A lovely rendition and faithful to the original score, you can tell that Barry wanted to create a score that worked seamlessly with Rachmaninoff's 18th variation on a theme by Paganini. Barry wrote an incredibly beautiful piece here.

@@brettmitchellconductor Rachmaninoff wrote some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard and this is coming from a fan of Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Mozart. My preference in composers is the romantic period and although Mozart is before this time, it's still Mozart!

Here's the amazing thing: the score is very prominent with the piano, and John did not consider himself a good pianist. Maybe he wasn't a virtuoso, but I find it a relief that his piano music is often so straightforward, because for beginners like me (even though I made it to the intermediate stage, I have been out of practice, since we currently don't have a piano), his music is relatively easy to learn.

It's nice to hear someone adhere so perfectly to the John Barry original composition and tempo, but still add their own style to the iconic piece. I've watched a lot of Somewhere In Time videos on TH-cam trying to find one that does what you did. So far, I've found only 2 videos. The other video being a cover of the Roger Williams version from the CD soundtrack.
