I would recommend "tomorrow when the war began" for an Australian book series. There is also a movie as well which is good and a series (which I personally couldn't get into after the movie). The series is by John Marsden who is an Australian author and does an excellent job of keeping you captivated and hooked through the whole series. I think there's seven books in the series in total. The series is about an a group of friends who go away camping one weekend and come back to find their home town has been invaded and they essentially have to go to war. I just loved the adventure, but most of all the personalities of the characters and how you become so invested in each and every one of them. It also has a sprinkle of romance in there as well :)
I read The Secret History when I was 16 and absolutely loved it! That was my first year where I got into reading and hated a lot of classics (modern or otherwise). I'm 26 now and want to re-read because I feel like I would appreciate it even more now 🥰
having a kindle and kindle unlimited is a game changer. especially when you’re reading on your phone/ipad. i would recommend trying kindle unlimited and reading on your ipad first to see how much you like it
I do read some books on my iPad currently, but want the kindle so I can read in the dark, take it to the beach, battery last longer etc! I like the iPad but just has some limitations! ☺️

In the middle of reading Love Stories now! 😍 It’s such a nice easy read with all of the different stories and I can already see myself in years to come just picking it up to read a story here or there. I’m not gonna lie I’ve cried so many tears already but not from sadness just from a mixture of happiness, the beauty of the stories and the true human emotion that is so evident in his writing. I adore the way it’s written! Highly recommend! xx
A court of thorns and roses is my least favourite in the series. I found it hard to get into and the love interest to be very unlikeable, but let me tell you, if you have this same problem, STICK WITH IT! trust me, get through the 1st book, the 2nd book in the series is literally one of my favourite books of all time!!

Here's the thing-"The Secret History" does not feel like 600 pages. I flew through it and most books I read are typically between 300-400 pages, so that size is not the norm for me. Definitely give it a go! It's a great one and I truly believe it will be a classic :)

you should definitely pick up the second in the ACOTAR series, it’s sooo much better than the first in my opinion. i didn’t love the first book either but ACOMAF has me in a choke hold
This is very exciting. I have just started to read Reminders of Him. I am at 20 per cent on my Kindle. And honestly, I am loving it! I am hoping to complete it in the next day or so before I can start with Verity. I am also looking to read many books of TJR this year. I have so far only read Evelyn Hugo. I hope you have a great time reading these books, as much as I do!
For me, I loved the first ACOTAR book and the following were just ok. TOG is OK as well. BUT! I would recommend Laini Taylor as a fantasy author for you, I think you'd really enjoy her writing. Daughter of smoke and bone is amazing. 🥰

I loved the secret history sm !! It is definitely a thick one but I managed to get through it in 3 days I think because I was just that hooked ig. Richard being such a side character in his own life and the whole shebang but also being the perspective we're told the story from was such an interesting decision to make on the author's part and made the whole book so much more idk maybe easier to get through? He was the character that all of us ordinary readers latched onto when the other characters got a bit too much and we needed someone to empathise with and relate to. That being said the other characters were so outlandish and pretentious, yet so sure of themselves that you couldn't help but read about them in awe of their confidence and understand where Richard was coming from in regards to his complete infatuation with their lifestyle and aesthetic. I'll stop there because I think discovering what you like (or hate if that's the route you end up going down lmao) about the book is one of the most enjoyable part of the experience but I will say it was the second dark academia book I read (after the atlas six) and such a good introduction to the sub-genre. Definitely recommend you read it whenever you think you might be in the mood for it !!

You should definitely read The Spanish love Deception because it is worth the hype. Yes I know it's long, and yes I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first but it just keeps getting better and better. The two main characters are so cute I just love everything about it. It is a slow burn, enemies to lovers and has the most beautiful style of writing so I hope you enjoy it. I also can't wait to read Beautiful World Where are You by Sally Rooney it's on my TBR list.

It Happened One Summer - I was so excited about this one but it was honestly a bit of a let down. There was no slow burn at all and it was a little obnoxious. I would usually love quick interaction between the two main characters but it was too predictable.

I've read both The Hating Game and 99% Mine and while I enjoyed them both, I didn't love them. 99% Mine is a childhood crush to lovers trope, however, it has the cheesiness and smut of The Hating Game and for that reason, I'm not sure if you'll love it. I'm interested to hear what you think!!
I really didn’t like the Throne of Glass series. I read similar genres to you, plus a little bit of dystopian and fantasy, and I read the entire TOG series only to be thoroughly bored by book 3 :/

Yes I do!! Love my library! Only problem is that so often when I go to borrow a book it’s on hold for months 😭 but I do still use it when I can!
