Yeah I served with one of those creepy losers. He was obsessed with her being actually barefoot in the house and pregnant, no joke. As soon as she gave birth, he wanted another child and another. He had like 6 children when I got out and was loving life. He also cheated on her multiple times when we went away for drills. He just had to pay the bills, but could sleep around and had no responsibility otherwise. On Sunday, he would sleep in while she had to get all the children ready, he woke up 5 minutes before they left. Just a lazy sack of garbage. The ignorance of this older generation that argues the good old days. F those days, relationships should be equal. Acting like it is harder to work a 9-5 than it is to run a homestead. It can be, but that isn't the argument they use. They are not all scumbag losers just most of them, they got a great deal by the men in charge back then and they said f fair. Most jobs are not that taxing that you cannot do some housework when you get home. These good old day people are just lazy and want to do 20% of the work of a family and relationship and skate by because they pay bills. The sad part is when the scumbag doesn't make enough money and she has to work but he still requires her to do all the housework. Just worthless human beings.
Yeah it’s denying reality quite a bit. Also our elders told us about the nightmare of getting replaced at 55 for a younger woman (didn’t happen to their grandmothers, but started happening to their mothers generation) whilst being out of the workforce. No current skills, no portfolio, no 401k, won 0 in the divorce, and almost time to retire… Homelessness is a woman’s biggest fear. And we just can’t count on anyone but ourselves anymore. We’ve seen the worst stories of enough other women by now, enough to suggest it’s not a once in a blue moon event happening sparsely to women. Sadly it’s common

My brother got married at 21 to a woman he met 6 months beforehand. His college was basically a Christian speed dating service, so it was normalized for him. Surprise, surprise, their marriage did NOT give them the perfect life Tim Pool pretends couples in the 1950s had. They immediately had a baby, had to drop out of school, and nearly divorced several times. Having a husband certainly didn't guarantee my sister-in-law a comfortable life. They live with her parents, because she is unable to work (Tim Pool would see that as a bonus), and he can't make enough to support a family of four without an advanced degree. Both of them would have been better off alone in the first half of their twenties. Almost as if you DO need some time to figure yourself out before legally binding yourself to someone else and raising children.
You could definitely get a meat patty + slice of cheese on a bun for that price. They're not talking about a combo meal or even a solo "quarter pounder with cheese". There's literally an item on the menu just called "cheeseburger". It's roughly the size of what they put in a happy meal for kids and it was on the dollar menu back in the day.
Try living in a lower COL area. It was only this year that in STL metro Taco Bell increased the price of their cheesy bean and rice burritos from $1 to $1.49.
Right, the McDouble hasn't been a dollar in well over a decade, but as usual he doesn't show his source because that is the bane of conservatives. It does prove that McDonald's is price gouging, because from 2014 to 2024 the McDouble went from $1.19 to $3.19 which is 168% increase compared to the inflation rate barely breaking ~30%. That shouldn't happen under capitolism that is regulated properly. That is how you know the system is broken.

OMG, I'm so tired of men saying women were happier in the 50s/60s. No they weren't. Women were taking "mother's little helper" (whatever version they could) to tolerate lives they HATED. They may have loved their kids, but they were tired of their husbands. Tim seriously lacks perspective.
Not only is it not the be all and end all, in general it is actively BAD for most women. If it wasn’t for falling in love and everything that happens with that, no woman would take the deal that’s on offer in most marriages And I LIKE men and I LIKE sex, but marriage? I’m not going there again
That was my mistake at 19. We both got into for the wrong reasons. Once we were married he changed a lot. He'd dated, proposed to, married a post punk gal - but as his Mrs I was supposed to alter to be some kind of Stepford Wife. Tim in the 1950's would have found himself on the outs of society, an artsy high school drop out with very little to offer than his opinion. He wouldn't have been a dominant or influential man back then either

The 1950's would actually make Tim Pool a better person as he would have have to adapt to the world or starve to death.

Jordan Pederson, drank apple juice and almost died. I blame modern medicine. A hundred years ago, guys like this woulda succumbed to a stiff breeze in childhood.
I think the answer lies within your own question. Some men's insecurity that they try to project as confidence and experience. Psychologically speaking it feels good for some to point out perceived flaws in others in order to validate one's self. Just imagine wearing a winter cap everyday in a hot state like Florida. Insecurity
These people refuse to acknowledge, that even to the most superficial women won't care how good looking you are, if your personality and behaviour is unacceptable. Instead, they insist on convincing themselves, that they need to be (physically) stronger and "manlier", and make themselves more (and more obviously) insecure, pathetic, and insufferable ...which, IMO, is very weak and unmanly.
Tim is like 35/36 right? Why the hell is HE not married with kids by now? The guy"s like 18 years late so WTF? Edit: oh I see the crew asked the same thing lol
I think that's Tim Pool's problem, when he goes out in the dating scene and puts the moves on women, and they choose to tell him they're all lesbians, he then blames that all on feminism.
"Hikkikomori" is *_NOT_* the same as incel! Hikkikomori are those who isolate themselves in their homes. Regardless of sex/gender, or their views on sex/gender. People who have withdrawn/fled from society. People who are shy, insecure, and/or fearful of interacting with others. It has absolutely nothing to do with incels, most of whom don't have the slightest hikkikomori-tendencies! Oh, and let's not forget: "Involuntary celibate" is a contradiction in terms. Celibacy is, by definition, *_a choice._*
Well it’s a perfect phrase imo. Incel. These men are typically so deliberately toxic that women don’t want to approach them. So they aren’t voluntarily wanting to repel women but are choosing to do so through indirect ways.
Yeah that was really annoying to me, he just like slips that in there and makes it about women when Hikkikomori has nothing to do with women. ALSO because if he had a functioning brain and the slightest bit of passion about his work he could actually do a whole deep dive on the falling birth rates of countries like Japan and contrast it with the US. Perhaps the fact that Japan doesnt have a strong current of Western Femininity could provide some useful insights on what hes talking about with America. But nah, that sounds like actual work and education; hed rather just quote random studies that fit his narrow viewpoint about women and then assume the rest ad hoc.
A lot of shared mental health issues between the groups though. They share a lot of the same reasons for being single. The only real difference is the hatred of women. My brother is an incel, he can get a girlfriend but after their first fight they never want to see him again. He thinks all women are evil and out to get him. It is a shared problem of mental health and a similar solution would help both groups.
@@Bound4Earth No. There are no shared mental issues, between the groups, nor any other similarities. Not in any way, shape, or form. Well... You could say that they are similar, in that they both *_have_* mental issues, but that's as far as the similarities go. Aside from that, I don't see how you could point to any way, in which they are the least bit similar.
@@ZarlanTheGreen I already explained it. They are almost identical. Neither approach any women and often stay away from public events where women will be. They share identical mental health issues in most aspects. The only thing they do not share is the hatred or blaming that incels have for women. Sounds like similar groups to me. The same treatment would benefit both groups equally. Both are not normal and need help. Just because one group looked in the wrong places online when desperate and hurting, doesn't mean their legitimate problems should be separated from an identical group of people. A lot of the incels strated off completely identical to Hikkikomori and their mental health kept declining. Both are in need of the same treatment and both can be fixed given time. Just because you hate one more doesn't mean they deserve what they are going through. My point is that one is not more acceptable than the other. They are both mental health issues of similar or nealy identical origins and identical treatments. People can choose to remain mentally unhealthy, but neither should be encouraged because they are hurting themselves in identical ways. Stop focusing on why they hate women, that is just another symptom.
The mean age for women to marry in England in 1647-1719 was 27. Twenty seven. Nobody outside of the landed gentry had arranged marriages at 16, because they had no serious capital investment, and in fact waited to marry until they had a secure financial situation to support a family. These weird ephebophile fantasies about 16 year old brides say nothing about history and everything about them.
I'd be cautious about that statistic. Back then, mortality rates were so high that many people would have gotten married multiple times over the course of their lives. Unless the statistics were limited to first marriages, it could give a distorted view as to the average age of when women married. Having said that, I do think you're right that women weren't married off as early as many believe they were in that time frame.
@@silentotto5099 Even so, women marrying younger due to overall life expectancy being shorter had little bearing on girls being selected specifically BECAUSE they were younger, like what OP was saying about the post hoc rationalisations men like this make, fuelled by their ephebo fantasies. The fact that overall life expectancy has skyrocketed and mortality rate has drastically declined makes their current-day views all the more creepy.
@@silentotto5099 Fair, but a large portion of that mortality statistic is newborns or children. Average life expectancy at the same time was around 30, but the average life expectancy for those who had lived to 25 was 50. So if you lived to marry at 20, it was certainly not unreasonable that your husband would catch a cannon ball at 23, but neither was it that the two of you would live to be 65. Besides, the fact that enough marriages happened past 30 to bring up the mean to 27 further speaks against the weird "The Wall" fantasy that high value males like Tim Pool seem to relish.
@@silentotto5099the high mortality rates was largely due to infant mortality. Once past the age of 5, the number drops significantly (50/60s). Still lower than today, but wouldn’t affect the marriage stat that OP is referring to
@@Likeicare96 Statistics from the 1700s that I've seen indicate that the average life expectancy in that time frame was closer to 35. As you suggest, infant mortality did most of the work in pulling that number down, but, on the flip side, it wouldn't take a huge number of second and third marriages to drive the average age for marriage up a few years. Anyway, I didn't say the OP was wrong, just that they should be cautious about the statistic unless they have more data on how the statistic was derived. As I stated, I'm in agreement with their basic point, that child brides in that era weren't as common as many believe.

@@silentotto5099 Fair, but a large portion of that mortality statistic is newborns or children. Average life expectancy at the same time was around 30, but the average life expectancy for those who had lived to 25 was 50.

Hun, dont you ever apologize for talking for a little over a minute in a group of men. Thats rediculous. You were owning a point and they were listening. You go hun. Preach babe, preach!
So does Tim want to go back to that era and have his job vanish? I swear this dude just says random stuff and never sounds intelligent doing it.
I suspect he, like many men who follow his 'logic', assumes that if the world were back to "the good old days" everything would be naturally swayed in his favor in a way that would make him more successful than he is now. The job market would heavily favor white men so he would have a good job. Women would be forced to marry for financial support so he would have gotten married to some very young woman who had no life of her own. He would have his 2 and a half kids and cheap house subsidized by the government, living in suburbia with his all white neighbors.
Well, I guess he could have been a local radio host.
I prioritized not being under someone else’s thumb when I moved out of the house at 18, and continued to solely prioritize my wants and needs until I ran into my now husband of 16 years when I was 36, owned my own company, and had my own mortgage. Guess what? When I ran into my partner at 36, he was stoked that I had my own mortgage. He did, too. We were in the same stage of life, we helped each other work on our houses and found we made a really good team.
We have 2 children (14 and 10) and are living our best lives because deciding to be partners has improved both of our lives…I can’t imagine I would feel the same way about getting married if I had to suddenly center everyone else in the family to the detriment of my own goals.
I would say this to any woman: it is better to live alone than live with the wrong person.
Thank you so much for this comment. I'm currently at a not so great stage in life, but comments like this help me know there still could be brighter days in the future - just have to stick around to see it. Thank you for this and happy you found a great partner!!!!

Tim constantly sucks his teeth, and smacks his lips, it's so GD annoying.

That Mc Donalds price has nothing to do with inflation and all with corporate greed. Over the period of time where that Cheeseburger last was 1$ to now we had a bit over 30% of inflation and yet prices rose over 100% for McDonalds and some items almost 300-400% that is not inflation ...
McDs profits rose last yr 2023, Bidens economy to 13 billion up 9%. Expanding profits not just treading water to keep up w inflation.
Look, we can't let things like reality get in the way of some good old fashioned propaganda.
@@vxicepickxv hmmm I guess. *nods*
"Inflation" is just a comparison of what did this thing used to cost vs what does it cost now. It's not a judgement about WHY the cost changed, it's a measure of how consumers are effected by the economy.
@@asdfghjkl-pb6kv that is wrong. Its a specific economic process that is a expression of purchasin power of money - price gauging is not inflation. There is a reason why we can project expected inflation into the future.
Don’t forget women who were unhappy in the 1950’s were at a high risk of psychiatric abuse.
Matt's 😂laugh in the background is my spirit animal
When did cheese burgers cost a buck? I googled and I got an 2008 article that dollar cheeseburgers were a thing of the past. I do have to say if you are measuring the quality of your life by the affordability of junk food, then you probably have it pretty good.
If these guys went back and lived in the 1950s they'd be begging to come back here. We have it better in almost every measurable way. And the ONLY reason the people in the 50s had it so easy economically was because of the post war economic boom. Before that there were plenty of hard times.
@@puffball4484 Yeah, I can understand after enduring the deprivations associated with the Great Depression, and the sacrifices made during the war effort, that almost anything would seem to be a relief from the uncertainties of their era. Tim Pool is so awkward and cringe its painful to watch.
None, absolutely zero, of Tim Pools audience can afford to have a "trad wife" and a "trad life".
That’s not true. I can, so your ignorant comment has already been refuted.
They assume that in this "traditional" world their situation would somehow be different.
They are not "Chad" enough 😂
I'm sure there are a handful of people listening to Tim that are incredibly awkward and have flawed views of what a relationship should look like or how it should work...but they do have a decent paying tech or business job that could fund a "trad wife."
tim pool will soon start making the claim that studio apartments have always been traditional.

‘Women being told they need to have a career…” because the average woman couldn’t POSSIBLY make up her own mind…
Emma's point from 12:00 - 12:30 is spot-on. People don't live their own lives anymore. They have to come back to their Mentor on TH-cam (T. Pool) who tells them that all women are monoliths and if it didn't work out with one on a first date, then well, "It figures" they must be flawed. Peterson is also of this ilk. men like this also think being a stay-at-home mom ISN'T work. They benefited from the unpaid and unrecognized labor, but dit was very much still labor. You can't clock out from it like you could an office job. the kids always require attention, the dishes always need to be washed, meals always need to be cooked. there is no day off from housework and childcare.

The funniest part of that was if you go back 200yrs from there, women married in their late 20s. It’s only natural a person would desire to marry fully mature than immature.
