By adopting the Ring Pit Method of sugarcane cultivation, the sugarcane yield has increased from an average of about 700 quintals/hectare to about 2000 quintals/ hectare in farmers’ fields, registering an increase of 167 to 195 %.
Under this ‘ring pit’ system, around 2700 pits are thus made per acre. After planting Setts in this method, care is taken to see that only thirty mother shoots are allowed to develop which then leads to development of robust and healthy millable canes of 1.25- 1.75 kg each. This technology can give a yield of 800-1100 quintals/acre (or around three times of conventional method) if the recommended package of practices is fully adopted.

Like,how many sugar cane can be grown in a pit maximum?50,60,70 or 80.
Second trench method required 3 or 4 sm thik soil cover over seed of cane ,then how this method does need cover of 3 inches?

Third in case of rain ,how can we save our seed of cane?Means case of water log.

40 to 50 cane is the best, more than that will not yield good.
single rain will not effect it but continuous rain may ,upto 3 inch rain no problem.
abou deleafing is not perception, that is reality.

But 6 inches is really big depth,water log may be harmful
water will drain if soil is losse .....rain will be problem in clay type soil.

Sir you can use machies to make pit , you can apply normal fertilizers which you normally use in sugarcane , but apply only on pit to save fertilizers .
