I had a talk recently with a Christian of a particular Denomination. I was doing some work and I suspect there is work they don't approve of even if you have to get the job done. I have had all sorts of complaints about my religion and people wanting me to change but I'd hate to change from one church I don't understand to another church I don't understand and still have people go nuts. I confronted him with the question ... you think I'm Satan, Don't you? You're upset and pestering me because you believe me to be Satan? Personally, I'd say that God or god or whatever has got me where I am today so if you like it you can thank God and if you hate it you can blame me (because that's the way the world works).

You have to look at the culture at the time. All cultures sacrificed something to a higher power in forms of life. If God was speaking to the people of those times he has to speak in their culture. If God was speaking to someone today he may say let go of porn or video games. God also didn't have him kill his son.
