I have met him twice backstage and he could not have been NICER. Both times, very cordial, funny, spent a ton of time with the few fans who paid the mere $300 for a ticket to meet their idol. In one case there was 2 others, in another venue there were 6 of us (but 4 were my friends). Malmsteen was actually pretty darn funny and signed EVERYTHING put in front of him, fairly legibly considering. The last time I met him was in 2018 in Philly and again, true to form, great show, pre show, etc. He did not complain about being a star, he did not have anything that made you feel like he was any different from the guy playing guitar at guitar center. Amazing. I have met many stars over the years working in production and other avenues and never, ever, did I meet someone so talented, with so little "asks" from his fans. Often you are limited in time, item, etc., - with Malmsteen none of that. He easily spent 25-30 minutes with us, then even forgot he had to go on shortly. He was that "at ease" about playing in front of 2-4,000 people. Sadly he no longer commands the crowds, but I do not care. I will pay to see him anytime I can, wherever he is and consider him a treasure for many reasons. Of course you have Hendrix and Page, Steve Morse, Al Di Meoli, and hundreds of others. The internet is not large enough to mention everyone. But Clapton and all the bluesmen get mixed in together as I see it and even with SRV's genius (cut way short of course), blues is not a huge sell anymore. When was the last "big bluesman" beside maybe Joe Bonamassa to move the needle? Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Joey Satch, John Petrucci, are different animals imo. An awesome live rendition of this classic...I saw him a number of years ago at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, House of Blues in the G3 line-up of Satch, Vai, Malmsteen-tremendous show, so much fun. I've also had the opportunity to see Eric Johnson up close a few times, and also awesome....Eric is kind of like Yngwie as a more bluesy player....both tremendous, clean, disciplined perfectionists.

Air on a G String the Best Performance by the Maestro Yngwie J. Malmsteen
I love Yngwie. He is my idol. Just fucking cool and unique.
Pins me from him. In a good way. An insanely talented person.
I get the highest pleasure.
Обожаю Ингви. Он мой кумир. Просто охуенный и неповторимый.
Меня штырит от него. В хорошем смысле слова. Безумно талантливый человек.
Я получаю наивысшее наслаждение.
I will always find my way back to this piece
I don’t think what this man did to those guitars on stage was legal.
WolfeThorne lol
you think this is bad? watch steve vai's tender surrender
Class stuff . He loved it so much. it gave him so much back.
His hands should be censored for fucking several instruments in front of a live audience
he fingers them like nobody ever fingered before.
Awesome!👍 Sweden rocks! Greetings from Finland! 80s Malmsteen...I just love it!
After seeing this I stick to my opinion that Blackmore is the greatest of all time. You can see his influence in this masterpiece

It blows off my mind! Greetings from Istanbul.
Really??!! Some folks thumbed down? No one with even a SHRED of musical ability or comprehension would even think of it.
There is only ONE YNGWIE. He put the balls & brilliant technique, feel, passion into the classical music l LOVE. This piece is ABSOLUTELY AWSUMLY AMAZING. He created a dynasty. But NO ONE can match THIS MASTER OF NEO CLASSICAL ‘METAL’. If you think he’s a poser ( 🙄!), he has every right to be. YNGWIE, l ADORE YOU. BRILLIANT. There’s always ‘knockers’ PFFFT! ALL I can say is ‘COP THAT’!! 🎸👊🏾😆🥰
Yeah he played 100 note per second, but he have the feeling in his playing. This guy is so talented
What can I say, dude makes me smile. Apparently some don't like him. It's all good I hope they listen to someone they enjoy.
