This really makes me smile. I love the music anyway and know it of old, but to see this bunch of musicians so brilliantly playing and so much in synch. The skill is breathtaking. Bravo.
Could you please tell me more about what it was like to see them live? I've been a fan of Pierre Moerlen and of Gong in general since I was 15 years old, and I've always been curious to know if they played old Gong songs, if they had a repertoire or improvised most of the time, if they had a large following, things like that. Thanks a lot.
Thank you so much for making my directionless surf experience this evening. To come across a cover of one of my favorites, purely by accident, is a wonderful thing indeed. Also, just as I was missing Mssr. Springbloom in the mix, the guitarist filled things in at the end. Bravo, and thanks.
Great. Really authentic. I've enjoyed this album for 40 years since i 1st heard album. One thing though, please focus camera on guitarists hands during guitar solos
Great rendition! Certainly the first fusion / Progressive jazz album or jazz band that I ever got into. Gong/ Gazeuse! Featuring Pierre Moreland with Allan Holdsworth! Actually I think King Crimson was the first followed by gong than mahavishnu orchestra, return to the forever,& weather report. But up until that point the closest I got into this kind of music was Rush yes , led Zeppelin cream Pink Floyd& The who.
You guys nailed it! The Holdsworth parts need brushing up on a little. However, I'm quite sure he wouldn't be able to play his own solo on the record again himself. A great cover! I loved it. :)
Salut les Zicos , tant de pets qui accompagnèrent ces énergies de lu'lle' part , Gangagondawha , super touchant , une petite add impro aurait garni le "buffet" d'une cerise qui , l'a été depuis I guess ...Keep on the Wind ...
C'est sûr, Holdsworth à la guitare, pas facile de reprendre le titre mais franchement vous vous en tirer plus que bien !! Bravo les gars !! (ps/ je suis guitariste , du coup je suis un peu concentré sur la guitare…)
mmmm.....a modern rendition ....with feet is Messugah ...a seminal piece also ....think triplet with a grace note but with a feel of 3 on 2 with the flam missing the right hand stroke.......Pert does it at times on the snare...
Could you help me? I'm an obsessive Pierre Moerlen fan, and drummer... and I would like to know the technical specs to the fills in this track on the drums, which I consider to be Pierre's trademark fills, the five beat 32nd note fills which occur in the "Chorus". I've asked this question on many drum forums, and fucking forgot to ask Pierre himself when I had the heart stoppingly amazing time with him back stage at an Brand X gig in Leeds, UK. (I have photos!). PLease try and help me out here. Thanks.. :)
Ork Duo I've made a video where I slowed his fill by 60%, and still found it impossible to understand how you can play, RLRRL at 32nd note beats in 120BPM ! That's what it looks like he's doing! I thought it was a press roll combination, using five beats, but he looks like he's actually playing the double right hand strokes (matched grip), down and up! AAARGH!
Great stuff, nice to hear the Pierre Moerlen Gong sound being kept alive!
Wow ! Quel plaisir de réentendre la musique du Gong de Pierre et bravo à ces musiciens qui respectent l'âme d'un des meilleurs batteurs..
Super. I listen to this, I find the spirit of Pierre's Moerlen Gong. Great interpretation of this classic.
Superb

vous avez reproduit à merveille le son Moerlen Brothers ! Ce son c'est depuis le ventre de ma mère qu'il me suit !
So much percussion and rhythm, I love Pierre Moerlen ('s Gong)

Thanks mate! That would be excellent! I'll message my address! Thanks! :D

Spillage66 WHen I've tried to recreate it, I end up doing four beats, like a horse gallop.(RLRL-RLRL-RLRL-RLRL)
