      Same roots probably. Same roots with Taiwan and The Nagas of Northeast India. This was because of the migration of the earlier people or descendants of taiwan here in Northern Luzon that we shared many similarities in cultures

    • @MariaMaria-oo3kj
      @MariaMaria-oo3kj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@etgmaster44 certainly it's a name given by Spanish colonisers to the local mountains in South America. They destroyed the local culture there exactly as colonisers do to the Philipine one up to this day. What even worse,,your Cordillera was named by Conrado Balweg the rebel priest. He must had
      been on the coloniser's side, otherwise he would have named the mountains as the Igorots called them. Your heritage is not being preserved, on the contrary.
      Your national identity is being destroyed. The best example is Kiangan hymn sung in American !!!!!

      @@MariaMaria-oo3kj You are talking about the tagalogs and ilocanos, we accepted safe passage for the Americans, we treated them as neutral, we even helped them capture Emilio Aguinaldo because we realized the constitution brought up by the tagalogs are messed up and we were heavily discriminated by the lowlanders at that time. Education and Fashion was not forced unto us, we decided because of development. Unlike your people we only fought when it is necessary. We only fought the Spaniards because they were aggressive, we welcomed the Americans because they were no threat to us.

    • @MariaMaria-oo3kj
      @MariaMaria-oo3kj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guiltmare I am in Middle Europe, a fan of Philippine culture. From a side you see better. What is to be seen from here is that Filipinos/as like American colonization well . These junk foods, plastic etc. National identity is being lost. Local languages disappearing and dissolving. Parochial and missionary schools hammer into young heads English and God. Do they teach national pride and patriotism? Do you know who gave your mountains a Spanish name? Do you know Jose Rizal 's FAREWELL poem? All the other former colonies first thing changed names colonizers gave. Only Philippines still called after some rotten Spanish king. Why? The USA didn't allow!!!Can you call it freedom? And Spanish names all around. A hymn should be sung in languages most common to your region people. I think Ilocano and Kankanaey. Might be translated into English, but not an official video!!! Some people who watched it thought it was South America or India!!! Especially because every school student in the world knows that Cordillera is in S America. Spanish colonization was hard but opposed. American one is done by slow corruption. People emigrate to find a better life and Chinese will be coming, pushing and taking over. In my opinion Filipinos are good people easily used by strangers. I'm trying to shake your way of thinking, showing how things are being seen from afar. American is a useful language and multilingual countries must have one common one, besides it opens the world , still a foreign language. But a hymn??? Another thing is cult of fat I observe. Fat people are found to be successful. There are more and more of them thanks to junk foods and Macdonald worship. Diseases unknown before in the Philippines are spreading because of wrong foods. I can argue endlessly, I wonder if you accept. By the way, I am trying to learn Kankanaey. If you are a good speaker of, would you please write for me a few names of truly indigenous flowers? I need for some project. ALL the best.

Your mountains, towns, places - hadn't you have ANY names for them to bring them back? Or to develop any others but in YOUR OWN LANGUAGE? Did colonists break your backbone for good? Stamped your country with their language forever? What did Rizal die for? Haven't you got ANY national pride? Why aren't you proud to be Filipinos ? Why do you bleach your hair and skin? • @MariaMaria-oo3kj
      @MariaMaria-oo3kj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Htlghu These people are Filipinos who had undergone 300 years of Spanish colonization. Most colonized countries after getting their freedom immediately changed their names e.g. former Ceylon is now Shri Lanka .Sadly, Filipinos seem to be happy with their former colonial status of slaves because they not only keep a name Philippines after some rotten Spanish king Philip of 16 th century but also all geographical Spanish names colonizers stamped their country with. Cordillera is one of them. Aggressive Spaniards after colonizing S. America named it in Spanish, Cordillera being one of them. Then Philippine mountains were named after that and Filipinos still are not able to throw away all those names reminding about slavery. NO national pride! No wonder one can feel confused seeing a hymn of Cordillera who they people are? It's real shame that they must be ignorant about their past and their national hero Rizal, a martyr, who obviously died in vain.
