I almost feel lucky that I watched this the night it went out, but at the time, little 9 year old me, definitely did not feel lucky. I'll never forget when everything starts to kick off, and you catch sight of Pipes at the window, but when the camera panned back, there was nothing there. And that moment when the door of the glory hole (snicker!) slowly opened, and that half second glimpse of Pipes..still gives me chills when I see it now, even though I know it's fake. That night, I slept on the floor between my brothers beds. I say slept, but really I just lay there, waiting for Pipes to appear at the window.
I was 13 when I first watched it and I thought it was real. I thought it was awesome, but I gradually got more and more scared. By the end it got more and more unbelievable and scary, thinking is this real??? then the credits come up written by and played by etc. I knew it was a drama. But still couldn’t sleep. When we went back to school it was all people were talking about. It was just an amazing cultural phenomenon that people still talk about today.
They do have haunted attractions at theme parks in the UK yes. Typically there are 'Ghost Trains', which are old school dark rides with horror themes. The most famous attraction would be the London Dungeon, which has been there in the centre of London for ages.
THEremiXFACTOR they have a few dungeons now not just the London Dungeon, there’s the York Dungeon etc and there’s going to be a small one at Alton Towers next year. There’s also a lot of scare mazes and scare rooms around Halloween.

Sky Widows awesome story... we didn't have anything like that in the states... do they have haunted house attractions in the UK?

I saw it too, I was 10 at the time. We didn't know if it was real or not and were completely into it. I couldn't sleep that night, haha.
