《瑶族舞曲》由刘铁山、茅沅创作。作品以民间舞曲《长鼓歌舞》为素材用管弦乐的手法，丰富地展现了瑶族民众欢歌热舞地喜庆的面貌，生动地体现了能歌善舞的瑶族人民的生活情趣。作品突出了民族乐器的音色与性能，善用同组乐器的不同音色组合。后由彭修文改篇，其改编工作差不多是重新创作，是一首按照“西方化”的表现手法，由中国民族乐曲改编成的现代乐曲。
The “Dance of the Yao Tribe” was composed by Liu Tieshan and Mao Yuan. The work uses the folk dance “Long Drum Song and Dance” as material and employs orchestral techniques to richly display the festive appearance of the Yao people singing and dancing with enthusiasm, vividly reflecting the life and interests of the Yao people who are good at singing and dancing. The piece highlights the timbre and performance of ethnic musical instruments, skillfully using different timbral combinations of the same group of instruments. Later, Peng Xiuwen revised the piece, and his adaptation was almost a re-creation. It is a modern piece adapted from a Chinese ethnic music piece using “Westernized” performance techniques.
