I recently purchased a sc430 with an aftermarket head unit and it wasn't working well. I spent lots of time getting it working. From my understanding, if you want to use the factory amplifier and retain the navigation features and have some usage of the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit, you need to use something like the beat sonic mva-12l. The sc430 factory amp only takes in 2 channels and splits it to the 8 speakers + sub. Otherwise you can just put in your own amplifier to connect to all speakers. When I received my car, the head unit was only connected directly to 4 speakers via the internal amp in the head unit and wasn't even using the factory amp. This was not good because it was only powering the front woofers and rear speakers and sounded horrible. It already had the mva-12l, but was not correctly wired.
@@andrewyoo4479 Thank you so much for the comment! I’ve been looking around everywhere trying to get help on this and did come across a forum about someone mentioning something similar. I had thought that getting power to one of the speakers would probably mean it wasn’t the amp but I think I’m probably mistaken. I might try an aftermarket amp. Thanks again for the help, any more input is greatly appreciated 😁🤙🏼
@@timsimmons-wd1bm yes, I got it working with the factory amp playing through all 8 speakers + sub, but I had to rewire the beat sonic mva-12l. When I bought the car, the head unit was directly wired to only 4 speakers, but after re-wiring and buying a missing wire from beat sonic, I was able to get the speakers to work as intended through the factory amp. Also when connecting a new head unit to the factory amp the volume might be low or missing. Pressing the "mode" button on the steering wheel, "resets" something in the amp to handle the change in signal to get volume.
@@Atlanticbeachcustoms It can very well be a bad amplifier, but without knowing how it's currently wired, I can't tell it's a bad wiring job or bad amp. Ps car looks beautiful very impressive work. Turning a classic luxury into a more modern sport look love it keep it up.
@@ryanisryan1961 I definitely will!! I will start getting to taking apart the trunk in the next day or so. Any aftermarket amps you would recommend?
@@ryanisryan1961 Thanks so much Ryan!!! That has definitely been my goal to turn this classic into an almost modern looking sports car. It’s crazy to believe this was a $2,000 wrecked car I got from auction🤯
The radio aseparate amplifier that may work only front or back speakers there kits to fix the issus and help on youtube.
@@PaulDray-f6g Awesome thanks so much for the input!! I’ll try looking into that to get my speakers working😄
Question: Do you know if the bottoms cushions can be switched btwn driver and passenger??
Love the transformation, those seats look awesome.
Hey there! Yes I believe they can, when I took them apart the cushions looked the exact same! Thanks for the comment, glad you like it!😄🤙🏼
They can
Fantastic
@@crazboy21 Thanks man! Anything you would do differently?🤔
Was it the amp?
I’ll be testing that amp off camera here in the next few days and will give yall a update. Everything is pointing to it being the amp that’s bad so fingers crossed!🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I hope the merch is fatboy friendly
I got you man, any size you want just let me know😁🤙🏼🤙🏼
If you can change the beige color of the front pillars, visors, and roof bar into either that black or that brick color, it would really set off that interior!
Yessss that’s on my to-do list! I definitely agree those will be the finishing touches🙌
FYI, the Mark Levinson amp has a logic circuit that does some voodoo with the ohms of each speaker.
I own a 2004 that I keep stock ( re-foaming the 8 ohm door speakers).
@@frankizonefrankizone5398 Good to know thanks so much for the comment!! I think my issue may be with the amp, still haven’t gotten around to sorting it out quite yet😄
love what you did to the seats thinking about doing the same to mine , have you had any issues with the dye rubbing off on clothes ?
Thanks!! Nope no rubbing on clothes!!😄😄
@@Atlanticbeachcustoms can you please send the link for the dye , top coat and the crack filler?!
@@Atlanticbeachcustoms can you please send a link for the dye , top coat and crack filler thank you !
cycle the MODE button on the steering wheel untill you get sound, not in any manuel and a common issue.
@@victorycrosby4896 Thanks so much I’ll give that a shot!!! Still haven’t gotten around to fixing that quite yet😄
sc430 looks good.............nice set up
@@LS-fk2cj Thank you so much! Check out our most recent video, we changed up the exterior color! Let me know what you think of it
Looks Awesome!!!!
@@kevinperez758 Thanks so much Kevin!!😄🤙🏼
why not keep the interior black
All the seats were starting to fade and crack. If I wanted to keep them black I would’ve had to re-dye them anyways. I’ve always wanted a red interior and I love trying new projects. How do you think the red turned out for my first time?
Gotta dye the pillars black
Yessss that is still on my to-do! Thanks for your input!
🤯😍
Thank YOU!😁😁😁😁
how much would an interior upgrade like this cost you think?
Hmmm probably a couple thousand. Definitely took a lot of time😄
where did you buy seat cover from ? Thanks
eBay!
I wanna change my radio and add subs but seeing u do the radio it seems like it’s a hassle
I knowww it’s definitely a pain😫
2-tone was the right decision
Hey thanks for the comment! I definitely agree😄
nice car
Thanks so much!! Appreciate you being here!
Those micro cracks are coming back. I'd have opted for a reappulster.
@@carycoller3140 so far so good!🤞
Wow ! I may have to have red seats in my SC430 ! Looking awesome !
Thanks so much!!! You should definitely give it a shot, it feels like a brand new car‼️😄😄
How did you do that? You did what I thought was not possible! 🪄 magic
Voila 🪄😂😂
