Kurt P no definitely not that. Pedals sound different under certain circumstances. I have a pedalboard and it always sounds different with different guitars and amps. I have a ds-1 distortion for example, i had a marshall amp and with the ds-1 it sounded like Misfits. I own a hot rod deluxe it sounds like solo tones from Sublime. I also own an orange and with the ds-1 it sounds like Green Day. It just depends on the other gear and the hands it’s in

As I say in the Jubilee settings video, it doesn't depend only on that but in other stuff like: pedalboard chain, guitar, pickups, cabs, cones, room, poor or good guitar cable between guitar and the first buffered pedal in the chain... All this stuff combined can shift your sound a lot. Plus there is handpicking dynamics
so i'm assuming those 3 MoogerFooger's will cost an arm and a leg... great... what's the black version of the DL4/FM4??? it's under the purple filter mod?

@@matguerra333 Ds-2 needs some natural compression after it. Set the amp little bit more overdrivish (but still sounding clean) or use a overdrive pedal after it very clean

It isn't even hard to see the knobs from the video by yourself. The question was clearly not about knobs. You can't just set it at max and have the same tone, since it depends upon all the chain and the effects after it (even if OFF, a lot of them are not true bypass and influence the sound in every situation)

How are you using it? Settings? With just the CE-1 you can't reach MAX on DS2, but you should manage at least 3 o' clock ... then a valve amp would help you as well
That was just a personal DIY pedal, Triungulo Lab as a company couldn't release any pedal called or aesthetically looking like the Big Muff. Said so, yes, an early 2000 NYC "replica" is just waiting to be released.
I used a True tone power supply back in the day (the big one, CS 12 ? ). Nowadays I'm working to make a new pedalboard build.. that won't be easy because I don't even have time to build myself a bunch of pedals which i need, but eventually I am planning to change the power supply because I'll have more current hungry pedals laying down

No, I don't use the Rythm Clip. I have a video about my amp settings, you can go there and watch it. Anyway, it is all thanks to the MIJ Ds-2 and the Ce-1 preamp I think
I don't agree with that. John didn't use the Big Muff as much as people think.. most of the time it was just DS2. Anyway, I guess that a Metal Muff sounds good as well if you dial it in correctly!

Max out the volume and distortion and run it into an amp that's already clipping
I heard and saw from forums that the ds-2 was made for tube amplifiers...
But you can use it for any amp

Not really, paid about 200€ for each of them back in the day. That's the Boss CE1, isn't a Moog

Yes I made the JF Fuzz. Before Stadium Arcadium he heavily used the Big Muff... after he almost completely switched to the Germanium Fuzzrite!

Will Galluccio I was able to get my ds-1 to sound really good. Tubed amps make all the difference. Solid state with that pedal is terrible.
Yes, tube amps make a hige difference. But sadly the ds2 is harder to tame instead of the ds1. In my chain CE-1 helps a lot to make it sound like that

It is a vintage WH10 inside a Deep Throat enclosure. Basically a WH10. Yes, this is the key of the Wha sound of RHCP so I really suggest it to you

Turbo Distortion and Fuzz Can sound very similar at certain points
It sounds like fuzz because the level, tone, and dist are maxed out in the DS-2 and the CE-1 preamp compresses it to right level

Compression! John was getting his compression through the Jubilee and Major cranked together! You can try it with an overdrive pedal!
