I love her beautifully, haunting cover to this song. I haven't been this memorized, in quite awhile and so grateful I stumbled across Emily and her beautiful voice.

I was a singer in a rockband when I was in college, and people told me I sung just fine and that they liked my voice. Now, I don't pretend to be the best singer in the world and maybe every person I met lied and actually thought I was a bad singer? But that would be much worse, I'd rather have them say "Dude you suck at singing, you shouldn't be a frontman" But no one did so I think I was a mediocre singer ( Not good enough to make it a career ) But even if people told me I sucked at singing, I'd be like "Oh man, I should probably stop then"
I don't know about you, but do you realize how many people out there who can actually sing fairly well? I'd actually say that around 60-70 % of all grown up people AROUND THE WORLD can sing decently. It's not something only a minority can do.

It's the way she barely voices some of the words (especially as the words trail off) but she doesn't need to because the reverb does the rest - almost like a whisper and a chorus at the same time. Very unique and clever production.

Its a shame she's off the competition a step before the finals, but I'm so proud as a fan that she stuck to her style til the end despite Louis and Nicole's comments trying to turn her into either some pop jumpy teen or another high-note-hitting powerhouse. Especially Louis. Everyone has their own thing so stop trying to get her to dance! If so, he should get Honey G to start belting notes first yeeesh.
