Soucy looks slow in a lot of situations to be honest. Not saying I want to give zadorov 6 Mil per but I don’t think soucy can be a 2nd pair guy.
The truth, is, they let guys audition this year, and the guys that did well, should be signed if they can make it work. Our D wasn't the problem, our PP was. Big Z intimidates everyone. His intangible value is worth at least $5 million. If we give him term, say five years, and a signing bonus where year one is paid mostly up front, he would likely stay. You can't underestimate his wife and her views on the location they're going to live. Don't forget you were already paying Big Z, so it's just the difference that eats more of the Cap. Joshua wants to stay as well, so I'm hoping they can work something out there. The guys who's "auditions" went well, should be resigned because if they let them all walk, it's going to be more difficult to get people to want to be with the Canucks since they'll only see it as a place you're transitioning through, and it gets more difficult to build a Team First culture that way. They'll see it more as a place to improve their individual stats to get better contracts elsewhere.
Big Z doesn't want to pay Canadian taxes. I wish we could re-sign him but unlikely.

I believe that you negotiate all these free agents on one main question..."How much do you want to play in Vancouver for the Canucks?" there are many benefits to living in one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. This organisation as a Canadian market franchise has a history of taking care of its people. There are many considerations beyond dollars and cents that add value to being a part of this group and the reasonable assumption that the Canucks are on the edge of becoming a highly successful club...
It will cost more to replace him, free agents are not cheap
Vancouver needs more offense. I want to see the Canucks open the season with tons of depth up front like the start of last season! Need more up tempo style next playoffs, not “survival hockey”.
However can you answer, how many players are willing to take a little bit of a pay cut , with a team that has a chance of playing for a cup ????????

Loved having Z but I dont think the length and amount of what he wants is best long term. It's ironic because his great playoffs probably out priced him for us to resign. We all got tired of vancouver overpaying and signing long term deals for players in the past.
you are wearing caps gentlemen not hats....hats have a brim...the cap is saving your headphone's band from getting greasy from hair gel / sweat.... Also baseline should be based on playoff performance. Chris Tanev failed miserably against Edmonton

Letting Petterson walk would be bad asset management. Signing Zadorov would be a smart move.

I always mark videos with Patrick Johnson as disliked. This guy is clueless. He eats too much soy.
"Don't be blind with your contracts", they say... Pettersson's contract, making him THE 5TH HIGHEST PAID PLAYER IN THE WORLD (He's the 5th best player in the world? He's performed in the past as the 5th best player in the world? He's expected even to play in the future like the 5th best player in the world ... EVER? No, no, and no. So, uh....), which has TOTALLY screwed up the salary structure of the team, and made it that "there's no way The Canucks can re-sign all these FA's" (UFA or otherwise)... Yeah, THERE'S a PERFECT example of being blind in contract negotiations... what a mistake that will haunt the team for the next decade.
The more I think about it, and I'm just another idiot giving his 2 cents on TH-cam, I think if they can get Pesce, I'd rather have him than Zadorov. He's not Zadorov big, but he's 6'3 205, right shot, same age as Z. He's not physical like Zadorov, so he may not endear himself as much to the fans, but in the end, he's a low event guy who is a defensive rock and doesn't make many mistakes. He seems a bit like a more durable Tanev. I mean, if you can get both Pesce and Tanev signed to reasonable contracts, you can forget about Zadorov, because your blue line is suddenly significantly better.
I think it’s odd that these guys claim IMac works for the team. He works for sportsnet. Also, why can’t these guys get someone from the team on the show? The guy from the province is just another guy with an opinion. Get a principal on and then you don’t have to guess about whether an agent is full of shit (Guess what? He is).
