    Thankyou for the information on the state of Texas . So little is written about what it took to survive during those times.

    As a published historian myself-published only in quarterly archaeological journals-thank you for sharing your work with all of us. You have a new subscriber. (You pretty much had me after your comment about the “History” channel. What a farce.) I recently got into a “disagreement” in the comments section of another channel where a person argued that the Native Americans were all basically living in “peaceful coexistence” until European contact. When I pointed out some archaeological evidence of “mass casualty events” from the 13th century, he never replied back. I didn’t excuse the European treatment of the Natives by ANY stretch of the imagination but it is another example of people either not wanting to hear THE truth-as opposed to “their truth”-whatever the hell that means, or people not being taught history from different perspectives, another sad reality of the times we live in. Thank you for the work you do and share with strangers. Semper Fi. (Keep your powder dry)

    I did my basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, it's a beautiful city and hard to imagine what occurred there before and after the Mexican-American War (which my great-great grandfather participated in).

    The Bigfoot Wallace story was excellent, though you commented that it was "long" at 14 minutes. In this one, the intro and description were as long as the story. If I may suggest, a little less commentary and a littlemore story. Keep up the great work.

    Mr. Worthy - as you well know, there are as many accounts of the Council House Fight as there are historical revisionists, but I have a question. In this video, the source material you are reading from claims that a squaw was released to inform the other Comanche that if they would give up the remainder of their captives, the 26 Indian women and children would be released. I read another account in which, upon hearing of the Council House Fight, the Commanche tortured and murdered ALL of their white captives. Do you know which accounts, if any, are historically accurate?

    Thanks for the original version of what occurred back then. Attemps have been made many times to rewrite history including the Goliad Massacre. Fact is Native Americans were fierce. They drove the Vikings out 400 years before Columbus. After Columbus it took another 400 years which saw new tactics used such as exterminating their food source and not vaccinating them against smallpox. They even went so far as to distribute blankets to them that were contaminated with smallpox. So over 800 years of fighting with Europeans. Not bad. They were indeed a fierce people.

      The smallpox epidemic of 1837 preceded Louis Pasteur’s discovery of germ theory by 25 years.

    • @Quincy_Morris
      @Quincy_Morris 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No one knew how disease was spread back then. Settlers thought they were helping the natives by trading blankets and other items.
      Germ theory is a very recent discovery and thus people postulate that trade helped spread disease thus this spread cannot be blamed on any involved.

    If you agree to a prisoner exchange you best bring the prisoners, otherwise you will become the prisoners.
