These guys at Southern powder coat killed it on Eagle. One step closer to WCF and a 5 second pass.
Taking bets on the weight of the powder?
You were saying how everyone looks all over every weld to be sure its100% My question is have you ever sent any of your builds to NDI -non destructive inspection / x-ray ? I dont know if nhra or other sanctioning bodies require that for their approval of the car. Thanks
@@genedeyo135 no we never have.
@@negativeindustrial 6.34lb.
I really like the video format you guys are pumping out a ton of work in each video
the classic side foot, pedal box, cage welding technique, many a foot cramp i've had doing that inside cars..
It’s cool how I went from being unaware of y’all to looking forward to seeing these videos once or twice a week.
Hope to see you guys continue to put out build content after this project.
6:01 No, you're supposed to lift with your back, in a twisting jerking motion! 😂
😂😂😂

While wearing a mullet…🤣

Never realized all of the work that goes into building a from the ground up race car! You and you team are awesome! Everyone is serious about what they do but also seem to be enjoying their job. Love your channel!
First time on youtube I have seen someone use a piece of rigging rated for overhead lifting. Thank you!
Not a ratchet strap to be seen, well, until they are actually doing what they are supposed to do.
You guys killed it! I dont think alot of people know how much goes into these cars. Ive raced and built chassis for years. People think a chassis is just a bunch of bars and powder and rock an roll. It would blow peoples minds to see what it takes but im glad you guys showcase it all! Keep rockin!
Powdercoat will add ~6 pounds I think -- Kevin Smith did this test recently!
I guessed 20 or less tbh.
Yep, he did a much smaller chassis too.
Depends on the color...
Black is the heaviest and White is the lightest.
Chrome actually lightens the chassis....
Clear varies on who applies it.
Acid green adds speed to the whole car.
Red improves reactions times.
I'm joking if you've gotten this far and still haven't figured it out. 😁
Kevin is awesome. And yes. I’m going 7 pounds
Absolutely stunning brother you guys crushed it!!!!!!!!
It’s amazing to watch Master Craftsmen at work building a machine like this and all that goes into it 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Between channels like this and Street Outlaws have brought millions of new people to the Drag Racing world.
Let’s go!!! Can’t wait to see some progress on Seagull while Eagle is getting all dolled up.
Each and every little fit and finish that y'all do is great. So much pride in your work shows in the videos that you share! I would be honored to have you guys build a car for me anytime!
Awesome job on the Eagle by a highly professional crew. CJRacing, second to none, take care all.
This was a fun build to watch so far. Always satisfying to get to the point you tear it all back down.
Yessss! Hell yeah guys, you got this done in record time. Talk about quality at its finest!!
A lot is riding on the success of this -- so can easily appreciate the need for extra care.
Y'all are burning the midnight oil and we appreciate it!
Did anyone notice they missed a weld and it was still marked with tape you can see it when talking to powder coating guys
I doubt that was an oversight on their part, it was right in their face. Probably just something inconsequential.
It’s tape on an area that they have marked not to powder
That tape was holding the dolly on. 😂
You have built the most amazing car I’ve ever seen!!
Thank you guys for the continued motivation, I'm currently in my 3rd week of Welding/fabricating/Machining school. Still going so strong.
Let’s go 💪🏻
Assume 70% transfer efficiency, you said they're doing three coats. It's possible to figure out the math on what the powder will weigh, there is a formula, need the sq footage of all the tubes added up and then factor in what the specific gravity of that particular powder is and the mil thickness after you divide all that then multiply that number by 192.3 ... but that's waaayyy too much math for this guy to do. I know I use about 2/3rds of a 5lb tub to do a set of wheels 😂. I'm betting it's a lot more than you guys think.
Rock on...! Thanks for sharing...! Keep up y'alls awesomeness...!!!
You sir, are blessed with a team of fine craftsmen! Be proud.
For you newbies too the sport don't get all upset if it takes a while for Eagle to hit the 5 second zone, a brand new build could take months to figure out.
or even longer- Cleet has a good crew- but they are not Bailey or Lutz
I’m hoping they bring in some good chassis guys to get it figured out quick cause they want to make WCF which is coming up fast. I’m sure there’s videos are also about a week behind.
I’m gonna be so pissed of eagle doesn’t go 4.5 in the quarter first rip!!!
@@irav4u Proline has people who could get him started in the right direction if he wants and I believe Pete can tune FuelTech.
It does take some time to get the tune right to go fast without killing the engine in the process, especially when it's Cleetus McFarland Racing. I'm betting Ol' Cleeter ain't going to be so quick to snatch up the laptop and start shade tree tuning on Eagle. He'll most likely get help from Pete Harrell and/or Dr. TuneEmAll.
lets go! make this channel blow!
Let’s go 💪🏻
What a job you folks have done. 🙌🏼
Ratchet strap tip for everyone, get at least two full wraps before the strap starts tightening to avoid loosening/losing it. Looks amazing 🇺🇸
Killer job on that chassis! Can't wait to see it really come together.
I bet you all want a vacation soon
Can’t wait to see the color. Part of me hopes for something wild that pops, another part of me hopes for clear coat which looks wicked with craftsmanship like you guys have.
Beautiful work guys ! !! Hope it all comes together well..
Cool. I watched the video where you said you guys had two days left to do some final touches before sending it to powder coat Thursday. Been busy at work, I thought last Thursday it went out, I guess it went out yesterday. Look forward to seeing the colors Garrett chose to go with.
It always amazes me how much paint and powder coat actually weighs. I’ve never personally weighed it but I’ve sent stuff out to paint and powder and the guys there explained it well. If you use a 55pound tub of powder coat on something, well you’re adding at least 55lbs of powder that you can add to the weight. I don’t think on a tube chassis that it will use nearly that much but the idea makes sense. However when the body gets painted if they use a 5 gallons of paint and primer and clear well you add that much in weight to whatever you’re painting.
Can't wait for final assembly!
I remember when u put Justin's car in the grass that was funny as hell. Looks good boys. Be safe boys 🙏
It's all coming together nicely!
Can't wait to see the next video!😊
Feathers are coming in nicely Eagle, soon you'll be flying.
Hell yeah brother
Hell yeah brother. Y'all do phenomenal work, thanks for sharing the process with us. 🇺🇸
The Eagle has landed. You should be all proud. absolute work of art nice.
Thank you 💪🏻
I am really enjoying this channel. I hope we keep getting videos like this after the Cleetus work.
The dedication!!!!!!!! I love it
Well, Damn it! I guessed 2 weeks ago the bare chassis was going to weigh 335 lbs. It obviously has a bit more structure in it than I realized on camera.
I think the weight of the powder coat will surprise you. There are different types, some are applied thinner than others, but I'm guessing the three part system is going to weigh 18-20 lbs.
You should be proud of your team - they are awesome!!!!
I kinda dont want this build to end. I can learn so much about fab and welding from the team
its insane how fast you guys have got this car done and so well done as well
real soon we see this going FAST.
Yall are some bad motherf***ers. You built what is going to be one of the most famous cars in the USA. As a fellow business owner, I applaud you CJ. You are killing it buddy!
Nuts that you had to make the seat the lowest part of the car! Dam giraffe!
Love watching these videos!!! Lunch is always a blast 🔥😬
If this is for our Boy Cleetus, you should start building a second frame right now. 😄 Hope you took alot of pictures and measurements.
Word.
It's not the frames that he messes up, it's the engine's
The chassis looked like a naked apache when it was being lifted off the trailer at the powder coat shop 🔥
It’s insane how light that chassis is 😱
You guys need to make a rotisserie for flipping those chassis. Make it easy on your self and when out of ideas steel one from someone else. Hahaha great job as always much love for the welders!
Let's go you guys are doing over the top job on this build
Powder goes a long way, but there's also a ton of actual surface area on all that tubing. I'm going with 3.75lbs.🤷♂️🇺🇸
Lot of surface area for sure
I'd just clear that beautiful piece of art and let it ride!!!!
I really enjoy watching your guys video kudos to you and your staff and what you're doing their building race cars
You definitely have one of the best teams of Fabricators I've ever seen
I think the only other builds I've been this excited for was Mullet and Stanceworks K Ferrari. LETS GOOOOOO!
Personally speaking of course,,,I would just clear it ,,,that's a work of art. Nice job guys....
Damn you guys are kicking ass. Good job
Exciting Day for this build an the team
They don't call Cletus the giraffe for nothing. You guys are killing it!!
🔥CJR for the win 🏁
Let’s go 💪🏻
Id love to learn how to do what you and your guys do. I love it
Can’t wait to see Eagle soar down the track
Awesome videos keep it up
💪💪 killer content I'm excited to see the powder coat stuff....but y'all I need a seagull update
powdercoat 7.5 lbs. my guesstimation. Although you said 9.5 last week. Enjoy your weekend.
u guys need a gantry crane running in the shop ......... love your guys work ethic ...... much respect for you guys
Cameron you see Prenup making all that money and the kid who bought Monza Chevele made his first pass in it and the Car went straight down Yall build a great Chassis that's safe and works.
The cage is like that science experiment you did in school using a egg and straws. Then they let you throw it off the roof to see if the egg survives. Except the egg in this case is the driver.
Let’s see a titanium sportster frame for that thing in the background! @14:25 😀
😅
@@CJRaceCars 😂 would be sweet though
Its interesting that the seat actually dips below the cage
So stoked to see eagle make his first pass
Absolute work of art 💯
6:00 hopefully this is the only time we ever see it on its lid!
if garret see's the raw chassis with out a body, we might have a another leroy, the work the guys did is really pretty, but you know that thing getting a Christmas tree strapped to it soon
Yall are killing it, can't wait to see it at world cup!!!!
Hell yeah letssss goooo!
@CJRaceCars Cameron, I know Eagle is a a 25.2 and you've explained why it is versus the nitrous camaro's 25.1 chassis. Do you know why Brett Lasalle's 3.0 is 25.1? Is it just because of the tiny coyote not making the torque the big hemi will??
Cannot wait for next video!!
I remember when SG car you pulled a fast one on him that was hilarious
I know this build is getting to the end but I’m gonna keep watching your channel. If you can give us some background of the owners of future builds, that would be awesome. You know, make us want to cheer for these guys. It’s why we like this Cleet build. If you can just give us a taste of that, it’ll make future build videos that much more enjoyable. I don’t mean to critique, it was just a thought that rolled through my head. Still love the content!
I think powder coat would be around 6 pounds. It's about as thick as a good paintjob, but more like a ceramic glaze.
(didn't read any comments, just an educated guess)
Absolute art.
dang....even boss man stacking dimes......nice
Man I hope eagle match's the new helicopter!!!! That paint job is sick!!
Awesome to watch this build. Powder coat 10lb.
Kickass job
Love your videos and how you explain everything not to mention the occasional humor 😅
the goodest work !
Coming right along can’t wait to see it in the burn out box
Have you guys ever tried the TIG button. I love mine
6lb 2oz . I am pulling a figure out of my behind but powder coatings are fairly thin so I may be correct but I doubt it.
What set this build apart from the others, that made it so much more difficult and complex? Its been awesome watching the progress.
6-7# for the powder. That's a lot of surface area.
Oooo weee thats clean!
Absofuckinglutely killing it on the videos, Cam !! Love the content !
