    I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up th-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

    Hell yeah - someone else who uses the pipe clamps like I do! Better than the cheap expensive waste of money clamps that break because half of it is plastic the other half is the weakest metal or aluminum! -- Oh and I dig the top of the bench with the lights! Thanks for the inspiration on this bro! #Subscribed !!!!! At 7 minutes in, what happened? lol - had to rewind and watch it a few times haha - it happens!
    I'm almost done with mine - I added a shelf in the garage - well another level down from the ceiling - and im going to put a 2 light track light under it! Had to come back to this video and let ya know that this was the inspiration for it! - I'll make a vid and put in on youtube and drop the link as a reply to this comment!

    I really like the workshop you made since my workshop is on the outside porch under a canopy this would be an excellent choice to still be able to work on rainy days I do use a marine varnish to weather proof covers for some of my items the rain repels and the varnish is great for any outdoor project. Thanks I will start on this project soon since I sell my crafts at flea markets rain or shine it pays to look at TH-cam.

    As a suggestion, you may want to add another 2x that goes lengthwise from left to right. I framed mine just like yours (the bottom section) except that I ran my front to back supports every 16" on-center, and over time, the top has sagged. Like you, I used 3/4 plywood. Hope this helps.

    With me, coming from a carpentry background, now that I am in a shop space, I struggle to "remember/make myself" always square up four square sides on my dimensional lumber. I was wondering what your thoughts are about squaring stock for stuff around the shop.
    That said, you got some nice moves, looks like you have been doing this for awhile. I like your use of clamps to install the top rack. I especially approve of the level of badassery you managed to get up to in your slippers. Keep on keeping on.

    • @johnbarneswood
      @johnbarneswood  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, thanks for the comment. Glad someone appreciates my badass slippers as much as I do.
      I think it's important to keep in mind that while squaring up all sides leads to accurate dimensioning all around, it adds much more time and eats away at the girth of your lumber. Yeah you can then go and glue up your freshly squared stock, but again, much more time. For me in my shop right now, I just want the table heights to all be level across the room. I want them to be sturdy, and I don't care about the aesthetics. Down the road, when I build my own carpenter's workbench, I will follow the laborious steps to produce a thing of beauty and precision. Until then, I'm happy throwing something together in an afternoon that will easily last for years.
