Join me and Gretchen as we explore Playa Del Carmen on an excursion!
This is my first excursion ever so I was very excited to experience and be able to report back to you all.
The Ferry ride was the absolute worst part, I give it a 0/5 stars.
After that it was a perfect day. The van ride was nice and they provided us with water. The drive really wasn’t too bad and seemed much shorter than expected.
They talked about how the area gets a bad rap safety wise and the only really places you have to worry about is the Mexico City borders.
The Sian Ka’an UNESCO part was my favorite. Just being out in this secluded area in nature was so relaxing. These small canals is how the Mayans would transport items.
The Muyil Ruins were filled with history, I do wish we would have had more time to explore here but I loved learning all about the Mayan culture throughout the trip.
I highly recommend this excursion for anyone thinking about it.
And if you were wondering where Michael was, He actually has a friend that lives in Cozumel so he met her for lunch while we were out. They were having a Carnival celebration going on so he got to experience some of that.
We met back on the ship and cancelled our dinner because we were so nauseous from the Ferry ride back and had to get ready for Scarlet Night.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am going in November and am trying to figure out which shore excursion to sign up for. I really want to learn about and see the mayan ruins, there are so many choices! I'm going to put this shore excursion on my top 5 list.

Thank you for watching! They have so many excursions that look amazing. This one was special because it was such a small group as well. Make sure you bring some nausea medicine if your ferry ride was anything like ours 😂. There was so much information that we got with this tour. What other excursions are you looking at?

@@magicalkeysvacations so they just opened up the list of shore excursions on the app tonight and unfortunately this shore excursion is not on the list. Ugh, im so upset it seemed so beautiful and such a perfect balance of activities i wanted to experience (ruins and water). Thinking of just doing Chichen Itza instead since its that or Tulum Ruins and ive heard their not as impressive as Cichen Itza so id rather go big instead.

Keep an eye on it. I feel like they added more as time got closer. Just keep checking on it and we'll keep our fingers crossed. I've heard others say that the Chichen Itza excursion was also good so it could be a good 2nd option. Let us know what you end up going with and if this excursion ever pops up.
