- The Awakening is when a mundane mortal, a Sleeper, has the truth of the real world, the Supernal, revealed to them. It is traumatic and intense, and thereafter, they are one of the Wise, the Mages, living in the Fallen World, surrounded by the Lie. They strive to learn more, to bend reality to their will, to call forth creatures of the Underworld at a whim, or delve into the souls of others to learn their dark secrets.

The newly Awakened Mages, heirs of ancient Atlantis, investigators of the occult, have gathered in New York. The cabal has been formed to investigate Mysteries and collect knowledge of the Supernal. When a supernatural storm covers NYC, the cabal looks into what might be behind it.

Glad you're enjoying it! You're only a month behind, so easy to catch up. We're currently only recording the game, but we may upgrade to streaming it eventually!

Im certainly glad I found this channel, but This is a bit daunting to catch up on. I am excited to see how this continues.
While I highly suggest watching everything, episode 36 is a decent place to jump to. That's when we started streaming live and did a bit of a recap on things.
When everyone eventually awakens I picture it like the Third Impact in Neon Genesis and that’s what destroyed Atlantis.
This is all left for the storyteller and I'm not saying that anyone plays this wonderful game wrong, but Manhattan belongs to the seers as of 9/11 (reference: Mage the Awakening 2nd edition page 17 "The door part 2", and 9/11 is hinted at on page 77 "The door part IV"). This miniscule detail doesn't bother me since the lore of the game is up to the Storyteller but I'm just pointing this out to people who might use NYC as a setting :)
I appreciate you citing your sources! I'm definitely doing my own thing with this show since we'll be drawing in the other sourcebooks in non-canon ways too, I'm sure!
@@OccultistsAnonymous And that's the wonderful thing about nWoD (is it officially CoD now? I always think of CoD as call of duty so I tend to use nWoD), the lore is deep but easily changeable. I tend to play the scenarios in other cities (like Tokyo has these dead magic zones) in Boston since I always have my games in Boston (Boston Unveiled is still my favorite additional book for mage). I have been thoroughly enjoying this mage series :)

What software/app did you use for this layout? It looks fantastic.
My graphic designer used Photoshop for the overlay image. OBS is used for production and recording.
so the video seemed to cut off rather abruptly... not sure if that was intended or not.
It does... My first attempt at splitting one session into two episodes. No end card... I'm not very happy with it. Episode 2 is better.

We play via Roll20 and Discord. Recording is done with OBS, which also is used for the overlay. And while I appreciate the offer of a game, I hope you understand that and offer to play from a stranger isn't something I'd take if I weren't already busy and scheduled up to my eyeballs!
This game seems really cool.

Not a big deal, but I think using High Speech (mantra) cannot be used reflexively, hence also cannot be used in instant casting. Correct me if I’m wrong.
You are half-right. You cannot use it reflexively, it always takes an action. You can still cast "instantly" but it will require an additional turn. That's from page 120.
I wouldn't have let them filter the search for just supernatural beings with life magic with out adding on one dot of prime or fate.
Very much correct. It was our first episode though and we were still figuring things out!
