    Air filters on domestic mowers only require replacing every two to three years. mine is a wet lump of copper wool, never never NEVER wire brush good paint off any metal surface that you want to last. better to take off the loose muck and paint it with a bit of the old engine oil. when oiling moving parts oil any cables. Never throw a blade away until you have sharpened it a few times a small file costs about $2 a new blade costs $10 and upward. The most important checks are for debris restricting air flow around the engine and that the thing stops when the handle is released. do not put the dip stick down on the bench it only takes one grain of grit to ruin an engine.

    Wouldn't you change the blades after you have drained the oil? I would. But hey everyones different

    2 things you have tipped the lawnmower the wrong was should alway tip away from the carb also why change a serviceable item like the blade why not sharpen and balance it just as easy

      I thought the same. I made that mistake when I first had my lawnmower. Let the air filter air out and gave it a good clean. I did worry for a while that I had broken the lawnmower. Also the manufacturers booklet says to lubricate the spark plug area on mine. Is that normal? Thank you for any help you could offer.
      Thank you in advance.

      They sell filters and blades. Why have you sharpen your blade when they can sell you a new one?

    Shouldn't you check the gap size on the sparkplug before putting it in?

    i wouldn't recommend tilting your machine with the exhaust in up position.
    Oil will run into carb as well as damage your new air filter.

    Who the f@ck designs a lawnmower so that the drain plug sits right on the body?

    • @Wizard-kk4lz
      @Wizard-kk4lz ปีที่แล้ว

      Just got one in from a friend to check as it does not start. It is a Wolf Terminator II with Torx VX 200 motor and as Paul's comment, this mower was designed on a Monday after the Burning Man festival. It has no sump plug at the bottom at the crank case by the shaft as is the norm. Only that drain plug below the oil filler tube. Problem is you cannot unscrew it all the way to let the oil drain as the body of the mower obstruct it. So it looks like pulling the oil out or taking the motor off the chassis is the only way. Daft, get something else in my humble opinion...thanks for the vid though.
