It's good that you are interested in improving your channel by getting feedback, but if the channel is growing at a rate of 100% a month, you are obviously providing the content most people want to see! I always look forward to seeing new videos on your channel!
I'm a relatively low hour private pilot. I try to make and enjoy watching videos about cool new places/experiences and what you learned getting there. Videos about how you do your flight planning, how/when you talk to ATC, etc. are all great. Presenting all of that cool information in the context of fun adventures you had seems to be the most entertaining.
I think all your content is great stuff and I dont believe you should limit yourself to a single one of those options. I think we all love the variety youve been bringing. I voted editorials cause I love to learn but I'll keep watching no matter what you put out there, and im sure alot of people would agree. Thanks for the vids and way to butter that bread ;)
Don't worry about the haters, you just keep making what you want to and if you get views great, but if you don't then don't worry. Keep reading the comments and as long as there is a solid majority that appreciate your work, you're doing the good things.
I can only second the comments several others have already made: I'm here for what you're already doing. The mix of educational or critical themes (like the carb heat video) with the documentaries of your great adventures (like the abandoned island) really do it for me. Just a thumbs up from me and thanks a lot for all your videos! I really love watching your channel and feel no need for you to change anything about it.
In today's video Mr. Friendly is all alone, just him, the air, and some unsettled beef. This will be a hard battle with the patterns, good thing he's got a warrior on his side.
Exactly. Your enjoyment is contagious and motivating. I've also learned A LOT from your channel--I'd be at a disadvantage if you changed the mix. OH! One thing I'd appreciate seeing is if you could show us the components of the aircraft and how they work. That would help get a better understanding of how the plane works and what you're ACTUALLY doing when you pull levers, spin trim wheels, etc.
I really enjoy some of the variety your channel has, I enjoy the top 10's, the flying adventures and the humor around the field. I don't think you have to change the recipe. a good mix of relevant content you enjoy making. you dont have to put yourself in a box!
Well, it's really sad, because all the great supporters can do nothing when one fringe lunatic calls Washington DC on me. To the best of my knowledge, they won't find anything to be upset about, but I still don't want to get the call. That's just no fun.
Gahh damn those flaps clean up quick on the Piper. Anyway I like seeing you fly by yourself and giving us one on one time. You have a very calming personality that makes any solo content very enjoyable.
As a CFI I appreciate the editorials that serve as good lessons to pass on to students but also just flying and having fun is part of it too. All of the above is Good!
as a student pilot with only about 10 hours in, I LOVE this channel and will happily watch whatever you produce -- it is all extremely helpful when one is new and air time is costly, the more reinforcement of the fundamentals the better for me!
Because of your channel I've finally decided to go ahead and get my PPL, since I've wanted it all my life (I'm 27 now), and I realized I can now afford to get my PPL and just worry about the other costs of flying/getting additional licenses later. It doesn't hurt that I've got one of Florida's major airports (Melbourne) across the street from my apartment literally within walking distance. So just keep doing what you are doing, personally my favorite videos are where you yourself are learning something and I can learn with you as you ask questions and figure things out, or when you are practicing and explaining such as in this video. Obviously as you get more experienced you can only take that material so far, but I like learning the basic concepts regarding navigation etc. and the little things like the point you made about clearing the cross runway.
These are always my favorite comments :) Thanks for sharing. I came very close to living in Melbourne. I was just up there last week, actually. What a lovely area with excellent real estate value.
Thanks. If I can just figure out a way to raise the money to get my CPL, that's the dream. But after watching this channel primarily plus a couple others and seeing I have the money in the bank, I'm telling myself there is no excuse not to get my PPL now. I'm just hoping that getting it will be the first step on that path and open up some options for me.
Nick, I've been out of the air for a few months due to financial reasons, but your videos have been helping to keep me motivated. This video perfectly encapsulates what I call evening zen. Sometimes there's nothing better than flying by yourself late on a summer afternoon, when the sun is fading and the winds are becoming calm. My mind is entirely focussed on flying and nothing else.
I like that you don't just have one type of video that you upload. Having fun videos of you flying with your friends are enjoyable to watch and I also appreciate the informative videos. There is a good balance which keeps it interesting.
I have been watching your videos for about a year and honestly, I love the fact that you cover more diverse topics. This is the only channel I watch that covers the engineering side and I find that stuff fascinating. But like other people said, pretty much all of your content is fantastic. I especially liked the one that you had your friend blind fold and attempt to land without ever having flown.
Honestly, your videos got me through the first half of ground school and your advice with waiting to solo until I felt comfortable was great. I definitely feel good now with most stuff aside from talking to major airport traffic. Keep posting vids
As a current student pilot and a senior in engineering studies at university, your videos are always a pleasant surprise when they show up in my sub box. The videos have inspired me in some way but most importantly to really give it my all in my flight training. Hopefully next week I'll be soloing. Keep up the great work!
I love watching your content becouse you actually talk about some of the things most youtuber pilots would avoid. For me Friendly Skies is about not being perfect but being human and talking about the mistakes anyone could make and making aviation more accesible that way. So in my opinion you don't need to change that much, continue talking about the controvercial topics and bring your friends along! The humor thing also sounds nice.
I was in FS9 doing patterns at KORH while watching this. Really makes you think and be engaged while I was listening. I like when you pass along good info like the garmin timer trick. I always use the every 15 minutes on the clock routine 15,30,45,00 switch tanks.
I really like the variety. I got editorials but seeing regular flights is good as well, to see the editorials in action. Videos are great. I came to the channel because of all the information you had with editorials, it was really useful information that not a lot of other TH-camrs seemed to have.
It was nice to see you got to enjoy a clear and calm pattern in addition to flying alone. Sometimes it is nice to go up by yourself to enjoy the connection with the plane and surroundings. Once again, great video, keep it up. Your videos are fantastic! I fly the pacific northwest and it is nice to see flying on the East Coast where most of the airspace is controlled.
I like both the flights with friends and the tackling issues in aviation (like why or why not carb heat and low energy vs low altitude). The behind the scenes videos are good too. A mix is what keeps me coming back.
I am about 3 years late, but I still enjoy your content. I would rather not see flight simulator, but what ever... I really appreciate your commentary.
I love the adventures, but I also love learning new information as well. The thing that would be the best is to do videos that you love doing and making.
Hello Nick, my name is also Nick. I'm an ATC in South Africa! I really enjoy your channel, and my vote is that you keep doing what you're doing. The video's are always interesting and fun to watch, whether it be an educational, editorial or just a fun flight! Keep up the good channel!
The mix works for me too. Seems to live up to the name of the channel, just good overall experience flying from a regular guy, sharing his experience and adding some fun here and there. Good editing and multiple camera angles. I would keep someone else in the cockpit with you, just so you can avoid the issue of "what about all the distractions", the second set of eyes to help with situational awareness. But I say this because I am a low time pilot, with experience maybe the cameras and talking isn't all that distracting. That is one thing I learned about the student pilot training, your slowly keep adding more and more things to manage. It was amazing how adding one little extra procedure could totally blow your world up when learning a new skill. My big one was learning to talk of the radio and fly at the same time. Thanks for everything, please keep them coming. I know they are certainly hugely beneficial to student pilots.
Well said Akil. I agree with you. I do like the instructional points which student pilots can learn from. Nick has a good presentation style, which makes things a student may find hard to grasp far easier to understand. I find that Britain has a shortage of videos which are informal but really informative at the same time. Over here our only option is expensive commercially produced PPL syllabus dvd's
I would like to see A & B I love the information that you put in your videos, and the actual flying that you do too. and I have a new idea, it's actually the reason I found your channel, 360 videos. More of them. That's how I found you're channel. Thanks for all you do.
Friendly Skies Film I know you're probably making a new video, but I would love to see more 360° videos. That how u found you channel. But watching your 360° flight video. That would be boss.
I selected fun flying adventures, but I genuinely love all of your content, adventures are just my favorite, I would love to see more stuff like your Bahamas trip, as well as some tips and lessons, seeing as i'm a new student pilot with only a whopping 7 hours, You are one of the few people with good videos that flies a Piper, which helps me a lot, I fly an Archer II and it's so hard to find good videos of lessons in Pipers!. but honestly just make whatever you like! what's most important is that you like the content you produce!
I would vote you be true to what entertains you. I like a mix and I like the fun bits like the one way runway, but I'm learning too so the education bits like the carb heat one are helpful. But keep doing what keeps you going. If your hearts in it, it will be good... ~Chris
I watch your, and videos like yours because I'd like to take some flying lessons, so talking about learning, mistakes, stuff like that, it's what i look for. There are enough guys that just fly and talk about themselves.
Keep doing what you're doing. You have to enjoy the process as well as the end result. A good balance of all of the above works great. A little controversy balanced out by humor and fun flying never hurt anyone.
No keep talking about the Controversial stuff because then it's preparing a student like me who's about to go to flight school and keeps us better informed. Keep doing what your doing. Because now no matter what I'm constantly learning something new and important
That's what I always wanted to do, but I've come to learn that people will hate you for it, which I guess I really shouldn't be too surprised about :-/
well if it means anything, and always you know best to keep your channel alive and such but here are my 2 cents. im a student now going in to aviation as a career at middle Georgia state university, i need this as your channel and others are helping me figure this all out. so yeah some people may not like it but for those like me, its actually going to be my life. before i even get to school, and even have a license, ill know what to ask and in some cases know answers before i even get there. so i say keep doing what your doing, there hasn't been one video that you have done that goes over controversial things or tips i haven't re watched. So forget the other guy and just do what you love but what do i know
Thanks for sharing, friend. It's stories like that which keep me going when the going gets tough. Good luck, and always feel free to email if there's ever anything I can do for you :)
Today I had my first perfect landing! I am 8 hours into my private and I still cant get over the feeling that I felt when the tires gently kissed the ground, first upwind, downwind, and I never even felt the nose touch. Thanks for feeding my interest in aviation and opening my eyes to this experience!
I gotta say of all the aviation channels, I enjoy this and Stevo the best....this I particularly love as not only is the quality great, but I'm about to buy a Warrior II :)
Hey Nick, I will be honest I like all of the content on your channel I feel like a mix of flying with friends and myths is great.....This was also really cool just sitting back talking about some stuff while doing touch-'n-goes. a few really cool things were the full checklist and run through for your aircraft were cool too.
This may not be particularly helpful, but I agree with many previous commenters. I like all your videos I've seen: the editorials on controversial or interesting stuff, just plane fun stuff (pun intended), adventure videos, etc. Wish I was closer, I'd help you with video editing since you sound like that's your least favorite job. I love that stuff. Starting on my private pilot this weekend. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! :) The editing is not too bad, actually. I've been doing that my whole life. It's the setup and teardown of the cameras that's a real bitch, not gunna lie :P Good luck!! Let us know how it goes :)
Loved the video today, calling what you are doing in the cockpit and camera angles that show what corrections you are making as you accomplish something.
I'd like to do even more of that to be honest with you. Maybe I'll do patterns again and walk you guys though it, but only like one or two, not seven :P
I would say what I hear you always say to people, Just Keep Being You Bud. What ever you put out is always enjoyable and I personally learn a lot. I start training this Sunday to finish PPL, I just know in the back of my mind I'll be relating to what I have heard you say so many time in the videos ,as far as flying goes. Thank You SOOO very much for all you do Nick, Friendly Skies Film.
Another great video! I think you have a good balance of fun flights and learning lessons. I particularly liked the international flights to the islands, something I haven't been able to do yet.
I.M.O. keep the content mixture rich!. Do not limit yourself to a narrow set of skills (since you have so many to show). I am an aviation aficionado (without any money or even airfield close by to practice) and love how well-explained and visual your videos are. Cheers from Brazil !!
Nick, Loved the simplicity of this video. Loved the time of day. With a passion for flying, this video captures the joy of it all. Sometimes it's best not to have a program or an end goal for teaching. But, it would be interesting to see exactly how such videos are produced. I would hate to think that you do this work just for it's commercial success. One of the reasons I enjoy your work and some others here is because your passion for flying comes through in the videos. Your interactions with passengers display the love you have for it all. That's the joy behind my viewing. I have currently soloed and have always had a passion for flying too. As far as ideas, go, just show aspects of general aviation....what equipment is required, what plans have to be made, what pre-flighting is necessary, how warriors differ from 172's with fuel pumps. What brings you joy about flying? Share that? What do you enjoy about simulation? What equipment do you use there? What's it like to hanger your plane? How do you fill your plane with gas? Where do you enjoy flying locally? Are their any local interest stories of pilots near your airport? What airport do you use? My local KHUM has many stories. My CFI, Charlie Hammonds, is widely known. His son was a Top Gun instructor during the filming of Top Gun. He taught stunt pilots how to fly...for James Bond films. I could go on, but keep up the good work.
I like a variety. I feel like you're really good at giving aviation advice in your videos (as a student, I'm looking for experience and pointers anywhere I feel is credible) and the information you relay in your videos has been very helpful in my journey in aviation. I also enjoy watching pilots on a fun outing and adventure. I'd like to see you continue as is. Squawk VFR and have fun.
Enjoyed this video, like all the others. I'm currently working on my license, so techniques, situations and issues that come up are interesting. So are trips with friends, and interesting places, these provide inspiration. Anything about aircraft ownership would be good too. Keep up the great work.
hnnnnnnnnnnnng LOVE it when these perfect landings happen. If you're ever on the West Coast let's go flying, I'll take you on a fantastic Bay tour. Also, I think a good mix of everything is a perfectly valid solution. Some channels (not necessarily flying channels) will do on a Monday, on a Wednesday, and on a Friday or something similar. No reason to pigeonhole yourself if all of your videos are still of the same topic. :-)
i agree with the previous replies. All of your videos are great. You have an excellent mix of content, so i would say continue on just as you have been doing. But one thing i can tell you, is i am very excited to see killian's flying lessons! I am taking my flight training right now in a warrior, and i am greatly interested in seeing some videos with her and tyler. Other than that keep up the great work!
I enjoy the content to date. Since you are asking and thinking of changing it is my preference to watch you flying your plane whether it is on your own or with friends. You demonstrate real flying scenarios and we get to see it ads it is happening. Flight sim has its benefits but watching real time flying is my preference.
I love the channel as is. I do like the just flying around and chatting as it makes me feel like i'm up there also so more of that would be awesome but, really, why change what works? Do what makes you happy since I assume that's what you have been doing and it works so why mess with it? Also, If your ever anywhere near Michigan i'd love to go up!
Keep doing what you're doing. I fly vicariously thru you right now. Grew up flying with family and RC but don't have my own license yet. I've got my 107 and fly drones under my own company on the side. Currently studying for my Professional Engineers license and Private Pilot is next. Videos like yours keeps the motivation up. Thanks for the great content.
@@FriendlySkiesFilm Update: Passed the professional engineer exam a few months after my comment. Started Private lessons back at the end of May and just soloed last weekend with 13 hours. On my way to get that certificate. Miss the videos and look forward to more content.
@@FriendlySkiesFilm another update. Passed my Private checkride today! Feels great to get that completed. I hope you can get something new out because I do miss it. Hope things are well with you and I look forward to what's next being a pilot now.
I like how you do a couple of different types of videos. But what brought me to your channel was the editorial content. As a fellow engineer learning to fly, I like when you dive deeper into a topics. I thought your abandoned island video was pretty cool also.
The best videos I have watched on any channel are the longer ones. 30 Minutes plus. Full flight stuff. I think you have a gift of teaching what you are doing and sharing your love of aviation. You explain things extremely well. I would love to see more videos like this where you are flying by yourself. Only with less editing. Just my opinion.
I think that if you try to tailor the channel to what people like you risk losing a huge part of what makes it interesting. Doing a mix (what you feel like) is why you have a fan base.
Friendly Skies Film , No, but I realize that coming up with topics must be tough after a while. Maybe devote certain days each month to things like mailbag or instruction-related topics that people are asking about. Stuff like that. Look up Tucker Gott. He's doing a great job of it, mainly on the topic of paramotors. Either way, happy flying!
Yeah, I've spent some time around his channel. Good stuff, and amuses me, since he lives in a slightly more vigilantly branch of the federal aviation system.
Flying a great plane? Hanging with friends? Chat'n it up with nearly 40k subs... Making a lil cash while you do it? What's that old saying about if you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life? hehehe...
Another great video man, I say keep up the variety and people will keep Coming, just look how much your channel has grown! Great to see a channel like this on the rise
Wonderful video of pure flying.Very nice touch and go practice ,by the way! I think more solo flight videos would be a great addition to the content you produce. Also,if start to pursue additional ratings, share the journey with us! I would also suggest to continue covering not just the pleasant aspects of aviation but the typical snags also.Happy flying. :-)
That satire idea is pretty good. I really loved that video where you ranted about Flight Simulator and that new simulator that you tried out, I found it hilarious!
I would love to see more of your full scale remote controlled aircraft. Not sure if I missing some of those but I saw teaser on it a while back. But more to the point please keep up with the editorials.
I also enjoy the variety. The editorials are nice, but following the ice cream cones puts us on the adventure with you. On your way to Florida stop by 2A1 and I'll take you for a fried honey bun!!
I don't see the voting buttons on my iPad. The ones I've liked the most from you were the ones about energy management coming into a runway low, carb heat, the one with the guy landing the plane that's never done it before, etc. I feel like they were something I couldn't get at other big channels and you did them well. Always up for the occasional regular flight like this one though. I like to hear the radio work. Better than liveatc because you get to follow the context of the one plane vs the one frequency.
Hi :D I like your channel and the upcoming videos! Did you ever consider watching the variometer during the flare? If you watched the variometer, you'd know how smooth your flare is (about 150-100 f/m is smooth) and if you had to pull back on the yoke Greetings from Germany! Keep up your good work!
What sets your channel apart from others is the aviation myth busting and your scientific approach to de-bunking them. I find this content the most interesting as a fellow pilot who strives to learn and build my aviation knowledge and understanding.
You have a large variety your videos are not the same that is what interest me in your videos. You also show after you land things you do when you're there no one does that no more. The variety doing everything you mentioned is perfect
I must have missed the pole but here are my comments. Everyone is doing training but you do something a little lighter. I think you have found your niche. Keep flying with your friends and having fun and letting us watch you introduce general aviation to others in your videos. Occasionally blindfold one of them then make them take over as they remove the blindfold. That was amazing video. I laughed my butt off. It's not really necessary but thank for the Patreon recognition. I am happy to be there for you. I spent 5 days at OSH17 but unfortunately I missed you. Maybe next year. Oh I think you finished school but what ever happened with the autonomous plane? Keep up good work. Ken
Hi Nick, I'm about ready to take my PPL check ride, and I like what you have been doing all along, I like the variety and hearing about what you learned while out having fun. I would also like to hear what you think about how the Pipers handling compares to the Cessna's and other single engine aircraft if those opportunites come along. Keep up the good work, Dr B
During taxi, shouldn't you have held short of 33 to get clearance to enter the runway first? Or did you cut that out? Great pattern work and video in general.
I love a variety. so all the options to me sound like fun. I liked your pattern work, it was nice to watch you work the plane. Have you performed low and slow above the runway where you hold your wheels inches above the runway through the length of the runway?
What I would love to see is a collaboration between you and Ty Shuff (Catstrator from Twitch) who also happens to be from the Boston area. You have such polar opposite personalities that I imagine it would be outrageously funny to watch y'all. Anywho - the content you are producing is obviously working, so just keep with the winning formula! Being one of the more popular Aviation-themed TH-camrs out there is nothing to scoff at.
Last landing: MONEY!!. I always struggle with the timing of the flare in the skyhawk- awesome to see how you mastered that height above the runway in your roundout
As one of the lowly $5 contributors and someone who's only had their nose in flight manuals for a month or two and never off the ground in command, I'd love to see videos where you get technical... show me stuff I'll need to know once I'm out of ground school and in the air, things that might help me avoid common mistakes, pointers that will impress the instructors... ;) I will never say no to some concept or point a pilot with experience thinks is interesting. Wanna show us a film on jet marshalling? Perfect! That said, I already love the channel and all you've contributed. But since you asked, my more watched videos are the editorials. - Jesse
One of the reasons I stop by is for PSAs and other information that we tend not to learn in training. I really enjoyed your recent carb heat video because it taught me so much I had never known. On the topic, I noticed you mentioned the 'upwind', though what you actually meant was the departure leg. According to the Airplane Flying Handbook, the upwind leg is parallel to the runway, and the departure leg is straight off the runway. I hear a lot of pilots and even some controllers mix those up.
Yep, totally right. I know I learned that one incorrectly, but it's actually become so prolific that you'll see some publications acknowledge both. I forget which ones, but I think the Pilot/Controller Handbook is one of them. Doesn't make it any better, I'm aware :P
Quick question, I notice you have carb heat on during landing, I used the fly a Warrior and Archer and was always told that was a big no-no in Pipers, any particular reason you turn on carb heat?
It's good that you are interested in improving your channel by getting feedback, but if the channel is growing at a rate of 100% a month, you are obviously providing the content most people want to see! I always look forward to seeing new videos on your channel!
Debatable, but thanks so much! :)
Friendly Skies Film when is the next time you will fly over the Whitman-Brockton, MA area?
Hmm... I'm in Mansfield with some frequency, and under the Bravo, but not usually that close in.
I have to agree with Richard. If it ain't broke.... Some good suggestions in the other comments, but I'm here for what you are doing already.
Aw, too kind, friend. So glad you enjoy :)
Don't worry about the haters, you just keep making what you want to and if you get views great, but if you don't then don't worry. Keep reading the comments and as long as there is a solid majority that appreciate your work, you're doing the good things.

In today's video Mr. Friendly is all alone, just him, the air, and some unsettled beef. This will be a hard battle with the patterns, good thing he's got a warrior on his side.
You're amazing ;)
E. All of the above
In all seriousness, a balance of all of the options would work fine, for me anyways
But that's what I've been doing! XD
Friendly Skies Film just keep doing what you do 👌🏻
Completely agree. The videos are great. And whatever content you choose to make, make sure you have fun in the process!
exactly why your channel is growing 100% per month. Why change what works?
Exactly. Your enjoyment is contagious and motivating. I've also learned A LOT from your channel--I'd be at a disadvantage if you changed the mix.

I really enjoy some of the variety your channel has, I enjoy the top 10's, the flying adventures and the humor around the field.
I don't think you have to change the recipe. a good mix of relevant content you enjoy making. you dont have to put yourself in a box!
I truly love all of your content -- Talky, informative, solos, or with friends -- Just keep doing what you love, and I'll keep loving what you do!
Too kind. Love that sentiment :)
I have no problem how you run your channel.. Dont let the lunatic fringe dictate to you... I too believe all the above, I would watch any...
Agh, music to my ears. Thanks, bud :)

Ahhh, that zen. When you could just keep on flying forever.
I like that you don't just have one type of video that you upload. Having fun videos of you flying with your friends are enjoyable to watch and I also appreciate the informative videos. There is a good balance which keeps it interesting.
Fascinating. Thanks for shedding some light :)

Hey, I'm still not comfortable with that :P
No need to change a thing. The channel has a good mix. That's what keeps me watching.
Glad you enjoy :)
As a current student pilot and a senior in engineering studies at university, your videos are always a pleasant surprise when they show up in my sub box. The videos have inspired me in some way but most importantly to really give it my all in my flight training. Hopefully next week I'll be soloing. Keep up the great work!
Excellent!! Let us know how it goes! Ahh, senior year in Engineering, I knew thee well 3 months ago :)
Your channel is growing at a rate of 100 percent because everyone likes it. Keep doing what you are doing ;)
Sounds good to me :)
I am not a pilot yet! So I enjoy the detail you give on all aspects of flying, takeoff, landings, navigation. Keep on doing what your doing. Thanks.
Well, good to know someone appreciates that stuff :P Why do you think I left my radio fumble in this video? ;)
I was in FS9 doing patterns at KORH while watching this. Really makes you think and be engaged while I was listening. I like when you pass along good info like the garmin timer trick. I always use the every 15 minutes on the clock routine 15,30,45,00 switch tanks.
You describe exactly how I used to practice my flying :)
I really like the variety. I got editorials but seeing regular flights is good as well, to see the editorials in action. Videos are great. I came to the channel because of all the information you had with editorials, it was really useful information that not a lot of other TH-camrs seemed to have.
I suppose no matter what I do, I try my best ;P
It was nice to see you got to enjoy a clear and calm pattern in addition to flying alone. Sometimes it is nice to go up by yourself to enjoy the connection with the plane and surroundings. Once again, great video, keep it up. Your videos are fantastic! I fly the pacific northwest and it is nice to see flying on the East Coast where most of the airspace is controlled.
Glad you enjoy, mate :)
...just love the news here, ... it simply benefits aviation community worldwide ...keep'em coming, guys, (channel fans from the day one). :)
Yay! :D
Haha I'll do my best, then :)
Hello Nick, my name is also Nick. I'm an ATC in South Africa! I really enjoy your channel, and my vote is that you keep doing what you're doing. The video's are always interesting and fun to watch, whether it be an educational, editorial or just a fun flight! Keep up the good channel!
Thanks, mate! You live in a fascinating part of the world that I can't wait to visit some day :)
Really appreciate your videos. They encourage folks like me to learn to fly and provide good advice verbally and visually. Thanks
Yay :) Thanks for letting me know.
Well said Akil. I agree with you. I do like the instructional points which student pilots can learn from. Nick has a good presentation style, which makes things a student may find hard to grasp far easier to understand. I find that Britain has a shortage of videos which are informal but really informative at the same time. Over here our only option is expensive commercially produced
PPL syllabus dvd's
I would like to see
A &
B
I love the information that you put in your videos, and the actual flying that you do too. and I have a new idea, it's actually the reason I found your channel, 360 videos. More of them. That's how I found you're channel. Thanks for all you do.
I really should do another one of those...
Friendly Skies Film I know you're probably making a new video, but I would love to see more 360° videos. That how u found you channel. But watching your 360° flight video. That would be boss.
I would not change a thing FSF. I love all of your content. TH-cam is for you. You are the creator.
What a great sentiment. The few that voice their negative opinions-- well sometimes I can't blame them, but I wish they all thought like you! ;)
So glad I could play that part for you. Thanks for the feedback :)
Can do! :)
That's what I always wanted to do, but I've come to learn that people will hate you for it, which I guess I really shouldn't be too surprised about :-/
I could have those words engraved on something, haha. Wise words, sir :)
well if it means anything, and always you know best to keep your channel alive and such but here are my 2 cents. im a student now going in to aviation as a career at middle Georgia state university, i need this as your channel and others are helping me figure this all out. so yeah some people may not like it but for those like me, its actually going to be my life. before i even get to school, and even have a license, ill know what to ask and in some cases know answers before i even get there. so i say keep doing what your doing, there hasn't been one video that you have done that goes over controversial things or tips i haven't re watched.
Isn't it amazing :)
Lol your username
I just enjoy all of your videos. I'm a hopeful, one day LSA pilot. I look forward to getting notifications that you've posted something new.
That just makes me smile :)
I like everything you put on your channel pertaining to flying. Editorials and flying for fun. Keep them coming.
:)
I gotta say of all the aviation channels, I enjoy this and Stevo the best....this I particularly love as not only is the quality great, but I'm about to buy a Warrior II :)
Ahhh!! Welcome to the club!! Send me a picture when you welcome her home.
Will do mate...I'm not far out of your old stomping ground of Melbourne :) I'd take you up if you ever get back here!
Thanks! :D I'd like to someday.
I enjoy all your content. There's no way to please everyone just keep on keeping on.
Hey Nick, I will be honest I like all of the content on your channel I feel like a mix of flying with friends and myths is great.....This was also really cool just sitting back talking about some stuff while doing touch-'n-goes.
a few really cool things were the full checklist and run through for your aircraft were cool too.
Thanks for the feedback, mate! You've been around for a while too, haven't you? Like maybe since 10,000 subscribers or less?
For a while yes, I never really keep track of how long I have been around....but I still get super exited when I see a new video pop up.
:)
Too, too sweet old friend. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! :)
Friendly Skies Film Yep I am getting old at 52.LOL, Thanks for the reminder, but will keep you posted.
Haha! You know what I mean ;)
Yep, LOL :)
Another great video! I think you have a good balance of fun flights and learning lessons. I particularly liked the international flights to the islands, something I haven't been able to do yet.
You and me both on that one ;)
I.M.O. keep the content mixture rich!. Do not limit yourself to a narrow set of skills (since you have so many to show). I am an aviation aficionado (without any money or even airfield close by to practice) and love how well-explained and visual your videos are. Cheers from Brazil !!
Those are the hard ones to make, though ;P
Nick,
Loved the simplicity of this video.
Great suggestions, and great story there at the end!! I loved the simplicity too. Well put.
Thanks, mate :) 1200 to you, as well!
Enjoyed this video, like all the others. I'm currently working on my license, so techniques, situations and issues that come up are interesting. So are trips with friends, and interesting places, these provide inspiration. Anything about aircraft ownership would be good too.
Keep up the great work.
Yep, aircraft ownership has come up a lot, so you can expect that :)
Most important for this channel is that you have fun making these videos. Other than that great videos, keep it up!
Fun? Me!? Nahhh ;P
Friendly Skies Film thanks for taking the time to answer the comments!
hnnnnnnnnnnnng LOVE it when these perfect landings happen.
Huh. I kind like the scheduling idea! I'll let you know when I finally get over to your neck of the woods. It will happen :)
i agree with the previous replies.
And we can't wait to share them with you :)
I love your channel. I just started to learn . Going for my 4th fly lesson and your videos had helped me to keep calm.
Thanks, friend! Good luck! Let us know how it goes :)
It's always great to watch your videos and pick up tips that come from experience. Keep right on trucking!
Thanks, mate :)
I enjoy the content to date. Since you are asking and thinking of changing it is my preference to watch you flying your plane whether it is on your own or with friends. You demonstrate real flying scenarios and we get to see it ads it is happening. Flight sim has its benefits but watching real time flying is my preference.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Welllll, I'll let you know when I'm happy ;P Thanks for the feedback, and I'll let you know ;)
Keep doing what you're doing.
Wow, sounds like you're sucking down the certifications! Shows great dedication. Good luck! :)
I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I'll take a break after the PE but flying is always a goal.
@@FriendlySkiesFilm Update: Passed the professional engineer exam a few months after my comment. Started Private lessons back at the end of May and just soloed last weekend with 13 hours. On my way to get that certificate. Miss the videos and look forward to more content.
Congratulations!! Thanks for giving me the update. I miss hearing from you guys when I'm busy too :)
More fellow engineers! Thanks, mate :)
Please keep doing what your doing. I love this channel. You're doing a truly great job and I appreciate your efforts.
Too kind :)
I think that if you try to tailor the channel to what people like you risk losing a huge part of what makes it interesting. Doing a mix (what you feel like) is why you have a fan base.
Oh boy. Kinda screwed myself there, didn't I? XD
I would say don't limit your self to one type of flying or video do what you have been doing. It's a great channel glad I found it!!!!
Advice taken, friend!
How would you have haters or trolls? Whats not to love? Its so awesome to see someone as enthusiastic about aviation as I am!
Can I pick all of the above? I'm interested in seeing what every makes you the happiest and the content you want to make. Keep up the good work.
In that case, I think I'll become a gamer! XD
I think the options should include; Just keep doing what you do already. I love the balance in your channel as it is.
Oh no!!! I have my work cut out for me then, don't I?? XD
Flying a great plane? Hanging with friends? Chat'n it up with nearly 40k subs... Making a lil cash while you do it?
What's that old saying about if you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life? hehehe...
Idk, but I must be living it! XD
Another great video man, I say keep up the variety and people will keep Coming, just look how much your channel has grown! Great to see a channel like this on the rise
It makes me happy... sometimes... other times stressed out of my mind.
You got it, friend! :)
That satire idea is pretty good. I really loved that video where you ranted about Flight Simulator and that new simulator that you tried out, I found it hilarious!
Haha that one was hit or miss, but we have some funny ideas XD
Well I always enjoy your content regardless, so I'm happy with whatever you put out :)
Too kind ;)
I would love to see more of your full scale remote controlled aircraft. Not sure if I missing some of those but I saw teaser on it a while back. But more to the point please keep up with the editorials.
A lot of people have mentioned that. Really good to know there is interest, because I thought people wouldn't enjoy it.
I like the mix of you and your friends flying and of course the editorials
Glad you enjoy :)
I also enjoy the variety. The editorials are nice, but following the ice cream cones puts us on the adventure with you. On your way to Florida stop by 2A1 and I'll take you for a fried honey bun!!
Haha I'll see where it falls and keep it in mind :)
Thanks for the feedback. Definitely better than LiveATC for comprehension.
Hi :D
I like your channel and the upcoming videos!
Did you ever consider watching the variometer during the flare? If you watched the variometer, you'd know how smooth your flare is (about 150-100 f/m is smooth) and if you had to pull back on the yoke
Greetings from Germany!
Keep up your good work!
If your ever up in Washington state, take a visit to KPWT. I'd love to meet you!
I'll let you know! :)
That first landing... Was MAJESTIC!
:)
What sets your channel apart from others is the aviation myth busting and your scientific approach to de-bunking them. I find this content the most interesting as a fellow pilot who strives to learn and build my aviation knowledge and understanding.
Thanks for the feedback, mate! :)
I’ll support whatever you do later in your channel; really love your content - keep it up! 😉
Thanks so much, mate. Really makes a difference to hear :)
You have a large variety your videos are not the same that is what interest me in your videos. You also show after you land things you do when you're there no one does that no more. The variety doing everything you mentioned is perfect
I supppppose so ;)
I must have missed the pole but here are my comments.
We'll see what we can do! Thanks, mate, and good luck!! :)
I have. Little tricky at ORH, because there's no taxiway 8,000ft down on the other end, but I should do that for the channel! :D
As a soon to be student pilot, I like the editorials as they provide helpful information and provide a fun way to do some "post-study studying"
That's how I used to use TH-cam :)
Really!? XD I'll have to look him up.
Last landing: MONEY!!. I always struggle with the timing of the flare in the skyhawk- awesome to see how you mastered that height above the runway in your roundout
Thanks, mate :)
More IFR please. I would like to see you teach more. How do you talk to other pilots, have a conversation, over the radio?
As one of the lowly $5 contributors and someone who's only had their nose in flight manuals for a month or two and never off the ground in command, I'd love to see videos where you get technical... show me stuff I'll need to know once I'm out of ground school and in the air, things that might help me avoid common mistakes, pointers that will impress the instructors... ;) I will never say no to some concept or point a pilot with experience thinks is interesting. Wanna show us a film on jet marshalling? Perfect!
That said, I already love the channel and all you've contributed. But since you asked, my more watched videos are the editorials. - Jesse
I like all the content thus far! Makes me feel like I'm riding along. Keep up the great work!
Then I guess I'm doing my job! :)
Greased landings there! Well done! I like your channel for what it is for. You always bring facts to the table.
I do my best :)
Personally I enjoy all the types of videos you make, just keep making them!
Haha that's not helpful! XD Will do :)
Your channel needs more subscribers... I love watching this channel!
Yay :)
Quick question, I notice you have carb heat on during landing, I used the fly a Warrior and Archer and was always told that was a big no-no in Pipers, any particular reason you turn on carb heat?
Look closely. I never actually turn it on. I just say it, to make sure it's off, and because I fly Cessnas occasionally too.
I like the idea of a combination of the options you discussed, rather than choosing one.
I had a professor in college by the name William Michaelson! Haha
I vote you do exactly as you've been doing. I like the combination of things.
That seems to be the consensus! :)
