- Here is the third Flavors Of Fusion mix, a carefully curated selection from my collection of LPs and CDs. This mix highlights many obscure and underground smooth jazz and fusion artists of the 80s and 90s, unnoticed by many. Most of the music in this playlist is lost, and hard to find anywhere today. Sure thing. Same here really, if I could sum up my musical roots, it would be the sounds in this mix. Loud drums, guitar, bass and thick funky synths...oh and a bit of sax haha
@@KJCMuzique for me it’s all bass guitar, and the other guys can play along I suppose.
Fusion seems built to put the bass where it belongs, holding all the musical power.

@@mountainman8775 Yes was one of those early bands where bass was a lead instrument. Cannot recommend them enough but they're not exactly the same as this here.

'Claraboia' was a previously unreleased track that I discovered that was recorded around the same time as 'Baleia Azul', which I also have on CD from 1987. I could upload the LPs and CD that I have by him

@@chogussy721 I mean, I agree that they are two distinct genres, but they share this weird feeling of nostalgia which I think kinda puts them into this one obscure group of genres.
@@alexandersonmei To be honest i dont feel nostalgia with jazz fusion but its interesting that everyone perceives it in a different way. At the end it doesnt matter, this music is great anyway!
The problem with vaporwave is that a lot of it is either sampling jazz fusion or trying to imitate it, but as a joke. Like “look how corny and old this sounds, do you feel like a kid again?” Whereas jazz music is ideally a sincere expression, and somthing forever young. Vaporwave would sound better if the beat making guys understood that. I’m just surprised no jazz people are out there making millions playing vaporwave on a keyboard with their own hands. Seems like a low hanging fruit and an obvious area of fusion
