Great reaction. This song could have been on the first album, Su first performed it at Legend 1999 in June 2013, this Budokan Black night performance was the second live performance ... but Su was not happy that she had enough life experience to do the song justice emotionally and that she was concentrating more on getting the words and notes right than on conveying the emotion - so she decided she was not ready to record it for the first album. Only when she saw tears in the crowd (probably in this performance) did she realise her voice could effect people this way and only then was she happy to record the song ... so it was on the second album released two years later in 2016. The Legend S performance in December 2017 just before her 20th birthday is the definitive performance including live piano and strings (they pulled out all the stops for those shows) - watch that in your own time and have tissues handy. 'No Rain, No Rainbow' has still only been performed 7 times - Legend 1999 in 2013, Budokan 2014, Tokyo Dome 2016, both nights of Legend S in Hiroshima (Su's home town) 2017 and two of the Budokan 2021 concerts .... those last two were special again, Su sat and played some notes on the piano (possibly).
Thanks for this reaction. This concert was around the release of the first album, Su-metal had said she felt the way she was singing it wasn't good enough, so it ended up on the second album 2 years later. The Legend S version is thus usually the one we want people to watch, but it at least used to get blocked easier... so yeah, there is that.
Su's voice is infused with the innocent joy of singing. Her facial expressions and gestures reveal how much she is immersed in the song and how much she feels it. She is a special singer. Please check out the Legend S version. It will be hard to hold back the tears, even without sound.
Now you should find "Akatsuki (Unfinished)" for another one that pulls the heartstrings and shows off her voice. I'd suggest another, but it's a remix of one from the new album, so I won't spoil it or tempt you to look. When the time comes, though, you'll know. 😊
Funny thing is Su was not happy with this performance. It took YEARS before Su felt comfortable with this song. She always felt she was not mature enough to do this song justice. As you know Su wants her fans to be able to FEEL the meaning of the song and she didn't thing she had enough experiences to be able to convey the proper emotions. It wasn't years later when she sang it during her 20th that she felt she did it when she saw fans in the front of the stage crying from the song. As for her feet dragging thing, it wasn't her thinking she was badass, Su is actually insanely humble, as is Moa and Yui. She was dragging her feet to try and convey emotion into the song. Although I don't know if you want to do a reaction video for it or not, but if you want what most fans consider the best version of this song, then I'd recommend reacting to the LEGEND - S - BAPTISM XX version.
This is young Su tugging on your heart strings... you should checkout how an older Su just yanks it out while cutting onions for No Rain No Rainbow in Legend S Baptism XX concert.... even she said that when she was younger singing this song she was just trying to sing it right, and not put a lot of emotion into it. But when she saw people in the crowd tearing up, she realizes how emotional this song can be, so she held off singing it again until she felt she can do it justice, which was at her Birthday concert Legend S Baptism XX. 🤘🦊🤘
The foot drag is part of the performance. You can find sporadic examples from other concerts and by Yui and Moa. There is Japanese folklore of supernatural beings that appear human but their feet cannot leave the ground so they must walk in such a way.
Three years later at her birthday concert - Legend S. The way she walks down the stairs is not just "elegant type of walk" but full of more emotion. Her songs can not only be heard with the ears but also seen with the eyes. Even when the sound is muted we can still see the emotion she conveys. 🦊
Interview Su-Metal:Said that The Other One isn’t the real 4th album,The real 4th album is in a working process with Haven&Hade(Heaven&Hell) Metal sounds and also interview Su-Metal:Said that The Other One album have a hidden message to who is The Other One or Other third person????!…
I just saw this and had to jump in before it even started. This is my favorite song, (playing in background), although the Legend-S version is more emotional. I would like to say as an old metalhead, or perhaps military veteran that they have more meaningful songs, but no they don’t (IMO). They never fail to introduce me to emotions and feelings I’ve never known before! ❤️🦊🦊
This is why Su-Metal is a Metal Goddess. "No Rain 🌂 No Rainbow 🌈 " is about remembrance. All of the version are great but Babymetal live at the Legend S concert at Su-Metal hometown of Hiroshima shows her pure emotions and sincerity in Su-Metal singing ability to portray more versatility in her control of her vocals. The Legend S concert, is Mikio Fujioka's last concert with Babymetal before his tragic passing in 2018 and without Yuimetal who left Babymetal in 2018. Progressive Power Ballad "THE ONE" is a must for Babymetal fans. Whoever the fans need to support, it's up to them and it shouldn't be a competition of who is the greater band. I am a Kitsune but listen to other bands if the music is great but if it's not don't hate it. Music is Universal. After this do check out Legendary Japanese Band XJapan power ballad "Endless Rain" the last life before XJapan disbanded in 1998, where Babymetal's "No Rain No Rainbow" gets the inspiration from. Here is the link if you guys are keen on doing a reaction, th-cam.com/video/7rwJIeN1M7o/w-d-xo.html Great reaction. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬.
Great reaction, thanks! This song has a really weird live performances history, as it' has been told. The fact she wasn't happy with her performance for years just blow me away. This is a really good version and performance. She sounds young...because she was 16 at the time, nothing can be done about it. But I swear to the Fox God, she killed it at the Legend S concerts. She's amazing conveying the emotions flowing from the lyrics. The best. Hands down!
Yeah, because she was working as a model since childhood! but she can't tie a shoelaces well. LOL. she gave something... devoted kids can get a power like a fairy or angel, all stuffs are shining ✨
Good reaction. The dragging of rhe feet is a technique to not only convey the emotion of the song, but also a means of keeping time and preventing her from moving to fast. She does this in other songs like "Akatsuki" and "The ONE" when she is walking, but neess to move a little slower than normal. I have seen the Marine Silent Drill Team and Marine Band use a similar (not exact) technique.
TO THIS DAY , THIS IS BY FAR MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BABYMETAL SONG ! IT IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE !AND THROUGH CHANNELS I MADE SURE SHE HEARD HOW MUCH I LOVED IT ! AND IT MADE HER HAPPY ! I THINK THIS SONG MEANS A LOT TO HER ! AND LEDA CYGNUS , THE NUMBER 2 GUITARIST DID THE ARRANGEMENT FOR THIS SONG , SO HE'S ANOTHER HERO OF MINE !
It's also worth looking at Rondo Of Nightmare Mischiefs of Metal Gods at Budokan Live. It's the same black night performances but the intro is different. The band comes out first & well the rest is history! Su-Metal was only 16 in this now legendary performance. To think this isnt even their earliest show kinda blows the mind. Su-Metal was just 12 when she performed at SummerSonic. Which was officially their first performance and the youngest group to ever perform there. Now compare this to something more recent like Metal Kingdom Live. You see just how far they have come now!! Just so there isn't confusion here there are two versions of Metal Kingdom Live. The studio live version and the performance live version. The performance live version is Metal Kingdom (Babymetal Returns) This has both the live Video & Audio feed from their January 28 & 29th Arena show in Tokyo. The other is just an official MV release but with studio soundtrack. Frankly i wish they just use one version but i know a lot of bands do that to get the songs released sooner!! 🤘🦊💕
Great reaction. you are not checked out "Akatuki Finish version".. Next check "AKATUKI Budokan 2014" and "AKATUKI Budokan 2021". You could see a real queen.
My absolute favorite version of Su performing this song is this one th-cam.com/video/pDgqo6fcliY/w-d-xo.html Where at 3:00 Su's voice begins to shiver and she struggles to hold back her own tears. There's absolutely nothing in this world that melts my heart more, than these like 10 seconds in this song. That shows perfectly that even our beloved queen is only human like you and me. Greetings from germany 🤘🏻🦊
⚡ / ☂ 🌈 Su's performance gets better each time she sings this song. This Budokan Black Night performance in 2014 improved on the 'Legend 1999' version from 2013. Tokyo Dome in 2016 improved on that. And the 'Legend S' performances from 2017 were incredible. She delivered stunning performances for the two Budokan 2021 versions. This song has only been performed live seven times (including both Legend S concerts, and both Budkan 2021 performances), and never outside of Japan.
Great performance and reaction! 2nd album, eh? Please react to _Syncopation_ - it's actually my favourite BM song of all (at least from the first three albums, I need to hear certain songs from _The_ _Other_ _One_ more times to decide if it's being supplanted). Would love to know what you think.
You are way behind this...first concert was end of January, TheOtherOne Concept-Album was released last week...try to walk faster in your BM-Yourney, please....Kitsune-Up!!!!
I love your passion for the greatest band since Kansas came out back in the 70s just try a little harder not to stop the song so many times.. talking while it's playing is fine but stopping a Babymetal song like you do so many times is wrong.. every time you stop it, you are disliked a little bit more.. and it's always on the favorite part of the song..
Fantastic song but Su wasn’t happy with her performance back then. At the Legend S show she was finally ready and able to perform the song to her full abilities and it is even better. The only songs that are at the same level are “Akatsuki unfinished” and “Monochrome - piano version” ❤🤘🔥🦊

The legend S in her hometown is the best version. You really see her emotions in that one
I wanted to comment the other performances aswell, and I agree that my faveorite is Legend S 2017.
No Rain No Rainbow vs. Akatsuki unfinished used to be the thing..but now there is Monochrome piano ver. (First Take), and that turned everything over
Wait for Monochrome The First Take to compare younger Su 16 yo with grown up Su 25 yo, she still got it 🦊🤘🔥
Thanks for this reaction.

Tyler has a LOT of catching up to do 😂
Definitely react to The One. It is a second album song, not from The Other One (but who knows).

I just wanna give her a big hug after this song 😢
I would love to hear her sing this again, btw the English lyrics would kill you
そうですね。是非英語の歌詞を読みながら聴いて欲しいですね!たぶん泣いてしまう

After hearing this version I recommend listening to her perform it for her home town of Hiroshima
Yes, she CAN! (in fact, is there anything this lady doesn't do perfectly?) #weloveourqueen #totallynotacult etc etc... Greets from Germany as always.
Ride a bike, tie her shoes and read a manga. About anything else she's perfect. Apparently she made a deal with the devil. 😁
👍 👍 Great reaction to my favorite Suzuka solo.
I was right , you're reaction was like mine, amazing, falling in love, etc. Probably my favourite Babymetal ballad.

Thank you for reacting ! , this song and performance is so good and emotional 😭😭😭
"A sad rain throws a rainbow, far far away." You should see the performance at Legend S with translated subtitles. It will make you weep.
This song salutes to “Endless rain” from Xjapan, which is a legend band in Japan. Check that out.
BABYMETAL should make a concert with a full Synphonic orquestra
Great reaction, thanks!

Great reaction! I think you will like the new BABYMETAL album, the new songs have a lot of EDM and cool effects, i like them all already. See ya!
色褪せない名曲ですねぇ😄
I wished they would have done more songs like this. Not a big fan of all that hopping around stuff, but i absolutely love this one.

Patiently waiting for Amore...
Hits you right in the kokoro ❤ doesn't it?
Perfection! 😍🦊
best version of this song - from Legend S . There official video. U can also find 2021 version from Budokan. But this version not bad also.
Little girls all over tried to copy Su's walk only to have their mothers yell at them for making black scuff marks all over the floor. 😅 ok maybe not.
Great reaction.
you are not checked out "Akatuki Finish version"..
Next check "AKATUKI Budokan 2014" and "AKATUKI Budokan 2021".
You could see a real queen.
No Rain No Rainbow at Tokyo Dome is best version for me . but No Rain No Rainbow is best song ❤
