth engines plus some percussion engines than I shaped into synth like voices.

    Very nice, I love the clean & simple setup. Subscribed!
    Is any of the ambient hiss from the tape or is there a hiss/noise track from the Syntakt?

    • @JoggingHouse
      @JoggingHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It‘s the tape plus noisy Syntakt sounds being fed to its delay.

  • @ambientsession

    holy moly, instant subscribe to your channel. good job.
    so this is syntakt only? no post effects?
    may I ask what (model) tape recorder you are recording it on? how did you digitalize it afterwards?

    • @JoggingHouse
      @JoggingHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. It‘s Syntakt only. The recorder is a Revox B77. I just rewind and record the audio into Ableton. There I do some light eq edits if needed.
