    You are THE only one that did a proper review on this specific thinkpad model on TH-cam. Some of us can’t afford the top notch thinkpads, so having you review this E585 thinkpad is awesome. Thank you for that!

    Don't you afraid that charging via usb-c will not be very reliable? All my smartphones stoped to work because usb port was damaged and it was not possible to charge them....

    I hope they release a version with the new Ryzen 4000 8 core CPUs this year.
    I could get one with 32 GB Ram, 1 TB Nvme and 1 TB HDD for around 950€ with student discount.
    If it had an 8 core cpu this would be great for compiling time and VMs.
    Installing Ubuntu and this thing will be my main device for software engineering the next 4 years!

    Really nice review! Unbelievable! This reviewer answered questions before I can raise them. It was almost telepathic. My first thought, raced towards
    ...
    A) what about the comparison with the A485?
    B) what would I give up in clock speed?
    C) what would I give up in terms of features?
    ( back-lit keys are very important)
    Oftentimes, I don't suscribe. However, something tells me you are keeping on track with following up on the faster AMD Thinkpad series. I must suscribe!

    Hi, I have a some question about e585
    First one: Battery Time?
    Second: Fan Noise and Temp?
    Third: Is it more robust(quality) than Ideapad 330V Series?
    I have little confusion, I want to buy a laptop for programming and sometimes play old games.(Lol,Cs vb.) but i can not choice, should i buy e585?
    Do you think I should take V330(8250u+1tb hdd + 128 gb ssd + full hd) or e585(maybe e580)?

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      E585 has about 4-5 hours battery life at typical use (i.e. several browser tabs and youtube videos) with 100% screen brightness. At 50% brightness you can get over 6-8 hours of battery life. With lighter usage or lower screen brightness the battery life is a bit longer. In general, I would recommend the E585 over the E580. It's newer and the Vega 8 or 10 graphics unit is a lot more powerful than anything the i5 or i7 has. This point is relevant if you want to play MOBAs or do light gaming on it or do amateur video editing with applications like Movie Studio or Vegas, etc.

    Great video, for the charging on this, can you plug the USB C directly into a lower wattage USB C wall outlet, like an 18w or 36w outlet?

    I've read about thermal throttling which concerns me on both models (A and E), if the E had a secondary battery option like the A series, I'd def go with that. But since it doesn't, I'm waiting to hear more about how CPU performance is on both models.
    Edit: I'm also curious of the Ryzen Mobile Pro differences from the Ryzen Mobile CPUs, since they are listed differently on Lenovo's website, I haven't been able to find too much information on them.

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Ryzen PRO series processors come with a longer warranty and more security features that you usually see deployed in a corporate environment.

    • @alienpolygon6926
      @alienpolygon6926 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameTechReviews Thanks for the information, do you plan on testing thermals in the A/E series you've unboxed so far? Not many people are doing reviews besides FPS/GPU benchmarking in games, and I plan to use mine for productivity and Blender, which I think are more CPU intensive depending on the renderer.

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@alienpolygon6926 I might do thermal testing but from my own tests with the A485, it doesn't seem to be thermal limited. I think a bios update could improve boost speed performance. So far it seems to heat up to around 75c which is not really that bad.

    • @alienpolygon6926
      @alienpolygon6926 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameTechReviews That's a relief, as mine is shipping next week, regardless if you end up doing them, it'd be beneficial. Thanks again for making these.
