Solid color korean strat bodies are multi piece and then sandwiched between two thin vaneer ply on both sides via vacuum press. For some reason they sound really good. The burst models were usually 3 piece alder bodies.
The necks are really nice and slick.

Great video! Just discovered your channel, and I'm about to watch all of the Stew-Mac build videos. Looking forward to watching them as soon as I get off of work today.

The Idea of the copper tape is to get a grounded cage around the electronics. Not sure if you did it, as I obviously haven't seen part 2 yet, but to achieve this, the pickguard also needs to be covered with copper tape and needs to be connected to the copper tape in the cavity. Either you solder a wire that goes to ground to the pickguard as well as the cavity, or more commonly you would let the coper tape go over the edge and just touch the pickguard, so you only have to solder it on one place. Just as an input as I've noticed how clean you've stopped with the tape right below the edge, which made me wonder.

I had one of those MIDI pickups too. It kinda worked, but not enough to be useful. Oh well 🤷‍♂️

Hey that's useful enough info for me to stop lazily looking for it!

I would like to do this same job to my 1995 MIK. Please post a parts list if possible.

I have the same guiatr. What size were the post hole before you reamed them out? I was looking at some vintage drop ins and I don't want to do change them if I don't have too. yeah i could them them out and measure them myself, but i am lazy and you already did it. lol

Totally understand! I don't have measurements of the original holes, but I do have the original tuners, I'll pull them out of the box ASAP and get you a measurement! Highly recommended to change the tuners. The originals leave a lot to be desired!
