It's my daily so been on the WS80's since 2016 except for the rust under the car but that was on me because I have ignored to rustproof it since the beginning of COVID. Don't forget to add 250-300lbs in the back seat to help weigh down the car, it really helps!
P.S. Using Pedal Commander which really helps you apply the throttle the way you like which in severe conditions like this is a HUGE bonus and makes winter driving much safer especially on RWD vehicles! I was initially using the Michelin X Ice Xi 3's in the first year of 2016 and those tires were so bad I had to get rid of them and have never looked back since using these WS80 Blizzak's and now Bridgestone just came out with the new WS90's in 2021!
@@lfsracer79 I read in many forums where if too much weight is put in the trunk instead of the back seat it can drastically affect your rear components under the car and they all had suggested adding weight to the back seats. If you look at all of the mid mountain engines in Porsche's and other exotic cars their engines are right behind the seats which helps apply more traction to the rear wheels.
@@lfsracer79 Even with very minimal snow I would get all squirly with the Xi3's and remember just because the Xi3's are rated #1 for 4WD & FWD this doesn't mean it's good for a RWD right!
I think that people have trouble understanding the huge difference that snow tires make. When I was a teenager I definitely was not excited to buy tires unless they were going on new rims.Once you have used them and experienced it you understand
Yes I agree and my son is like that thinking his cheap all seasons would get him through the Canadian winter and I was like, are you f@cking serious??? I told him, his car is insured under my name and you're buying the new WS90's from Costco and putting them on that car by Nov 1st and so he did. I was looking into getting Nokian Hekkapellita R5's but they are $500CAD more but anything from Nokian, those guys make the best winter tires in the market. I'm still using these WS80's this year "fourth winter" and grip is good but not excellent so for sure they will either be getting replaced with the WS90's or the Nokian R5's, drive safe!
Great video! Just bought a set of WS90s for my Genesis Coupe (hopefully I won’t be that guy stuck at the intersection haha). I’m very curious as to how they’ll perform here in the Montreal area as these are my first Blizzaks, though I’ve heard time and time again that they’re the best winter tires you can get, especially for lightweight rear-wheel drive sports cars. Seeing all these videos of people raving about using them on their Mustangs, Camaros, 370Zs and other vehicles certainly not conceived with snow in mind leads me to believe that I made the right choice. Good thing I didn’t go for the Michelins... 🤪 Cheers!
I'll be getting my WS90's next year because I still have 1-1.5 seasons left on my WS80's and just got the WS90's for my son's Mazda 2. I'm in Ottawa so whatever shit weather I get, MTL gets it too! lol What I have been doing for the last 2 years is adding 250lbs of weight in the back seat which helps it even more so go to Canadiantire and grab some wood pellets of some type of weight to help you get even more traction! Don't the the salt bags cause they're cheap and that shit leaked all of my back seats and was very difficult to clean in the spring. The wooden pellets for the smoker BBQ's is mess free and stain free! I do onsite work as far as Cornwall so this 2016 S550 has seen 6 winter seasons and still going strong and the funny thing is I'll get some people looking at me like I'm a nut for driving my Stang in freezing rain or major snowy conditions :-)
@@chwdhryaryan Yes you can and on your 3'rd year I would suggest adding some but it really depends what snow conditions you have in your region so is yours just as bad as Ontario?
@@mhash8139 Sand bags or even smoke pellets for BBQ but using salt bags was a bad idea because the cold and condensation will make this shit get into your upholstery and cleaning was hell...
Good review, thank you! By the way, how does the Pedal Commander work with the different Mustang GT driving modes ? Would you please make a review on that as well ? Also, can you combine them both, for example: Sport+ drive mode and Pedal Commander Sport+ ? How will it affect the throttle response ? By much or will just be the same ? Sorry for the many questions but I'm thinking of buying one.
Pedal Commander is almost like Pedal Max which is another popular throttle enhancer. What this device does is through 4 driving modes from 14 to +4 you can customize whatever mode you're on to a T on how you want your car to response from the gas pedal. The new S550's have that stupid drive by wire technology so there's that slight delay which I hate but with this PC you can adjust your feel to the exact way you want it and remember even wearing the wrong pair of boots or shoes can make a difference so even in the winter I'm always wearing thin shoes so I can feel the pedal much better. This device is so good o some cars that don't peel on a take off this device on Sports +4 can easily make you go zoom zoom!
I really want a mustang GT but I as never sure if I could survive the winters
But this videos make me feel more confident!
