You guys ought to check out Bruce Wilson's channel,he's got a couple of these cabovers now and he would probably buy that one. He's in Dade City Florida 👍👍
@Kenneth Lail hell I'm getting too old to do all that damn work. I made by me another dump truck and do some work. If Trump gets re-elected I'll buy me a another truck. If he doesn't get reelected, we're all in deep 💩.I'm retired now but I do like watching that kid Bruce Wilson.if Trump makes it and I do buy me a truck I'll probably get me a glider kit with a new kitty cat engine. 378 peterbilt with a set-back axle, 46 rears, 20000 pound front. Deep reduction, 8 speed Spicer. Full locking axles.C-10, 400hp. She tends much lighter than a 15 L. Better off road. Is making them videos I like it.👌👍🏝️😎
Congratulations 🎊 to you. You brought back a lot of memories for me. Schneider specializd carries In Green Bay Wisconsin. Was the very first company that I worked for. In 1993. They helped me get my CDLs. I really enjoyed my time with that company. I would tell anybody if they want to Drive trucks. Work for them. And I started out Driving a Truck like that. Navstare international 10speed With a Doghouse in the middle.
It sure does a fellow good to see y'all showing love to these old cabovers, like I started in. I grew up around trucking in the 70's when they ruled the road. I started training on a late 70's Mack CruiseLiner.
Wow, my first driving job was with Schneider and my first truck was a 1983 International cabover with a spring ride suspension. Everybody loves cabovers but if you ever worked one over the road you wouldn't love it so much. Cool find though. Be well! :)
Your buddy was right, the doghouse is big enough to sleep on an I used to do that all the time back in the good old days. Cabover tractors died during my career. Companies just couldn't get drivers to drive them anymore because the law changed allowing longer wheelbase trucks and combinations and trucks with hoods took over. They road a lot better and where easier to work on. I wouldn't mind having an old cabover but not to work it. Maybe tow an RV with it. I still got my 2000 KW W900 parked out front but am medically retired from driving after 30 years over the road. Enjoy your channel. Ya'll be well! :)
IH is a Cornbinder Freightliner is Freightshaker Mack is The Dog and Kenworth is the KW ! I drove a Transtar for many years and the not bad , sleeper is small and the windshield gets frosty in the winter ( defrost don’t work well on then ) but that’s an ordered tractor because it has the Cummins and not the IH diesel they usually come with and the interior is called western saddle which is also extra money ! That’s not a company tractor for sure that’s a Lobo rig ! I’d almost bet there was 2 logos on the doors , one saying Schneider and under that was International Transport , Schneider bought out IT in 1990 ! There’s possibly an order sheet with the paperwork !
@I-GET-THE-BAG ! International Harvester made Tractors beginning long ago, and, began making Trucks in the 1940's under the name International. Drivers began calling the road Tractors "Cornbinders" since the same company made Farm Tractors, hope that helps.
When I was in the oil field hauling frack sand, I had a 99 International 9400 and the looks and sounds brought back some memories. Thank y’all for cranking it up for us
Those old Cummins are a really good-sounding engine.I got my CDL back in 2000 on an International cabover working for Schneider, I miss the old days. Thank you for your videos.
Cool truck. Looks like ones I drove in early 90s my second job. Tanker company I worked for had some early 80s 9670s like that one. Brings back good memories.
Hi Guys. Love the sound of a cummins diesel. I spent a week in New York city in a IH transtar 2 or 3 can't remember. Unloaded some freight in Harlem. If looks could kill I would have been one dead 18 year old white boy. I had never been to a place like that and have never been again : ) New York ended my wanting to be a truck driver. I had Never been cussed out just for being alive. Sad thing is here in the South I had and still have Black friends. Has always I liked, shared. All my best.
Years ago I ran those 9670s a fair bunch !! Those and the I H 4O7Os were always my favorite trucks !! I Still love the looks of them and they Still have a big spot in my heart !! Although after running conventionals as much as I have I don't know if I could go back to running a cabover . I believe the 9670's all had square headlights.
Actually 9670 Internationals all have square headlights and short gearshifts. I drove an 82 and it had square headlights. They were good trucks. I liked their wide stance, they could handle curves with top heavy loads without getting squirrelly. I drove them for 6 years from 82 model to 86 model. They were all good trucks but the ones I drove had 300 cummings in them with a 9 speed Roadranger Transmission. They were company fleet trucks so thats how they were ordered. They would order 25 at a time. A 9670 International is my second choice for a truck, next to a Peterbilt being first choice. I drove trucks for 40 years. For dependability, you cant beat them. I hardly ever had a road breakdown with the ones I drove.
I'm new to your channel and throughly enjoy watching and catching up to all your content. Also I'm learning something. Your good ole boys with a great sense of humor. Keep the videos coming. Cheers from Sydney, Nova Scotia Canada
I’ve always liked the IH cabovers. Cabovers rule!🤩 Even in 2020 those cabovers still have good uses and style! I have a 95 9670 from Walmart. Hope someone takes that baby home! 🥰
Internationals are called a corn binder from their days out in the cornfields of this great country. They started out there then they startd making pickups and big semi trucks
I just bought an 87 freightliner cabover. I'm 30 and loved these old trucks growing up. bad part of these old trucks is the body parts are getting hard to find
I had a brand new Schneider 9670 in 1983. It had the square headlights a 9 speed and a 300 Cummins. It did not have an air ride suspension, it was a spring ride with a shorter wheelbase than yours. Are you sure it was a Schneider Transport truck? We were teamsters then. They didn't give us fancy trucks.
I worked for Schneider for 7 years in the 90’s. My first tractor as a solo driver was a 1987 COE9670 with over 850,000 of it. They kept them till the wheels fell off back then. That was a rough riding sob.

Hamiltonville Farm it really does, there is just not much that sounds as good as a straight six diesel with a whistling turbo. This will make somebody a great project truck.

A company I was pleased to tried to pawn one of these off on me,no way,to short for flatbeds. The 400 big cam,I just spent 4 years with one, they r not a pwr house, but they r reliable.
Considering the milage and that it still runs good, this truck is real diamond in the rough. Sure it needs paint, but that's just about all it really needs, not much else and it would be a really nice truck to start up an owner/operator. Of course it'll run if it hasn't been drownded. Can't kill 'em unless the exhaust and/or intake has been left open. You did GOOD, Hank and crew and you and Brandell MIGHT have made it back to your place without a fight if that was a long haul. GBWYall!

Yeah definitely work for a company like that. GPS. Governors on the trucks. Top speed at what? 60-65 mph. So fun!
That knob by the shifter was used to set the fast idle for warmup. We used to use it as a redneck cruise control to give the right foot a break.

You old farts were way tougher than today’s “wheel holders”.
I drove those things OTR for Holland Motor Express in the late 70's, they were great, "Cornbinders" we called them..

Best looking cabover is a transtar in my opinion when I was a kid in africa I watched one with a interlink trailer it was amazing
What kind of transmission does it have thanks
I talk about that in the video. 😉
It's not bad shape inside really not bad International Transtar 8800 I believe or close to it 👍👍

The 9670 was introduced in 1981to replace the transtar. They all had square headlights.
Is it a Bristil ? Spline type - might need another set of wrenches.
I wonder whether you could run one of these in the UK/EU..be something different, make it a 6x2 taglift and away to go
Howboutcha!! Always enjoy your videos! Thank you!
