He is my favorite villain in Dragon Ball. I really do wish he had a little bit more time, but his time was ABSOLUTELY perfect. He was the most OH SHIT villain, along with Freeza. I love Cell a lot because he is a perfect mix of everything, but Freeza and Piccolo had that "Jesus fucking Christ" moments.
To be fair Frieza did indirectly kill Porunga due to Porunga's link to Guru, as with Nappa killing Piccolo which indirectly killed Kami and Shenron due to connections

That arc was so dark and tense. Btw., it may not seem like much, but he basically has the power of an atom bomb. He was basically a "fighting demon" (spiritually he actually was, not just a Namekian). The concept of destroying planets was not even imagined yet (first with Vegeta, who seems to style himself at least a surface destroyer).
You know, if you do a proper power scaling, Raditz is the first planet buster in the series. Piccolo obliterated the moon during his training for the Saiyans and at this point, Piccolo was still weaker than Raditz. This means Raditz is the first planet buster in the series.

The Piccolo who blew up the moon was on par if not stronger then Raditz (if he got stronger after his fight with Raditz). He has a power level of 1,500 (with the special beam canon). The first planet buster was Vegeta who flat out said he would destroy the earth. The power level needed to destroy a planet is 10,000. If you’re talking about Raditz’s Oozaru (even tho we have never seen it) I would agree since his PL would be 15,000.

Gohan turning into an Oozaru for the first time was early on in their training, probably in the first or second week, considering he was still a coward and a crybaby at that time. Piccolo couldn't have gotten that much stronger in that short amount of time. If he did get to 1500 in the first week, then his growth rate would've put him at around 400K by the time Nappa and Vegeta arrived, which simply didn't happen. Also, Piccolo didn't use the Makankosappo to destroy the moon so that immense power boost from the sheer ki control didn't factor into him destroying the moon. Meaning the Piccolo who was far weaker than Raditz is a planet buster. Thus, Raditz is a planet buster.

King Vegeta even backs this as he has a power level of 10,000 and he blows up 3 planets. Planet Destruction isn’t linear as well (if you’re planetary you can blow up multiple planets, just not a singular one) The energy needed to obliterate the moon is not where near the energy needed to destroy the planet, I don’t where you got that it was = from. Roshi was the first moon buster (shown) and Vegeta was the first planet buster in the series (stated). So nice your Argument that Raditz is a planet buster comes from a false assumption. That's what made original different from other dragon ball series When both krillin and Master Roshi died during this arc for anyone who watched this for the first time it was a shock moreover Goku been defeated and nearly killed, then shenron death with this scene it was meaning that no more wishes and no way anyone who died will be brought back to life again
The stakes had never been higher at that point of the story, the arc starts with a huge dramatic overturn with Krilin death, and at the end Goku and Tien evolve as protectors of earth which was already setted up in the 2nd Tournement
Piccolo Daimao gets credit for being a villain of actual significance within the story. Not only does he get his wish, he beats the hero of the story just prior to this and is responsible for the deaths of 2 of the hero's closest friends. Also, since the story by that point still revolved around getting the Dragonballs to ask for the fulfilment of your wish, when Piccolo kills Shenron it actually entails the end of the quest for the Dragonballs as well (at least initially). He then conquers the world and on the show it actually lasts for a number of episodes. The story could have ended right at the moment where Goku defeats this guy and it would have been a great ending to the entire story.

Honestly, I’m not too sure how I stumbled over myself so bad 7 years ago. I was trying to say that Kami shares the same voice as Piccolo Daimao, before fusing with the reincarnated Piccolo. As in, Murasaki, Piccolo Daimao, and God are voiced by Aono Takeshi. Hopefully that clears it up.

***** Never really watched DB to much tough due to lack of time and not being able to really get into it :p trying to follow DB Super right now, but honestly I'm not sure how long I will be able to keep on going, a nice start with saiyan god (I refuse to call it super saiyan god as that's basically the second form, while first form is just a plain saiyan, thus saiyan god) but now they are ruining it with the weird plot twist that dragon balls are actually made form super dragon balls that are basically planet sized. Meaning there are most likely even stronger "gods" who made each universe and thus made the super dragon balls (meaning above Kami (god) there are other stronger gods (like King yema) who have there own gods (kai's) who have there own gods (supreme kai(s)) who have there own gods (gods of destruction) who most likely have there own gods who created those universes in there entirety.
***** Meh that's the thing, positive adventure with good humor is kinda the description of most movies and other media I have seen over the past years, and I've grown really tired of it, right now I'm in this phase where I rather watch series or play games where the story gets worse and worse, and at the end you don't really feel like you won, but you just survived. Utsumi Kenji and Aono Takeshi were absolutely top tier in this scene. Especially Aono; Sabat just did not personify the Great Demon King Piccolo like he did.

Till namek saga villains were best, cell saga ruins it for me, then buu again makes it perfect. I mena saiyan got nerfed in cell saga so much, even this piccolo was able ti change whole territory with 1 blow, and in cell saga SUOER SAIYAN was not changing territory with one blwi and they make vegeta hand to broke in front of ground? I mean wtf no way earth has that much nirmal force to even scratch vegeta arm. Then in buu it was all mixed up, i mean tf vegeta blow up didnt cause whole earth to shake(well that thing could be controlled but still understand the point)
At this time, Goku was almost killed, and Roshi and Chiaotzu were dead. And they were defeated by old King Piccolo, not young. Furthermore, Shenron was killed. There was literally no hope at the moment. Kids watching this show could get PTSD.

リアルで見た人たちにとって、この時には恐怖でしか無かったピッコロ大魔王のテーマ曲が、フリーザ戦では頼もしい存在になるとは思いもしなかったんだろうな

若返った大魔王の顔はマジュニアよりは老けていますね。青野さんの演技は大魔王初登場時より若返りを意識している様に思います。
大魔王は「我が子に悪の根を絶やさない様に願った。」様ですが、マジュニアは一度も善人を殺していません。なんなら、仇の子供の師匠であり、孫の子守であり、GTに至っては悟空が最期に会いに行ったのがマジュニアです。確か鳥山明先生が一番好きなのがピッコロだったと思います。

Meh that's the thing, positive adventure with good humor is kinda the description of most movies and other media I have seen over the past years, and I've grown really tired of it,
right now I'm in this phase where I rather watch series or play games where the story gets worse and worse, and at the end you don't really feel like you won, but you just survived. Happy story's are overrated.

このピッコロ大魔王が若返った願いのマイナスエネルギーで誕生したのがGTの邪悪龍編で登場する四星龍で、ピッコロ大魔王が悪キャラだった反動が影響したのか四星龍は目の前の敵を倒す以外の殺戮をしないどころかクリーンファイトを好む良い奴で最終的には悟空と共闘する程のベビーフェイスというのがまた魅力的でしたね。

+TheDude I guess since he;s the half of Kami he knew how weak shenron is as a physical being. Otherwise I;d be glitching the hell out of Shenron. A) make wish B) kamehameha shenron C) go to kami and have him make some new ones, instead of waiting 1 year for those 2 or 3 times they needed to wait to fix a complicated problem. Same for polunga...but he looked pretty buff, he must lift.

I didn't think before this that anyone could kill that dragon. Knowing how much the power scaling changes following King Piccolo, it makes this scene a bit jarring.

Till namek saga villains were best, cell saga ruins it for me, then buu again makes it perfect. I mena saiyan got nerfed in cell saga so much, even this piccolo was able ti change whole territory with 1 blow, and in cell saga SUOER SAIYAN was not changing territory with one blwi and they make vegeta hand to broke in front of ground? I mean wtf no way earth has that much nirmal force to even scratch vegeta arm. Then in buu it was all mixed up, i mean tf vegeta blow up didnt cause whole earth to shake(well that thing could be controlled but still understand the point)
At this time, Goku was almost killed, and Roshi and Chiaotzu were dead. And they were defeated by old King Piccolo, not young. Furthermore, Shenron was killed. There was literally no hope at the moment.
