Sparg0 is insane so not saying the result would have been different, but Ned def wasn't playing at his best this set; a lot of tilt and uncharacteristic options. Really unfortunate he missed top 8 this way but good run and plays otherwise

I swear Scintila has to simultaneously be the most bullshit counter in the game and the most dogshit counter in the game.
Ned's fist bump showed in a second how frustrated he was after the match. As a Sephiroth main I felt it and it hurts 🤕

Hypest set of the tourney, but damn, even if I'm also a Sparg0 fan, I was rooting for Ned! I feel like he should of tried to 2 frame Cloud with down tilt and down air. Also go a bit more off stage. Cloud is easy to gimp and 2 frame and a lot of players are letting him come back for free... And Seph is insane at edgeguarding!

Ned needs to be more patient with his down tilt when Cloud is recovering at ledge. He's at least a second too early. He needs to mix up his ledge game. He did normal get up too often

How can they go to Small Battlefield TWICE and not play any FF7 music for that matchup?
Whoever decided to end every video the exact instant the last game is over--made a mistake. No way to know when that is until it happens unless I want to spoil the outcomes every single time by hovering over the progress bar nonstop. If I want to check comments then I get booted to the next video before I have the chance to press pause.
With one of the best sephiroth I know, I thought it might be a somewhat even game but spargo proved me wrong

God only knows how much I asked to see best Cloud vs best Sephiroth. It was one of my Competitive Smash wet dreams and in the end it just was a boring 3-0. LOL

Ned was out of his element and titled early on. I've seen him play way better than this.
@@jasonlobo2350 Maybe you’re right. I’m not sure. Tweek just does a few things differently that I think would increase the chance of winning. It’s hard for me to pinpoint. It’s admittedly just an intuitive feeling

It’s seems to me that cloud doesn’t have any end lag on most of his moves especially back air. I know Spargo is skilled but it’s a little ridiculous.

MY guy, you have the longer sword, you have the better reaction time out of shield when winged, you also have long range projectile pressure, and you have advantage on the ground, and your slide can go under clouds nair. know the matchup. 4 landing lag punishes missed. This was sad to see, aggressive spargo or not, play your game, not his.
With all due respect my boi, its easier said than done, I'm a Sephiroth main too and when i face clouds locally or online some of them i beat some of them i have problems with then there is sparg0...cloud in general has an amazing frame data, movemente, air speed, range and strong moves plus his limit makes him a real treat to deal with, so Sephiroth being super light and with lame frame data you gotta be super careful and watch for every move you throw cause cloud can throw everything without hesitation like 90% of the cast lol
@@pavoman3 then for the problematic clouds, I guess a trip back to the lab to find a countermeasure is the key 🔑. I’ve practice this matchup this week with my main and I don’t have a near perfect record against cloud but this is due to tech I find difficult to master. It’s my problem , I own it and deal with it .
@@MugEdge8 i feel ya, i been practicing perfect shield to counter and oos footstool dair plus some other interesting tech with seph on various characters and well against cloud it works like a charm, just gotta keep practicing to be more consistent and voila!

Because playing sephiroth a generally slow charcter is fighting an uphill battle often times

The exact weakness is exacerbated by the poor attitude which feeds the negative downward spiral.
Sephrith is hard to play very well consistently against fast characters.
But I really enjoyed the Japanese player zackray when he first used sephy.
I feel that how sephirtoh should play.
Mash less buttons and be a surgical knife.
ngl this is one of the worst matchups for sephiroth you need to severely out skill your opponent to win this matchup as sephiroth cuz I personally have NEVER seen a sephiroth beat a cloud player
It's not a bad matchup for Seph at all. It's just cause it's Sparg0 lol
As a Cloud and Sephiroth main I think this matchup is pretty even if not slightly winning in Cloud's favor. To play optimally as Seph you need to camp and whiff punish like crazy against someone like Cloud who enjoys being in your face. Not to mention Cloud's safe aerials and Sephiroth's poor OOS options, however, Sephiroth absolutely destroys Cloud offstage. If Cloud doesn't clip to ledge Seph gets a free 2 frame or counter.

@@Allegro_SSB Yeah, Cloud does not snap the ledge when he recovers, and I feel like Ned should of gone for down tilt 2 frames. Even down air. Even matchup I think. Slightly Cloud favor on stage since he can mash more, but Seph detroys him off stage.
I think the one thing that makes Cloud win this mu is his back air, poor Sephy was done extremely dirty so he can’t punish oppressive fast moves like that at all
