I started playing when Plains of Eidolon dropped. So I never saw the Raid. I only heard of it. I played Destiny Raids and really liked them. I just have no idea how one would work with all the OP frames. Destiny Raids worked well becuase the abilities, gear and traversal options players had access to was very specific and limited, so they could be designed around. Destiny has the best raids of any game but good LORD you do not want to play destiny. Trust me. I'm a beta player and top 1% raider, and the ONLY thing I enjoy about this fucking game is the raids.
I do miss Raids and remember them well. Even though it won't matter, important parts are: 1) You wanted an EV Trinity and StompAoE Rhino in ever raid (vauban was an alternative pick). Rhino / Vauban would stun everything on map and EV trin keeps every energy full. This is because requires like 300 energy to charge the bomb (on nightmare standing on switch pads also drains 10 energy per second). 2) On Nightmare difficulty, the escort payload instantly dies if it get electrified on the rail. Also raids existed before people had the Operator Ability which meant you HAD to have people open the door with you (you could do it later solo now with operator). On second mission, the giant switch room has requirement to hack a terminal which then reveals an image and then you need to stand on the large yellow pad with the correct image and repeat this process until every single person is on a pad. At any moment a person steps off a pad that is pressed, it instantly downs all players on pads and you have to start process over. And of course on nightmare, you lose 10 energy per second on said pads. Third mission is just fancy door stuff while doing the bomb stuff (similar to mission 1, except the door pads are very far away and you need to find them. You can always follow the wire). Nightmare mods also introduced these nully drones that would prevent player usage of warframe abilities while inside them. I don't think they however acted like nullifiers because I 'think' you could still affect enemies with warframe abilities while inside a nully zone. I use to do teaching raids with newbies where had myself and another experienced player with 6 newbies. It was pretty fun. But ideally, if you wanted to speedrun it you would run 4 people instead of 8. I imagine they got rid of it due to outdated things but also because of requiring 4+ players (can't do solo play) and issues when host left AND how people would generally be toxic with other players. The raid itself is quite punishing against players that don't know what they are doing as everything requires some form of coordination (even opening a door). Also I heard the the Devs really really didn't like people glitching/cheesing the second raid Jordas Verdict (which I also taught had also had some annoying coordination in archwing form).
I remembered when I was a noob and getting carried to knowing what to do in this mission. I was learning and growing up as a warframe player. But these memories were fading away the longer the time have passed…
This is how I feel. This was one of my first warframe "accomplishments" and I remember one vivid scene of me standing on a plate in the shipyard haha. I miss those days. And like you said, it's slowly fades. I wear the Sekhara I got from it to this day.
I understand the extreme power fantasy that is Warframe makes it hard to make raids work, but honestly if they even captured like the essence of raids from Destiny it would be absolutely insane. I’m at end game Warframe and kinda feel like I have nothing else to do anymore. Finish my SP and reg circuit run, archon hunt, EDA, all syndicates are maxed, have every frame… just wishing we had a cool thing to farm. Something to keep us on our toes that isn’t “here, how many crap modifiers can we push on you, before just actually taking your weapons and frame next?” Idk, wishful thinking I guess, but Warframe has been such a wonderful experience and I’m kinda underwhelmed by the end of it.
With damage attenuation and all of warframes obscure features they have plenty to work with if they get creative. Like we had tau damage resistance but it's worthless 90% of the time. Maybe only around scarlet spear was it ok. Even narmer missions it's just there to be thematic with umbral mods and barely does anything noticeable. They also have so many gamemodes that they could use for raid mechanics that would seamlessly fit and probably make sense. And I get that feeling, I left WF for a few years because of it. And then kept making more open worlds which was same shit different day. And funny because a lot of new warframe difficulty IS "we take your weapons away", like how you mentioned EDA and SP circuit. Honeslty take a break. I LOVE warframe again now that I came back to so much content and I have stuff to do again. All of the wonder and fun I had when I picked it up just returned because I had a few years away, and I got to focus on other hobbies. Best thing I ever did. The only downside is missing the operations, but you gotta give to get.

Damn I always though I missed out on some really hard and fun pinnacle content since I never got to try raids but now that I've seen the gameplay it just looks like a bunch of missions mashed up into one with a little bit of running. Glad I didn't miss out on a whole lot. That said I really hope they make raids for Warframe one day. Ones with lots of mechanics that require genuine coordination and create interesting gameplay not found elsewhere. Like Destiny.
Honestly, warframe raids had some potential. I feel like they should have done more with LOR, like the battery mechanic was a good idea, just the whole standing on plates mechanic is a bit dated, with the hijack mission crammed in made it really lacking. Like JV was too complcated, LOR was too easy.
Honestly they should look to destiny for inspiration if they ever add them back (they won't). The ONE thing destiny does right is raids, they make everything about that trainwreck worth it
