Joe talks about Jim Massett, Jim is without a doubt one of the best deer hunter's in NY. You would never know it talking to him as he is one of the most humble guys you will ever meet. A great person and great hunter.
Great video. I had the pleasure of meeting Joe at one of his seminars just east of Syracuse. Joe is one the most informative speakers I have ever heard. He is so concise. Very easy to understand. He really keeps his seminars interesting with great analogies. I would highly recommend listening to Joe. Not to mention I think he’s a great guy🦌
For sure. It's also a breath of fresh air to hear guys like him, Masset, Blood, Labbe among others say how good everyone else is too. It is such a pleasure to listen to those guys tell stories.
he's def not the best tracker alive...he tracks in the SNOW haha...even i can do that. try tracking without snow, now thats a skill you won't get going out a few times a year
@@patrickpk6299 Do you have 1500 cows to take care of everyday? Just saying if you only had 4 or 5 days a year to hunt and worked as hard as Joe does you would more than likely use the snow to your advantage. If you think Joe can't track without snow you are mistaken. Just because there is snow on the ground doesn't mean you don't have to walk miles and miles to find the deer that made the tracks. It also doesn't make it easier to travel in the bush. You are taking away years of experience and ignoring the fact that he has dragged out any number of old bucks from the mountain without the use of cameras and other new technology. Joe is a legendary tracker, his resume speaks for itself.
@@douglasroseveare7295 thats my point, some guy is out there everyday...that guy is the best tracker, not a guy thats out 4-5 days a year...its impossible
AWESOME podcast Joe is an amazing person to mentor and want to get others out there and track bucks in the snow between Joe, The ADK trackers, Hal Blood etc. my 10 yr goal is to kill a buck tracking in the lower ADK I still and stand hunted an area many many yrs ago with nothing to show for now watching these gentlemen and learning from them I’ve already planned a few hunts once I’m back on my feet I won’t do it unless I’m ready physically THANK YOU both for sharing WISHING everyone the BEST👍🏼🦌🇺🇸
I’ve never hunted but just took my hunter safety course. I have spent plenty of time in the southern adks and yearn to spend more time there and up north. This style of hunting plus maybe some still hunting appeals to me. I can’t see myself sitting in a tree stand for hours on end.
Ive hunted mt whole life. Grew up stand hunting in farmland Western NY. Moved to Central NY where there are big state forrests. I almost always prefer the still/track hunting to the stand now
I would love to Try this but living in Eastern North Carolina it would be impossible. Little too no snow. No big tracts of woods except maybe some national Forest land or game land!
No one explains tracking better than Joe. No one.
I agree 100%. I have watched the vids he’s in and have watched them repeatedly. Great teacher.
Joe is great. Taught me a lot about when to slow down. Made a big difference in my encounters.

Nobody fills tags like him!

Anybody know where to find a copy of the book he was co-author of? It’s unavailable everywhere and I really want to check it out
Leave that shit alone. Why is everyone chasing clout?
