Alright I found the dates of the bottles After almost an hour of research...it appears they are post 1890 because of how the number 34 is centered above the girl and lion and not to the left of it. However it must be pre 1920 as the number 34 does not have quotes around it (ie. “34”) therefore, best guess is they’re between 1891-1919. I personally think it’s probably from around 1900-1910 but I’m a clothing expert, not a medicine one so what do I know? That’s the best I can do for now 😌(And plz comment if you find anything else)

I'd be interested in the video you propose around 20:00. I had old books like that as a kid and I was fascinated by them. My mom and uncle found these huge compilations of German magazines much like that Good Housekeeping one, except much larger (and in German, obvs) and though I couldn't read a word, I spent quite a lot of time poring over them.
My German grandparents still have loads of old things in their house since it's the house my grandad was born in. There's lots of old tins and trinkets, even a sewing machine. You've made me wonder if they have any old magazines like these
When I was young I would always go to this antique store near the dentist I go to and it was always fun seeing the knick knacks they had. Now I like to live through Erin since I only go out when it's groceries, but I'm so fascinated and wish I had some of this stuff!
A video of you going through the book would be amazing! When I worked at a museum my favorite thing was to look through all of the old books and news papers. I once spent a whole day reading through London news papers from the early 1900's.

They would typically have a garbage pit on their property where they would put empty containers and food scraps. In some cases they would put their garbage in the outhouses (outside toilet) which are are always full of interesting things.

Your could be a doctor on a pirate ship in the 1800s! Or perhaps a pediatrician in the 1800s or just a regular doctor in the 1800s. Or instead of the 1800s, you could try the early 1900s!

Hey Erin! I believe those pill bottles are from the 1880s or 1890s, based on some research I’ve done on Dr. Frederick Humphreys, who began his homeopathic business in the 1850s and died in 1900. The lack of color on the labels also suggests they were manufactured before the 1910s or 20s, when a lot of products began being advertised with colorful prints. Hope that’s of some interest to you :D

Since you were asking about the timeframe: Fredrick Humphreys (1816-1900). The business those particular items came from was founded in NY in 1853. His packaging is known on the antique market for his mass produced homeopathic remedies, with several of the veterinary "medicine" bottles apparently being prized by antique bottle collectors. Even in his time, the quackery of his snake oil had been debunked, however considering we are still trying to get such things out of the pharmacy sections the more things change as it were.
I absolutely adore the Good Housekeeping book. The art and the style is beautiful. Please make a video going through the book, I would absolutely love to see what’s inside. 💕

A video of you going through the book would be amazing! When I worked at a museum my favorite thing was to look through all of the old books and news papers. I once spent a whole day reading through London news papers from the early 1900's.
I'm an archaeologist and I find those remedy bottles all the time but never that big! Usually the ones I dig up are fairly small.
