I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil, and sometimes watercolor. The vast majority of what I share here on youtube involves my creation process: paintings, drawings, time lapses, tips, and occasionally artist vlogs, where I share bits of my life as an artist. Creating art is my greatest passion and I'm thankful for the chance to share it with you. ♥

Sunflowers are my favorite. I have three tattooed on my arm and LOVE growing them. The last time I did, they grew over 12 feet.
Sunflowers are gonna be my may bullet journal colors. Brown yellow and orange
I loved it! 💕 nature is my inspiration too: animals and plants, and I'm frequently asked "why don't you paint something else?" And I'm like "why would I paint something else if nature is BEAUTIFUL and it is what makes me happy?" 😊 Greetings and lots of love from Mexico

There's no need to feel "bad" like that towards plants Lena, I have the same situation. I name my plants, and look forward to them every single day. They bring me joy as silly as that may sound. Best part about plants: they keep all your secrets and never talk back at you xD

This is one of my favourite art series for inspiration. You have even inspired me to get my own moleskine and fill it up with drawing of things I love! I would love to see a video with your progression over the years, seeing some of your older pieces and compared to the new. I am new to oils but your videos help so much. I cannot wait to improve my skills. Keep up all your amazing work

when me and my brothers where kids we'd have sunflower races every year. it when in stages who's sprouts first, then who's blooms first and finally who's was the tallest. my dad did it that way so that each of us would win. my dad is a outdoors type, I love nature and have just split my peace Lilly into 3 plants.

I love sunflowers!!!!!! My yard is full of them!! 12 ft tall! Over my fence. Some can bloom three flowers per stem. I am about to paint one too. Thanks for this. I love the way you blended the yellows on the petals.
This was so fun to watch! Just this morning I went out to do my daily check of the garden and there were new baby bush bean sprouts and my pumpkins have sprouted as well! I am there with you. Garden inspiration is some powerful magic stuff. :3 And the end product is absolutely gorgeous on that sunflower.

Taking walks in the wood show differebt textures and shadows from the sun ive always use the to get ideas love your paibting love how it shows all the emotione on the design and the attention for detail keep on painting

(QUESTION)How did you come to love gardening?
For me it was watching my mom garden that did it, and it changed my life from a very young age. I was too tiny to remember most of it. My mother has pictures of me helping her at like two years old. every time I see them I think "aw so cute!" course It mostly reminds me of my baby boys now. lol :P

What a beautiful sunflower! I'm curious about your medium, though. Are you using oils in your sketchbook? Does it "age" well?
sandrinesgallery I was wondering same. Lena is one of my favorites. Her work almost glows it's so beautiful and she presents it with such ease. Wonderful.
I agree, it's gorgeous!
I know she puts gesso in her sketchbook before using oils sometimes and that looks like oil paint there. Oil on paper works, but I wouldn’t really recommend it for more than just studies. Oils naturally break down just about anything and paper is no exception. So sure it’ll probably still be fine within your own lifetime but anything much after is kind of questionable in terms of it “aging” as you say
Lex the Artist, I thought about gesso, but it doesn't look like the paper has anything on it. I didn't realize that oils would break down the paper, I was mostly wondering if the painting would end up cracking because of the flexible surface it's on. But I guess if you're just doing studies for practice it doesn't really matter. Thank you for your response.

Hello Lena! You have an amazing skill! I'm drawing either but i'm struggling using my pallette and wasting the colors, i end up having too many colors on my pallete that are mixed up and no space left on it. How do i fix this problem? What did you do to your pallette at the end of the video? Did you clean it and let all the colors go away? Thanksssss

Very pretty flower painting, the realistic portrayal of lighting helps so much. Also, fun fact, sunflowers are the symbol of nuclear disarmament because some can absorb or totally reject radiation and heavy metals in soil as they grow.
