As a neuromuscular therapist that was a great help to my clients as it reenforced the point of not overgripping as it can create dysfunction of the elbow & shoulder complex. Good exercises chewy & nicely narrated.
Given the lockdown and some of us may not have exercise bands or safe overhead anchors, this exercise can be done with a 10lb cast iron frying pan. Hold it by the handle with your arm like Chewy has his for both exercises. Turn the pan sideways either with the pan on the ulnar (pinky) side, in which your goal is to touch the pan to your pinky/ulnar side of your forearm ; or with the pan on your radial(thumb) side, again with arm straight at your side allow the pan to twist your wrist toward your pinky, then counter the twist for the full range in the thumb direction. Same reps as with the exercise band. Yep, you'll feel it.
Hey off topic but wanted to ask. Big fan of your channel and I am a police officer. Was wondering if you could post video on takedowns for law enforcement. I have been in bjj for about a year and a half. Love the way you explain techniques and if you could post something on that I would greatly appreciate it.
Hey chewy, luv from London, UK. One of the problems I get with the gi especially with cross collar chokes is pain and bruises specifically in my finger joints. Are these helpful for that or are there other exercises that can help with that better?
Did anyone else get a Strong Hand moment at 2:15 ? Grips are definitely not something to put on the back burner. Do you also train supination and pronation, Chewy?
*Chewy is looking more like Chewie every passing minute in quarantine.*
J A I’m getting fuzzy that’s for sure 😂

I'm subscribed to your emails chewy, keep them coming they're helping a lot!
Cian thank you! Glad you enjoy them and I appreciate the feedback.
Stuck at home, and improvising, I use a pillow case with rocks in it for both forearm exercises, and also bicep, and triceps exercises. Give a try.
These work great. One of my Brazilian instructors calls these the "bring to me" exercises in his endearing accent.

Hell yeah one of the main reasons why I don’t like gi jitz and I’m no gi at heart that and the game is slowed down crazily :)
Very similar to arm wrestling exercises
Those dudes have monster strength in their arms and wrists.
@@Chewjitsu armwrestler here, armwrestle for a year and you'll never ever get that elbow pain ever again.
I went to military school... grip game strong.

Your advice is as awesome as your beard.
