The sunset was unreal! Couldn’t believe our luck when we got back in the harbour with that to greet us. It only lasted like 5 mins to. Right time right place 😎

We caught heaps of big kings on our ones and I’m sure you could catch a tailor off the beach with one 👍 but you get what you pay for, if you want true quality then a Saltiga is as good as it gets. Chur chur for watching 😎
I’d match the rod to braid. PE8 might be a bit over kill? I can’t remember the max drag pressure of that reel? I’d run line a bit heavier then the max drag pressure of the reel and match the rod to the braid. So, if PE6 braid was stronger then the drag pressure? Use PE6 then match with PE6 rod. hope that makes sense? But, If you go with PE8 then guessing you would never bust off and that is a good thing 👍😁😎
I can’t remember the last time we jigged for king fish 🤔 it’s not something we do a lot of mate. When we have done it we have just used Saltigas. I think if you were to go jigging a lot there would be drum reels that would be better suited for it. Thanks for watching 😎

Chur chur 😁👍😎 we put PE8 braid(100lb) on it and PE10 on our Saltigas (137lb) which is over kill yes, but the braid is the only thing connecting your rod to the fish and it’s 99% of the time the thing that lets you down so we run heavier braid incase of weak points/damage in the braid ect thanks for watching 👍

It is a “cheap” king fish reel when compared to the Saltiga! The Saltiga is our go to reel for targeting big king fish and pretty much all we use. The MQ is NZ $479 and a Saltiga is NZ $1699. So, the MQ is “cheap” because it’s less then a 3rd of the cost of a Saltiga. Thanks for watching
