    I just watched 28 of your videos in a row.. found you via That Vegan Couple.
    You've just changed my life, and I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos! Mesmerizing. The quality of your videos, your humour, and of course the recipes themselves are jaw-droppingly amazing.
    Thank you so much!

    I would probably add like a tablespoon of olive oil, just cause I feel like they would taste a bit dry as is. But yeah I know some people may prefer the lower fat option. Might even add a bit of chili powder for a nice spicey kick. Looking forward to trying this recipe! Thanks. :)

      +tilywinn I trust that all the people that are ok with oil will gladly add some into the mixture, as you pointed out :) Thanks for your comments

    Just made these, ate one burger about 5 minutes ago, yum! I didn't have all of the spices so I had to improvise a little bit but they turned out really good, I added some tomatos and lettuce to the burger and had some of my home made pickles on the side. Really great recipe thanks a lot. I think I will soon try to make some o your spaghetti and lasagna, they look delicious!

    I really want to try these, they look fab! Not sure I will be able to find miso paste where I live, can I substitute with 1 tbsp soy sauce with satisfactory results, do you think?

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ᕿᒪᗩᘉᖶ ᗷᗩᔕᗴᗬ ᒪᓰᖴᗴ Thank you! Don't worry, you can simply remove the miso if you don't have it. If you want to substitute it, a tsp of nutritional yeast or a small quantity of marmite should do. However, I wouldn't add liquid ingredients such as soy sauce to the recipe, as the burgers will end up too soft. Thanks for watching

    It's an interesting use of red miso... I have to try your recipe of vegan burger, I'm curious to know how it tasted

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +kuboana8785 Miso in general is one of the best vegan ingredients available. It adds plenty of umami and flavour into any dish. Thanks for watching :)

    • @kuboana8785
      @kuboana8785 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +The Vegan Corner yes indeed it is. I'm just confused on one point : the miso taste normally very salty, so it is necessary to add 2.5gr of salt ? Or the salt is just in the case you don't use miso ? ( or maybe you used a low salt miso? )

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +kuboana8785 I'll tell you what the problem is. Most people eat regular amounts of salt, whilst others eat very little of it. Whenever we propose a dish, we MUST recommend a quantity of salt that will make the dish taste good to a standard person, because they are the majority. However, as you pointed out, most of the times that amount looks like a lot of salt, and that's why we always recommend to taste the mixture and add more salt if desired. If I were you, I'd add in all the miso, taste the mixture and then add more salt if needed :) I hope this clarify the situation a bit

    • @tsareno1
      @tsareno1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ang blo I would add some canned adobo chipotles if by spicy you mean added heat. They are wet so they will probably act as a good binder as well. Cajun seasoning, crushed red pepper and diced jalapenos are some other options. Lemme know if any of these worked out for you ;)

    • @thevegancorner

      ang blo Crusher red chillies or cayenne pepper are probably your bet bets, but the possibilities are endless. Thanks for watching :)

  • @supersilverhazeroker

    A question in general in your recipes when you have miso paste in the recipe.. does the sort of miso matter? is hatcho miso (ingredients: soybeans, sea salt, koji-ferment) good?
    Also is there a simple way to make saltfree glutenfree breadcrumbs, cause i checked out the glutenfree breadcrumbs in the store, but i thought it had a rediculous amount of salt, while the miso in this recipe already brings a lot of salt.

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +supersilverhazeroker Yes, hatcho miso is perfect! However, feel free to use any miso you can find as we use it to add savouriness and they all work well for this. You can make breadcrumbs by simply dehydrating bread and processing it into breadcrumbs, which shouldn't be very difficult.

I ask because I have only tried Seitan at an asian restaurant, but have never attempted to make it at home, and I just recently purchased some wheat gluten to give it a try. Is there a special name for that bun/burger ring? I don't want to make foil ones and when I search online all I get are results for English muffin ones or will that work? They are 3 3/4 inch in diameter and 1 inch deep.

    • @thevegancorner

      Sunrise of Sunshine I generally add proper subtitles to our videos, but at this time I didn't manage to do it. However, I'm pretty happy to hear that the auto-translate function is happy with my voice, as that doesn't happen frequently :) I' glad you enjoy our recipes so much and if you end up trying some of them, please let me know if you enjoyed them ;) Many thanks for watching and commenting

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, they will veery likely fall apart. You could try to coat them with a very thin layer of oil and then grill then, but you should also be careful whilst flipping the things or the will disintegrate.

    What purpose does the flour have? i mean can i just use buckwheat flower that i still have a bag of? I'm still eating gluten free so i hope gluten aren't required.
    And about (hatcho) miso, if i buy a bag and cut it open, there's no legit way of closing it, how does that work with storing and shelve life after opening?

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +supersilverhazeroker It thickens the burgers and keep them together, and yes, you can use another flour if you want. Miso should be kept in the fridge and it usually lasts for months after opening.

    how could I replace the miso paste?

  • @SylvanasWindrunnerResurrected
    @SylvanasWindrunnerResurrected 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I cant get this to work. The burgers just crumble apart and I can't manage to make a full solid burger.
    Is it because I lack the miso paste? It's the lack of miso paste isn't it?

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sylvanas Windrunner No, it can't be the miso paste. The only reasons could be that pulses you use are excessively dried, not mashed enough, or that the breadcrumb used is too much.

    • @SylvanasWindrunnerResurrected
      @SylvanasWindrunnerResurrected 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks so good! I was just wondering your opinion.. How vegan-friendly do you find Italy? That's a pretty broad question, I'm sure it'll be easier in the city compared to rural Italy but just wondered your thoughts. You are Italian, aren't you? If not, ignore me!! I'm taking 6 months out to live in Italy next year :)

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** Oh I'm very Italian, don't worry :) I find traditional old-fashion Italian cuisine mostly vegan friendly, but during the last decade things shifted toward a higher consumption of animal products. However, this doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of option for vegans in almost every single restaurant and pizzeria in the country. I usually face no struggle when it comes to finding good vegan food in Italy, what I do struggle with, is low-fat food, and that's a completely different story. People are literally living on olive oil in Italy in the Mediterranean. I hope this helps and please, feel free to ask as many question as you desire ;)

    • @sarabea4817
      @sarabea4817 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much!! I've had a lot of experience asking for pizza with no cheese and salads with no cheese, no mayo, etc. That's so good to hear! I was just wondering if pasta dishes are harder to come by because of use of egg in fresh pasta? I'm so excited for the trip, I'll hopefully split my time nannying and WWOOFING, with about 2 months left to travel. Been obsessed with Italy for years but have never been!! Thanks for your help :) The Vegan Corner

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** That sounds like an amazing experience, I'm sure you'll love it! :) In regard to the egg pasta, don't worry at all! Despite people think that the Italians thrive on egg pasta, we actually almost never use it and even if some restaurants do use it, they will all be more than happy to prepare any dish with standard pasta instead, which is yellow due to the fact that it is made out of durum wheat and not for the egg content :)

    • @thevegancorner
      @thevegancorner  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Vegan Family Thanks for being such a huge fan :) I don't really mind answering questions. I've been vegan for almost 4 years now, give or take. I used to be extremely ill and doctors couldn't really help much, so I decided to seek health elsewhere and found the answer in veganism. Then, I discovered all the bad things about the meat industry, so coming back to my previous lifestyle wasn't really possible, and down the path I tried to turn as many family members as possible into vegans. I'm very happy to say that now my mom and dad are both 100% vegan :) I hope this answers your questions
