Super-fast and reliable what now? I guess if you compare it to *early* dial up during the height of winter rains, flooding the copper based telecommunication pits, then yes it would be 'Super-fast and reliable' If you mean compared ADSL2+ during Dry summer conditions or 4G wireless, then nope not even remotely close even when the video was made let alone 2 years later. In defence of iiNet, it *used* to be an excellent ISP till it was taken over years ago several takeovers actually. I hear Aussie Broadband is decent and will be transitioning over to them when my HFC NBN connection goes live in my area.
LostVibez also you won't get those speeds on fttn since copper isn't designed to carry those fast speeds that fiber can Hence why fttp customers are more happier than fttn
I found the video interesting where it explained the installer does not need to enter the home with fiber to node installs as it uses the existing copper.
VDSL or Fiber to the Home... well, I would prefer Fiber to the bulding because many people think "FTTN is the same as FTTP.... no, FTTN is VDSL, FTTP is direct fiber, but iiNet wants you to believe that because their tech support staff are former scammers from India ready to assist you. Or you could be even more unlucky and get someone from the Philippines that probably wouldn't know a light switch to a network switch
I think iinet may have decided to go with the cheap option and maybe get one of their employees to do this video, rather than get a professional non douchebag looking and sounding spokesperson like telstra have done.
FTTN this connection is unreliable!! If disconnected or dropped out calling iinet for support takes too long "Do not under any circumstances unplug the power supply or disconnect the DSL cable as it will take weeks to sync to the NBN network" contacting iinet takes too long and on hold can waste your time What a joke I hate FTTN dropouts and no stable connections its unpredictable and can be unstable most of the time

why does fttn need a router upgrade when it still uses the same copper to the house
+engelon125 Because this disgraceful excuse for super fast internet uses VDSL instead of ADSL.
+engelon125 $$$
"Super-fast and reliable" Hahah Nice Joke , 2 Mbps and drop outs every day is just great !!!!
LostVibez copper is unreliable
It's old technology designed to carry phones not internet
Fttp is superior in everyway

Only every day? Mine drops out at least 5 times per hour but my speeds usually around 22 - 34 which would be ok if I wasn't on the 100 plan
I'm on nbn and I have 150mbps average

I really want to watch this video as it seems to be pretty informative but can't stand the dude in it
+Loressi I know what you mean about the guy in the video -- could he be any more fake and slimy-smiley? Gives me the creeps
I think iinet may have decided to go with the cheap option and maybe get one of their employees to do this video, rather than get a professional non douchebag looking and sounding spokesperson like telstra have done.
beats that naked dude... that smiles all the time
Canberra still don't have this
wouldnt want this guy coming into my house lolololol
fttn aka aids
There's no copper in my street
that shit eating grin..
government should give us FTTP not FTTN
Would be twice as fast huh. So stupid how they still use copper.
@@Red-gl2cb government decide to use copper cause its cheap and its already in the ground so stupid
"superfast speeds" my ass
The reason they still use copper is so stupid, they do it to save money, but if they had fibre instead the speeds would go from 40mbps to 90!
Terrible customer service experience ever in my life . I wish I could cancel my contract with them .
I’ve been with them since the beginning of ADLS and they provide a good service
super fast copper
